Tell the truth and leave it at that. Unless you are 60 trying to pick up 21 year olds, why would it be an issue? Or... say that you are 175 but you found the fountain of youth in an exotic jungle adventure many years ago, and it now rests in your bedroom ;)

Personally, I'm always truthful. I'm 41 and normally date women in their late-20s and it's rarely an issue. I actually take some pride in the fact that I can still score them. Makes me feel good about myself and shows confidence. Sure, once in a while I get rejected for it, but if a girl doesn't like me for who I really am, I'd rather not get involved with her. My go to is to tell her I just got out of high school and my life achievement so far was to finally "be legal." This only works because I have a beard and I always get asked how old I am. I'm 24, but people usually guess I'm 28-32

I just give her my age or say whatever I want if I'm feeling cheeky. If it's a shit test like some are saying, be unreactive and do the same thing. Worrying about the answer is the only wrong way to do it.

I assume it's more of a random conversation thing that comes up when a girl's trying to get to know you. Of course, I'm talking about with in the early/mid 20's crowd so, maybe it's different for older people..

When she's asking questions about you it usually means she's interested. Do not punish her for this interest by being a dick. Instead you should reward interest like that with some of your own or by being fun. Don't be afraid to escalate either. For example, say you're older and she's niggling about your age. Hit her up with something like, "What is it about older guys that you're attracted to?"

If her asking your age though is somehow a shit test, standard rules apply: change the subject, agree & amplify to absurdity, etc.

It's used to assume certain things about you. These depend of course on what she associates different ages to be like.

What I like to do is the standard: "guess". and whatever she says, I just go OMG, exactly! how'd you know?

I always say 12 ( I look young ). But you can joke around and say most people give me 12 but I'm actually 11. I usually don't take anything a woman says seriously and misinterpret everything on purpose. Makes the interaction more fun form me. Regardless of what happens. But usually works like a charm.
