Man is found NOT guilty of rape, but the cops keep telling his prospective employers that he "might" have done it anyway. Another reason why false allegations are so evil.

To hurt your fellow man is also to insult God.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Well, it used to be but these days nobody gives a shit about men, not even God!

[–]TryingToLearn_17382 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Hey. Don't say that. What does God have to do with this? This is the pope, in the Bible vicar (latin, in place of[!!], not representative]) is only the Holy Spirit, while in the Catholic Church the higher ups are called the "Vicar of Christ": analyzing the Bible says that it could even be blasphemy to refer to the pope or other "Vicar of Christ", because Christ has more power and authority than them. The pope isn't Christ on earth. The pope doesn't speak for him. (Papal infallibility dogma is only valid when he's talking in ex cathedra). So please don't say that. God does care about men. God doesn't have anything to do with this, why the blame?

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lighten up, it was a joke.

[–]These_Map1811 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

oh jesus

[–]TryingToLearn_17382 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If we insult even God then we just want enemies at this point. Mens Rights needs help, not enemies.

[–]dojoboy 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Catholic Church lost credibility a long, long time ago.

[–]MalkavianScum 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It was around the 1960s when left wing social activism became part and parcel of being Catholic clergy when the Catholic church officially became an absolute fucking sham (although the sexual perversion had already infested the church a while before that). 1960s feminism and 1960s hippy culture are intertwined in the post vatican II Catholic church. But of course anything I say further will warrant the magic words "conspiracy theory" despite being documented so I'll save my energy and say no more.

[–]NeatLower5126 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's the only utterance in this whole sub I can agree to!

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 35 points36 points37 points 4 years ago* (19 children) | Copy Link

He stopped just short of saying women are sacred. Wait till mothers' day, when he will probably declare that God is a woman and that men were created by Satan.

[–]Clemicus 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

He'd probably make it about Mary instead.

All that would rely is he doesn't understand the religion and it'd be ironic. Trying to align it with goodness whilst painting over all the horrible things God did, including the destruction of the Two Cities of Sin. Like the wager he had with Satan

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago* (9 children) | Copy Link

Two cities? That was nothing, at one point Sky Daddy wiped out virtually all life on earth, including all the children and most of the animals, because he was in a bad mood!

[–]MalkavianScum -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

No, it wasn't "because he was in a bad mood." It was because, according to the Bible, humanity had become entirely corrupted and debased and God is omniscient and so could see what the future looked like if things were allowed to continue. But, hey, you don't want to ACTUALLY understand what the Bible says, because that would interfere with the silly little Chris Hitchens roleplay you dummies have going on.

[–]These_Map1811 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

gods would hate you if they existed

[–]MalkavianScum 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I'm sure that sounded good in your head but it's fucking dumb. 1) you're not intelligent enough to understand the mind of a god and 2) Most gods in mythology don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves.

[–]These_Map1811 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

All gods are in mythology son

[–]MalkavianScum 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

NO SHIT, SHERLOCK. Jesus, you fedora-tipping Hitchens worshippers are more interested in dunking on people than you are in actually understanding what the fuck someone's saying.

[–]These_Map1811 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As with Maher, I agree with Hitch about half the time. Now sit down son

[–]MalkavianScum 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Bruh. Is "son" the new "kid"? Is that what weird boomers type now to sound tough on the internet? Pretty weird, but okay. Doesn't change the fact that you're ignorant.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And that justifies killing all the children and most of the animals, does it? If the God of the Old Testament exists he is a psychopath who makes Ted Bundy look like Betty White.

[–]Strigon_7 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

So all thise priests raping little boys is fine. But touching girls is an offence to god.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Kinda gives you a hint as to which of those two sins our boy is guilty of, don't it?

[–]Strigon_7 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Fucking hint hint indeed.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"Pass the Vaseline, please."

-- Pope Pedo

Too much?

[–]Strigon_7 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

For catholics maybe.

[–]Clemicus 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not really, it's much more specific than that. Maybe orthodox as a rite of passage

[–]lasciate 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What's with all this Pope spam? We already knew the church was gynocentric. It's the definition of a traditionalist institution.

Did people think the Catholic Church was previously against pedestalizing women? They pray to "Mother Mary" for intercession constantly. Noblewomen were the biggest patrons of the church. What has changed, exactly?

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's gotten worse in the last decade or so since this clown got the job.

