So for one reason or another I happened ask someone for advice about how to approach a girl sitting in a park and the advice I got left me scratching my head. This is what the guy advises to always do in that situation:

  1. Walk over to her phone in hand
  2. Ask her some information related to a friend you're supposedly texting, and she just happened to be right there when you needed the info so you asked her .
  3. Notice something about her when you respond
  4. Tell her you're in a rush but you have a quick question before you go , then sit next to her
  5. Talk for a bit then stand again looking at your phone like you're about to leave .
  6. Tell her you're really in a rush then sit down for good .
  7. Find commonalities , a reason why you find that she is cool and she stands out
  8. Make plans based on the above commonalities,Exchange contact and leave. Alternatively take her on a date on the spot .

I basically told him that I'd find it hard to do all that without her knowing it's all an act, and that would make a rejection a lot harder. I said that having thought about his suggestion, that the idea of simply being myself instead would actually help give me confidence! I just feel that if someone tried a method like that on me (lets say a sale man), that I'd have so much fun pointing out the contradictions they're exposing about themselves.

He said that that's the difference between someone who practices the game, and someone who sits and thinks about it, and that only an amateur would say what I said. He said it's not lying, and that it's just being polite by using a narrative to put her at ease.

The guy swears by it. But it left me thinking that if I were genuinely in a rush and texting a friend I'd probably make a point in not going over to a pretty girl and going to someone else instead. I don't want to get a name for myself as the "I'm texting my friend guy" guy and get mocked about it.

So which one of us is wrong? I think girls can pick up on that shit and may leave it slide if you've enough going for yourself in other areas but I do believe one gets points for honesty.

Thanks
