Vigliarole (The Victim) was lured into believing the three girls were prostitutes. On March 8, 1985, they picked him up, drugged him and then drove him to one of the girls’ apartments in Harlem already kitted out with torture equipment. The closet door had been cut, a pot put in it for use as a toilet and the windows boarded up.

Over the next 15 to 20 days, Vigliarole was starved, tortured, burned, beaten, and sexually assaulted, including having a three-foot metal bar pushed up his rectum. One of the accused was later asked why they had presumed Vigliarole was homosexual. “When I stuck the bar up he wiggled,” came the response.

Donna Hylton was assigned the task of delivering the ransom note and a tape to a friend of Vigliarole, who managed to get a partial license plate number from her car. Donna and the rest of the gang were eventually traced by police.

One investigator says, “I couldn’t believe this girl who was so intelligent and nice looking could be so unemotional about what she was telling me she and her friends had done. They’d squeezed the Victim’s testicles with a pair of pliers, beat him, burned him. Actually, I thought the judge’s sentence was lenient.”

Donna’s signed statement and the recollections of investigators clearly implied she was a willing participant in the kidnaping and killing of Vigliarole.

“All the girls’ hairs were on the bedsheet they wrapped him in,” recalled one detective.