[–]MainstreamAcceptance 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago* (21 children) | Copy Link

The church being a refered to as a feminine entity has been a point in christianity since the beginning, as the church is described as Christ's bride in Revelation and in Ephesians and in recent times the church has considered all form of violence (including violence against a women) an insult to God. If you don't like Pope Francis, fine, he's not perfect but it's nothing new or groundbreaking.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

First, it IS new because the context has changed. Calling it a mother in patriarchal times was just being nice to the wominz, calling it a mother in feminist times is taking a shit on men.

Also, nice of you to leave out all the other gynocentrism, like his glorification of mothers as if they are angels on earth.

[–]velvetalocasia 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

If you want to somehow connect the „newness“ to feminism (which is bs), then this changed context is what, 50 years old at least?

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Show me a pope kissing this much female ass fifty years ago.

[–]velvetalocasia 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So saying „don’t hit women“ is kissing ass? Or using the term of „holy mother church“ (like the last 2000 years) is kissing ass?

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

LOL! Nice try. Here's some quotes for ya...

"women ‘keep’ the world."

“Women who, seeing with the heart, can combine dreams and aspirations with concrete reality, without drifting into abstraction and sterile pragmatism.”

“This is the place of women in the Church, the great place, from which other places, more concrete and less important, are derived. But the Church is Mother, the Church is woman,”

The church is woman. Noooo, no asskissing going on there.

[–]velvetalocasia 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

No, that’s sweet talking women in absence of change, as women still don’t have equal standing in the Catholic church and can’t become priests.

[–]MalkavianScum -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, since Vatican II, which occurred when Catholicism became filled with new-age left wing activism and all of the secular poison that is evident today.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Do you think that a religion, especially one as large as Christianity, would change their ideals due to the feminist movement?

And there's no need to cherry pick. This is the religion that claims all women should live to serve their man, and such. It's far from siding with feminists as you might see it.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Yes, i do.

Here's another gynocentric cherry for you...

“the Church is woman,”

[–]ComprehensiveHat8969 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Dude Christianity has been going on over two thousand years, it won’t change because some women want to be more equal

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Nooooo, Chrisitianity has never changed. It's exactly the same as in the beginning -- hence the female Anglican bishops. LOL!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordination_of_women_in_the_Anglican_Communion#Episcopal_Church_in_the_United_States

[–]WikiSummarizerBot 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ordination of women in the Anglican Communion

Episcopal Church in the United States

The first woman to become a bishop in the Anglican Communion was Barbara Harris, who was ordained suffragan bishop of Massachusetts in the United States in February 1989. As of August 2017, 24 women have since been elected to the episcopate across the church. The election in December 2009 and consecration on 15 May 2010 of Mary Glasspool, who is openly gay and lives with her partner of 20 years, as a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Los Angeles attracted attention owing to the continued controversy over gay bishops in Anglicanism.

Oh dear, do you mind at least staying with the some Church? You started of with the Catholic Church/Pope and now you bring „evidence“ from a whole other denomination (one that split centuries ago) to proof that the pope is somehow gynocentric….do you even hear yourself?

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Dude Christianity...

Not all Christianity is Catholicism and you know it.

[–]velvetalocasia -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I didn’t say that….you try to mesh them all into one.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You pretended i was addressing a comment about Catholicism when you knew full well i was addressing a comment about Christianity. Now stop harassing me.

[–]sku11_bit 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yea with times religion also changes like the bible to fit the times that its written, its been wrongly translated and changed to fit the current era like back then to control people

[–]KalegNar 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Also, January 1st is the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. It's not surprising if he might be more focused on women than men in remarks on that day. (And also assuming Breitbart is giving proper context of the quote.)

[–]MalkavianScum 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Christ's bride has always meant that the church is married to and IN SERVICE TO Christ.

[–]velvetalocasia 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (67 children) | Copy Link

It was always mother church…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_church

The pope says he doesn't think people should hit women.

It's strange what people choose to get upset over.

[–]ScarAdvanced9562 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

Wouldn’t it be better and more humanitarian to say “to hurt a human is to insult god” because we are his creations and shit?

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, and this guy knows it.

[+]EnvironmentalWar4627 -13 points-12 points-11 points 4 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

Shouldn't the name of this group be 'humans rights' and not mens rights? Wouldn't that be more humanitarian?

No. Focusing on specific groups that need help is perfectly appropriate. And getting upset over it because it's not your group is why the 'all lives matter' people get made fun of.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Most violence is inflicted on men, so it is not WOMEN who are the group needing specific help. Also, your mocking of ALM is racist as it is mostly WHITE people being murdered by pigs. Find me one Oscar Grant and i will find you three Daniel Shavers.

