I’d sue the town for damages. Qualified immunity might protect them individually from liability but it certainly doesn’t protect the town from liability for putting a man in jail for a month with zero evidence. It took them a full month to review footage. Any idiot knows that every single major supermarket and retail chain has surveillance footage all over their property. It should have taken one day and a Court order to review that footage. And shame on the piece of trash prosecutor who didn’t throw the book at the woman who lied. You have incontrovertible evidence that she lied and that she wasted government resources and you do nothing to her? Trash. She is trash and so is the prosecutor and police. Trash.
