It's not even a shit test, he just needed to cut ties earlier. You owe it to yourself to not deal with shitty girls. I would be upset because I let someone trick me into wasting my time on them, not because I didn't pass her tests.
This is a perfect example of the sunk cost fallacy at work, and why outcome independence/abundance is such an important philosophy. The rational point to leave that date was likely hours before he did, but every time he evaluated leaving, he added in the sunk costs of getting the date as well as his potential to get an equal or better date later. When you're adding those things in to weigh on the scale, it is always going to lean toward not acting like a man. Guys need to learn that you shouldnt follow through on a date that you expect to go nowhere. Evaluating the future is much more profitable to us than the past

Yes you're absolutely right good point. I think that sort of insight comes through trial and error. My guess is op is young and not as exposed to these circumstances, I know back in my early 20s I would have been op and looked at myself as to what I did wrong when the truth is I did nothing wrong. It was just a shitty circumstance and the girl wasn't worth a penny of my time

Why would you need to argue with a woman you haven't even had a date with yet? This is emotionally-uncentered behavior. Courtship is about FUN, not drama.
And if you've already had relationship-like "talks" with a woman before the first date, a woman can only imagine how much toxic drama there is yet to come. Keep your emotions in check.
In addition, movie dates are a bad idea.
Next time you get a girl's phone number, ask her out on a date within five texts. Get to the point with women. If she says no, stop texting her and move onto another woman.

If OP learns anything from this thread, I hope it's this.

There are a lot of things that are red flags here.
You shouldn't be waiting for a month to meet someone in real life. Exceptions include when you really enjoy the conversations, both of you seem interested but can't seem to make it because life gets in the way sometimes. But it shouldn't be due to a lack of desire (which does seem to be the case here).
You should have the courage to call people out on their behavior. If you made plans for a movie with her, remember that you are putting aside some of YOUR very valuable time as well. If she changes plans last minute, have a conversation with her immediately. Sounds like you picked up on the weird vibe, so call her out on it. "Hey, I thought this would be a fun date, but I'm getting a weird vibe from you. Is everything OK?". Being honest will get you very very far if you're also not a dick about it.
There's a difference between being persistent and being needy. From what you've written, it sounds like you were being the latter, which is a HUGE turnoff to most women.

That was constructive, thanks man.

Worst date ever because she's fucked in the head or doesn't know how to reject a guy. No need to think about her again.

lol true, thanks man

Yeah, move on. She sounds like she has issues. Don't allow negative people to drag you on their level. Just state your opinion, be calm and normal, and say bye when needed.
[–]Insertopinionhere 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Sounds your taking her personal issues personally.
She has bad communication skills and at the very minimum should have just said “I’m not really feeling a connection. I’m going to leave.” Granted you are both fairly young and your communication skills aren’t the best.
You could’ve easily just “ is everything OK?” and if she responded negatively you could’ve just ended the date.
I definitely wouldnt take it personally. Sounds like she had her own issues going on.
[–]anomxka 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Sure I agree. Ultimately I tried too hard, probably, I really couldn't tell if she wasn't in to me or if it was just her personality. Either way leaving was the best choice (?)
[–]Insertopinionhere 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Honestly, yeah, if somebody is actively being rude and disrespectful there’s no reason for you to stay. Sounds like you’re not too good at gauging whether a girl is into you or not.
You’ll get better at gauging interest and know when to cut her loose or invest more time.
Youre young. There’s plenty of girls out there. Just learn to be out going and friendly. It’s much much easier to meet girls when your friendly than when you’re trying to act “cool” or tough.
[–]anomxka 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's some good advice/observation, thanks man.
[–]circlhat 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't let girls like these rattle you, you met a disrespectful person, it happens, move on. Most girls even if they aren't interested won't do this, this is extreme behavior on her part

Why are you hanging out with a 17 year old man. You're 20. Maturity level is gonna be a huge factor, and if you're in the states. Just no. That's illegal. Also, you should've left the moment she said seemed disinterested.
Realize that you're worth something, and your end goal isn't to be a part of a relationship.
I don't live in the US but sure she's was to young anyway. Thanks man.