[–]Legitimate-Ad-6267 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminist logic.

[+]EnvironmentalWar4627 -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Most gendered violence is inflicted on women.

And black people are disproportionately hurt by the justice system.

Those are facts whether you like them or not.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Gendered violence? Nice try, but we are discussing violence in general. Also, MALES are disproportionately hurt by the justice system too so i guess you will now rush off and start Male Lives Matter.

You are a racist, a misandrist, and a bad person. Stop wasting my time.

[–]EnvironmentalWar4627 -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The pope said not to abuse women...and you got offended. You really have to ask some tough questions about yourself if saying not to hit women offends you.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, he said it is an offence against Sky Daddy. THAT is what offends me. As for hitting women, same rule as for hitting men -- only in self defence or defence of others. Now, please stop wasting my time with your sophistry.

[–]ScarAdvanced9562 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

what you’re saying is similar to white lives matter.

i mean, they do matter, but when black people men are disproportionately being effected by the justice system, gang violence, police shootings, suicides, it’s a bit disingenuous.

[–]MBV-09-C -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not quite, he didn't say "don't abuse women" or "abusing women is bad", if you'll read the article, he actually goes into great detail about how women, but more specifically mothers, are absolutely selfless, virtuous beings of pure love.

His word choice and obsession with praise flat out conflates women with divinity, and considering who is saying it, that's an insanely high pedestal he's placing them on.

[–]tenchineuro 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most gendered violence is inflicted on women.

By definition.

If a woman kills a man because he's a man it's not gendered violence.

[–]vwatchrepair 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Black people are more likely to commit crime.

That's like saying "X" race of people are killed most by trains, and that means trains are racist. Well, if "X" race stands in front of trains way more than anyone else.....that's gonna happen. 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]ScarAdvanced9562 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Thing is BLM refers to an actual injustice. Black people are disproportionately killed by police.

On the other hand, rates of IPV are extremely similar 19% of males and 23% of females have faced IPV, and women did perpetrate most of the IPV

Also the amount of unidirectional abuse from females to males is over double the reverse.

This doesn’t even factor the increase in non-reporting from males.

It’s not even apples to oranges, it’s apples to fucking airplanes.

i’m not saying women don’t have it bad, i’m just saying you’re wrong

[–]ComprehensiveHat8969 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They aren’t disproportionately killed by police. They are killed more on average because they commit more violent crimes and are more likely to act as a threat.

[–]tenchineuro 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Thing is BLM refers to an actual injustice. Black people are disproportionately killed by police.

Odd, the police kill more white men than black men.

[–]ScarAdvanced9562 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

disproportionately. total amount by race shot over total race population.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So more dead white men don't matter, gotcha.

SpunkyDred is a terrible bot instigating arguments all over Reddit whenever someone uses the phrase apples-to-oranges. I'm letting you know so that you can feel free to ignore the quip rather than feel provoked by a bot that isn't smart enough to argue back.

SpunkyDred and I are both bots. I am trying to get them banned by pointing out their antagonizing behavior and poor bottiquette.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nice try, but anyone with any brains can see from the quote in the post title that the problem i have with it is that it is an offence to God. But then, you already knew that.

[–]velvetalocasia -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

Very strange….this is at least the third post about it. As if not hitting women was an outrageous ask!

[–]tenchineuro 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

No, not hitting anyone is an outrageous act.

[–]velvetalocasia 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

To make it really clear to you: double negation changes the meaning and act is different from ask.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

What does 'ask' have to do with anything?

[–]velvetalocasia 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Did you read you own comment?

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I did not use the word 'ask'.

[–]velvetalocasia 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Right, you used act.

You wrote: „No, not hitting anyone is an outrageous act.“

NO,NOT HITTING ANYONE IS AN OUTRAGEOUS ACT.

So not hitting is outrageous to you….which is why I asked, who you want to hit, if it’s not women.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

So not hitting is outrageous to you….which is why I asked, who you want to hit, if it’s not women.

No, you find not hitting anyone an outrageous act.

You object to the idea of not hitting anyone and think this implies wanting to hit someone else.

Very strange….this is at least the third post about it. As if not hitting women was an outrageous ask!

No, not hitting anyone is an outrageous act.

So you want to hit someone else?

Oh, you used the word 'ask', not me.

To clarify:

No, you seem to think that 'not hitting anyone' is an outrageous act and that only 'not hitting women' is appropriate and correct.

[–]velvetalocasia -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

So you want to hit someone else?

