When do you stop texting if delayed/no response?

I have a simple set of rules for texting: If i text once without response, i wait for a few days and then text one more time!

I wait then another few days, and after that i delete the number and dont't think (or at least i try) about it anymore.

If someone is genuinely interested, it is not a problem to find the 30 seconds in a day that lastst 24 hours, to give a short message saying: "i am busy, talk to you later." if someone can't even manage to do this, this person is either dead, blind, in a coma, in jail, metally retarded, cant read, or is simply not interested. I don't need people with either of those problems in my life.

She's not interested. Chicks are on their phones all the time so if she doesn't respond just move on you should have an abundance mentality anyway. Only use the phone for logistics like meetups unless you want the friendzone.

Stop texting right now.

By that I mean, stop using text as a medium for pick up. Talk to her in person, or just fucking call her. When you text, you blend in with all the other douche bag orbiters were texting her all day as well.

But when you have the balls to actually call her, you stand out. Even more so when you have the Kurds to interact with her in person.

So stop texting already.

3 strike rule. Some girls just get flustered and don't text back. One, wait a day or two, second one, wait a week(maybe she's out of town), third one, possibly a bit softer 'Hey, have some free time this week? I want to get a drink.', and that's all.

Don't ever be negative. Ever. It's not worth it. Be a positive, charismatic, active guy who is interested in her company. Trying to Make her feel bad for not accepting your date or coming up with bad excuses for turning you down means she matters far too much.

I agree with Missy, she is prob not interested. But, it doesnt hurt to send another, but I would wait a week or 2 - but send a text with a plan in mind -> "Let's meet today/tmr/ for a drink 9pm." Then if no response - erase her number.

24 hours with no reply means she might just be busy. Or she doesn't have the energy to text a guy right now.

As a last-ditch effort, you can always try a re-engaging text, just for fun.

"Hey haven't heard from you in a minute. Just wanted to make sure you didn't get eaten by bears."

or something similarly goofy that aligns with your personality.

This thread is awesome. I was just about to ask this question pertaining to my situation. I'm talking to a girl I met on tinder, had a date with, and I really like her so far. We texted a bit after the date and when I asked her when she would be free for another date, she told me she would let me know today, then we kept texting and she stopped responding randomly. I haven't heard from her at all today and I'm not sure when to text her again. She sounded really excited and receptive to my texts when planning the second date so I don't get it.

I'm probably going to try again in a few days and call her this time.

If you can keep texting funny, interesting and fresh stuff, you can eventually break through whatever barrier they're putting up. Thats assuming you can actually tell when you're funny and fresh.

but even then, the time comes where the effort you put in passes some threshold, and the fun of getting to know someone whithers and dies and the idea of texting them makes you feel displeasure instead of excitement. Thats definitely the time to quit.

Also, to compare with what everyone else wrote, I wouldn't be pressuring for a date in this context. If you're asking to hang out before you're in a conversation, you're fucked imo.

Escalate until rejection or you are not interested anymore, don't text more than once a day if you are interested.

If she isn't interested, it's okay for her to use her big girl words and let you know. You are a dude who isn't going to fly off the handle when someone directly turns you down.

The reason you should pursue is because while most girls don't respond as a sign of rejection, some are forgetful, busy, testing your interest, or simply have different text etiquette. You will never know which this girl is unless you get her to tell you.

At this point, personally, I would call her. Make my intention clear and get rejected or get a date. I dislike wondering.

I once asked a girl out for 2 years before she gave me a second date... Which lead to a lifetime of commitment.

I've had girls I didn't ask out after a third flake write me long sob stories about how I was the one, and why didn't I try just a little harder - blah blah blah.

If you don't want a girl who doesn't respond to texts in a timely fashion, that's fine. You can always disqualify. (I don't recommend rejecting her formally unless she asks you out.)

Never ever be the one waiting for a reply. Ever. And always make the other one wait, if its just 5-10 minutes when you're having more of a chat-like conversation or couple of hours or even a day or two.

Hard to live by if you find someone interesting of course, i definatly don't live as i learn..but hey, it's the right thing to do :)

In your particular case: See it as a lost cause. IF she replies either dont reply at all or wait a day or so and be short in your reply (but not obivous "i'm upset with you!" short). Let her come to you. And most importantly, do you really want to date a girl that doesn't reply for 24h+ and treats you like that?

If you get blown off several times in a row, it's a virtual certainty that she's not interested.

There's no harm in continuing to try, though. Just wait progressively longer in between texts. 1 day -> 3 days -> 9 days -> 18 days -> 36 days -> 72 days etc