1) Texting is a horrible way to build attraction. Keep it to a minimum to set up the date. You worked way too hard to get that first meeting.
2) If someone doesn't want to be around you, then just leave. I would have ended that a lot sooner.
3) She is 17, so expect immaturity for sure. The more immature girls are, the more "flashy" you have to be. They tend to want guys that look like models or are artists or whatever stereotype they are into that week.
This is fine if you just want to have fun and can play that role well.
4) Keep meeting girls. Your effort on her just to get the date tells me that you are not meeting a lot of girls. When you have a lot of opportunities in your life, you will filter out these low quality girls naturally.
Keep going and good luck.

Psych major here studying personality disorders. She does not sound like a BPD individual, just an immature teenager.
[–]anomxka 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
But would you recommend date someone with BPD? (for future occasions)
[–]Franklins_ghost 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My short answer is "no". Relationships will always be more difficult for both parties when someone is suffering from mental illness, but the success and health of a relationship depends on how the two get along together and help each other, not necessarily on the disorder itself.
BPD is a disorder characterized strongly by strong feelings of insecurity and fear of abandonment in its sufferers. These individuals are highly sensitive to feeling like they are being left out, disregarded, or doubted by their loved ones. Keep in mind that many with this disorder are not aware of it, or of their irrational thinking, and therefore their behavior. They tend to react strongly with anger and frustration and insecurity. Keep that in mind when dating someone who shows symptoms like this, because it's a very difficult set of traits to stop once someone is well into young adulthood.

Honestly I hate coffee. But in all seriousness she's just not worth it. I can't stand when I go on a date and the guy/girl I go out with is on their phone the whole time. It's just so rude. Also wtf for not wanting to see the movie with you? The point of a movie date is to see a movie together.
Just stop seeing her. She's completely immature.

____1____
I've been texting this girl for a month, she's 17
Her age is part of the problem.
Also, depending on where you live, her age might be illegal.
____2____
We argued sometimes but she always came back apologizing and starting new conversations.
You need to ask yourself why you tried so hard to get at her when it was going like this.
____3____
She was very cold and didn't look me in the eyes.....she was monosyllabic....she told me to go watch it (the movie) by myself....decided to go grab a coffee.....she told me that she didn't like coffee
By this point it was seriously strikes 1, 2 and 3 for her.
Her attitude isn't your responsibility.
____4____
Anyway, I was there sipping my coffee trying to figure out what to do and out of nowhere her phone rings...she answered and apparently it was her recent ex. I couldn't tell if she was joking or not so I played it cool.
What does it matter if she was joking or not? At that point, she had massively struck out SEVERAL times already and in general, had made it quite clear that she didn't want to be there and wasn't going to put any energy into it.
____5____
I'm persistent man, tried a lot of kino and a few jokes, she laughed once but didn't show any signs besides that.
You seem to be under the impression that this is your fault. Why?
Were you on the date by yourself? Because that's the only way you're the one solely responsible.
You WON here. Call yourself lucky that you dodged a bullet here.
Exactly. Now reading all the comments and specially this one I realize that it wasn't my fault at all. I thought I wasn't tall enough or not that witty, but she didn't make a single effort to begin with.
Thanks man.

I'm 17 and I've dated over 6 girls so far of my age and younger and one of them was exactly like that girl. She was uncouth and whenever I tried to crack up a conversation with her, she used to say she was "Busy" and couldn't talk right now. I was really mad for her because she was very beautiful. Then one day I saw her with her ex and was devastated. So, I started to hate myself not knowing that her behavior has nothing to do with me. Later, I realized that I was just wasting my time on her and moved on like a respectful man. Now, I'm in love with another girl and she shows that she's interested in me. Move on bro. There are many fishes in the sea!

I got the feeling that these girl's try to replace their lack of personality being rude and dismissive. Thanks man, I'll move on.

Just remember the 60-40 principal. 60% of someone's reaction to you has nothing to do with you. People here will tell you to move on from her, if you want to move on, that's fine. Just understand she could have just had a bad day, that's a possibility.

The only thing you need to know about girls like these, 1. Never change 2 Daddy issues. (abuse; mental, physical, emotional).