[–]tenchineuro 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

No, you don't think hitting men is wrong.

Not a big surprise, few women do.

[–]velvetalocasia 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Where did I say that?

[–]tenchineuro 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

When you objected interpreted the idea that it's wrong to hit anyone as a desire to hit women. You clearly think the idea of not hitting men is offensive.

You clearly don’t know what double negation is and how that changes the meaning of a sentence.

[–]tenchineuro 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]tenchineuro 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]velvetalocasia 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yep, you should only use double negation if you understand it. You obviously don’t.

[–]tenchineuro 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, right.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It's not an outrageous ask, but neither is it an offence against the Sky Daddy and you know that THAT is the problem here.

[–]velvetalocasia 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

So you are now the authority in deciding what does and what doesn’t offend god, before the pope? Interesting.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Nice try, but NOBODY is an authority in deciding that as the Sky Daddy probably does not exist and even if he does there is no way for us to know what he thinks.

[–]velvetalocasia 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So if you don’t believe in it, why does it bother you?

For the believers in the Catholic Church, the pope is the successor of Christ and the closes link to god, so yes for them the pope has this authority.

[–]MalkavianScum 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not a neckbearded "muh skeptic" Hitchens-worshipping atheist type but if anyone still believes the corrupted Catholic church to be any kind of servant of God then I've got an NFT to sell them.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

So it was always tainted by gynocentrism. Now it's worse, because times have changed and so the meaning has changed.

[–]velvetalocasia 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

The meaning has not changed at all. The church was always depicted as the nourishing mother of all the believers.

Where do you see any changed meaning here?

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Things have to be interpreted according to their context and you know it. The context has changed from patriarchal to anti-patriarchal so the meaning of "mother church" has also changed. But then, you already knew that.

[–]velvetalocasia 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How is the nourishing mother different in anti-patriarchal society, then it was before? By the way the Catholic Church is still very much patriarchal.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I have already told you to stop wasting my time.

[–]velvetalocasia 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You mean idol worship of Mother Mary?

[–]velvetalocasia 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I mean the term „holy mother church“ (no not Maria the church itself as organization).

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It was never especially a Christian Church. It even re-wrote the 10 commandments, probably because it violates several of those in the Bible.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Is not every christian required to follow the 10 commandments? Or are they allowed to re-write them too?

[–]velvetalocasia 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is gold….you do know that the 10 commandments originally come out of the holy texts of Judaism? They where given to the Jews. So technically every Christian church got them from another religion and interpreted them.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's the ultimate excuse, isn't it?

"Huh...God did it...?"

"Oh, that's alright then."

-- Joseph

[–]velvetalocasia 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Was he? As far as I remember, she was pregnant before she was married to Joseph and he knew that before he married her. And wouldn’t being cucked not include the wife having sex with someone else?

[–]Clemicus -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

As far as I remember, she was pregnant before she was married to Joseph and he knew that before he married her.

Cucked as in raising some other man's child

And wouldn’t being cucked not include the wife having sex with someone else?

This is probably relevant:

What do you want to say?

[–]velvetalocasia 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

She didn’t have sex with anybody else. But even if you don’t believe in the Bible, than she didn’t have sex with anybody else while being married to Joseph. He knew that the kid wasn’t his and he willingly took on the responsibility.

No cuck there.

[–]Clemicus -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

But even if you don’t believe in the Bible, than she didn’t have sex with anybody else while being married to Joseph. He knew that the kid wasn’t his and he willingly took on the responsibility.

There's just so much wrong with that I really don't know where to start...

No cuck there.

He was cucked by the Holy Spirit to raise Jesus. He'd have to understand the responsibility itself or the gravity

She didn’t have sex with anybody else

So God just trigger fingered Mary and said, boom, you're pregnant with my child, my Child

Seriously though, it was a sin to have sex outside of wedlock. The whole story of Joseph was probably changed so it'd be more acceptable to those of the same religion

You framed it as Joseph stepping up becoming a father to Jesus whilst ignoring God sidestepped his responsibility and in turn Jesus metaphorised Judaism to become Christianity (who then was executed on Passover by the Romans)

It's a bit like you stating St Christopher was at a disadvantage, when that's a huge understatement

[–]velvetalocasia 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Thats literally what the Bible says, she got pregnant by the holy spirit, no sex involved. Depending on the flavor of Christianity, it’s even believed that she stayed a virgin her whole life.

Joseph got to know before the marriage took place, that she was pregnant and debated himself on marrying her anyway and then an angel came to him in his dream and told him that this child was from god and he should name him Jesus.

