Backwards rationalization.

If she enjoyed your body language, vocal tonality and eye contact, (and the fact that you said something so cocky) then she was going to like whatever line you used, and then backwards rationalize that the line showed you "understood her".

I do like the line, if it applies, but don't be fooled into thinking the line is good, it was YOU, guy the delivering it, that made her like it.

You were succesful where they failed because you were present. You were observant. You were paying attention to her and empathising with her. Rather than interrupting her train of thought, you joined it. You treated her like a human being and not just a target.

The tactic you employed is called "emotional prediction". You predicted what she was feeling and verbalized it. If you can do it succesfully, it forms an instant connection.

The way i see it you sir performed a floppsy, basically it's predicting a woman's next move and commenting on it. For example at the video store as she is looking for movies to pick and she reaches her hand out you say "No not that one!"

Except you did it on an emotional level, your line reasonated with her annoyed mood, even if exaggerated, she felt understood and voila!

I hear you, If we (guys) think we have it bad because at times women either won't give us the time of day, or behave illogically and irrationally; women - especially pretty ones - have to deal with unsolicited and unwelcome talks from guys coming from all directions.

That's why I prefer to use the word attraction to seduction, we've all been in situation where things just clicked and the woman could not get enough of us; dissecting those experience into useful pieces so that that experience can be duplicated over and over is what I see the study and practice of attraction all about.

And it starts with our own self, and it is the experience that other have of us.

The other guys were "creepy" because she wasn't attracted to them. Its that simple. She obviously DOES like guys approaching her in bars, despite what she says, she just prefers when guys she is attracted to do it.

To me your story is a great example of why you should approach. Even if a girl looks pissed off, is rejecting guys, you overhear her tell someone how much she hates it when guys approach her, you can STILL approach her and pick her up if you create attraction.

When someone says "you need to smile more" what they're saying is "the way you are is not okay, you need to be someone else". That's not cool at all. You came up and just said what you observed, without making a judgement about her needing to be different. The way she is is acceptable to you. Also, you probably matched her mood, rather than trying to force her into a different mood. That's called building rapport.

I actually really like this post because it shows that all these 'PUA' tricks (the negging, attempts at DHVs, forced kino) that these guys she describes are using really don't work if the person who's trying them is inherently creepy. You did what was natural to you and she could see that. If you tried these lines or tricks ('you should smile more' and then lose at an arm wrestle? BASIC SHIT) it would come off like the forced routine that it is