Cucking according to the dictionary is a wife taking a lover while married. That did not happen with Mary and Joseph no matter if you believe in immaculate conception or not.

I‘m not Jewish but according to Wikipedia:

„The written Torah never forbids sex Outside the context of marriage, with the exception of adultery[31][32] and incest.[32]“

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaism_and_sexuality

[–]Zinziberruderalis 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

What happened to Joseph?

[–]Clemicus 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

He wasn't an important enough character to focus on when Jesus came back around age 30 (that's approx when he died)

He didn't even have a last name /s

[–]MalkavianScum 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you subscribe to Catholic or Orthodox theology (which I do, although I am not a Christian) then Jesus is the ultimate gigachad because he conceived HIMSELF. He was his own damn son. That's fucking DOPE.

[–]Zinziberruderalis -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Some NT scholars think Jesus didn't exist anyway e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwUZOZN-9dc. (Not carrying water for Carrier, I've heard creepy stuff about him).

No idea who Carrier is, I've saved it to my watch later list 👍

Not really relevant. Some years ago I had an epiphany when watching a Klingon centric episode of Deep Space 9. All the stories from the bible were most likely campfire stories. You'd have people recount the stories, but to make them interesting they'd lie a bit and over time they'd become more fiction than fact

[–]MalkavianScum 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Again, the post title makes it clear that the problem is claiming it is an insult to Sky Daddy. Has he ever said such a thing about men, despite men being most of the victims of violence?

[–]velvetalocasia 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don’t know, I don’t follow his speeches so closely. But he does pray for end of conflicts/wars/terrorism and violence in general very regularly.

I don’t see why this fires you up like this? Especially as you yourself don’t seem to have any love for the church or to be religious at all.

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Again, stop hassling me.

[–]velvetalocasia 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]MalkavianScum 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So the pope is like the holy Greta Thunberg? "If I pray reaaaally hard, despite having free will and being responsible for the Earth as a human being, a shepherd of the Earth, then all the bad things will go away, including all the pedo priests I have protected and the homosexuals I've violated the Bible by allowing into the church." I'm not anti-Christian at all, but Catholics who still believe the pope is anything other than a political figure are absolutely deluded.

[–]shaunm1022 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I believes that both men and women are equal in the eyes of the lord but if women are above men than I guess the bible lied how can I believe a religion that lies

Where did you get that women are above men?

[–]ThePigmanAgain[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

[–]velvetalocasia 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

These are not the same thing as saying that the church is IS a mother, much less is it like saying she is a WOMAN. Not all women are mothers, so in what way would the church be like a non-mother? It's gynocentrism, and that makes this man an evil bastard.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh, sure. Being against feminist/sjw bullshit automatically means that. Makes sense to me.

[–]velvetalocasia 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There are two statements in this op ….. calling the church „holy mother church“ (which was done the last 2000 years, so that did not change in his lifetime) and that women shouldn’t be hit….so if that’s the reason, why that guy is atheist now, I think the question if hitting women was a big part of his belief, is a justified question.

[–]tenchineuro -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Apparently hitting men is A-OK with you.

[–]velvetalocasia 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You clearly don't think that it's wrong to hit anybody.

[–]velvetalocasia 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

SJW Pope goes full-On gynocentric claiming that "the church is a mother" and that "To Hurt a Woman Is to Insult God"

The Catholic Church did not think so during the Witch Trials in the Middle Ages. Has God changed his mind about this?

[–]peter_venture 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The witch trials of the Middle Ages accused both men and women of being witches. So, they were equal opportunity accusers.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

True, but they seem to not heard that hurting a woman is insulting god.

Actually I dimly recall that in Europe more men were killed, but that might be wrong.

[–]peter_venture 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I also heard that more men were killed, so my thought was that they held back on killing women so as to not insult god too much.

[–]ThatOneCrusader1 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess so

[–]xdzgor 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Her mind.

[–]KalegNar 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Witch trials were predominantly Protestant. While there were a few people convicted of witchcraft by the Inquisition, those were in cases of repeat offense. In fact, there were cases of the Inquisition taking to task false accusers. And in most of the guilty cases it was basically "Yeah you messed up. But it's an understandable mistake. So go to confession and we're good."

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Really?

  • 'Malleus Maleficarum'

  • Witch hysteria really took hold in Europe during the mid-1400s, when many accused witches confessed, often under torture, to a variety of wicked behaviors. Within a century, witch hunts were common and most of the accused were executed by burning at the stake or hanging. Single women, widows and other women on the margins of society were especially targeted.

  • Between the years 1500 and 1660, up to 80,000 suspected witches were put to death in Europe. Around 80 percent of them were women thought to be in cahoots with the Devil and filled with lust. Germany had the highest witchcraft execution rate, while Ireland had the lowest.

  • The publication of “Malleus Maleficarum”—written by two well-respected German Dominicans in 1486—likely spurred witch mania to go viral. The book, usually translated as “The Hammer of Witches,” was essentially a guide on how to identify, hunt and interrogate witches.

  • "Malleus Maleficarum" labeled witchcraft as heresy, and quickly became the authority for Protestants and Catholics trying to flush out witches living among them. For more than 100 years, the book sold more copies of any other book in Europe except the Bible.

I submit that there is a slight difference between being put to death and going to confession.

  • Peak of the trials: 1560–1630

  • The period of the European witch trials, with the largest number of fatalities, seems to have occurred between 1560 and 1630.[27]

  • Authors have debated whether witch trials were more intense in Catholic or Protestant regions. However, the intensity of persecutions had not so much to do with Catholicism or Protestantism as such, as there are examples of both intense and less intense witchcraft persecutions from both Catholic and Protestant regions of Europe. In Catholic Spain and Portugal for example, the numbers of witch trials were few because the Spanish and the Portuguese Inquisition preferred to focus on the crime of public heresy rather than witchcraft, whereas Protestant Scotland had a much larger number of witchcraft trials. In contrast, the witch trials in Protestant Netherlands stopped earlier and were among the least numerous in Europe, while the large-scale mass witch trials which took place in the autonomous territories of the Catholic prince-bishops in Southern Germany were infamous in all of the Western World, and the contemporary writer Herman Löher described how they affected the population within them:[28]

    • The Roman Catholic subjects, farmers, winegrowers, and artisans in the episcopal lands are the most terrified people on earth, since the false witch trials affect the German episcopal lands incomparably more than France, Spain, Italy or Protestants.[28]
  • The mass witch trials which took place in Southern Catholic Germany in waves between the 1560s and the 1620s could continue for years and result in hundreds of executions of all sexes, ages and classes. These included the Trier witch trials (1581–1593), the Fulda witch trials (1603–1606), the Eichstätt witch trials (1613–1630), the Würzburg witch trial (1626–1631), and the Bamberg witch trials (1626–1631).

  • In 1590, the North Berwick witch trials occurred in Scotland, and were of particular note as the king, James VI, became involved himself. James had developed a fear that witches planned to kill him after he suffered from storms while traveling to Denmark in order to claim his bride, Anne, earlier that year. Returning to Scotland, the king heard of trials that were occurring in North Berwick, and ordered the suspects to be brought to him—he subsequently believed that a nobleman, Francis Stewart, 5th Earl of Bothwell, was a witch, and after the latter fled in fear of his life, he was outlawed as a traitor. The king subsequently set up royal commissions to hunt down witches in his realm, recommending torture in dealing with suspects, and in 1597, he wrote a book about the menace that witches posed to society, entitled Daemonologie.[29]

  • The more remote parts of Europe, as well as North America, were reached by the witch panic later in the 17th-century, among them being the Salzburg witch trials, the Swedish Torsåker witch trials and, somewhat later, in 1692, the Salem witch trials in New England.

Say what you want, the Catholics were definitely putting accused witches to death.

Honestly OP, feminism is no different from a religion...

Feminism behaves exactly similar to how religion behaved for thousands of years.

-They engage in virtue signalling and anybody who disagrees with them is a mysogynist (blasphemer in religion).

-They portray opinions as 'facts' and use half baked studies as 'proofs' of their theories. (Similar to how religion portrays unconfirmed observations as facts).

-They engage in indoctrination of preteen boys and girls from a very early age. And anybody who disagrees is a 'potential rapist' or 'incel'.

-They send their 'missionaries' (feminist scholars) to other countries to convert more people into feminists. Often using monetary incentives. And those countries that refuse are considered as 'enemy'.

-They even invented their very own satan - Patriarchy.

Feminism is the neo-religion of 20th century.

Church is bowing down to a superior and more widespread religion of the times..
One religion bowing down and getting assimilated into a superior religion has happened many times in history.

Nothing new about it.

Consider me an atheist, both when it comes to the church, or when it comes to feminism.

I'm just gonna chime in with others that the Church being referred to in the maternal way is nothing new at all. There's a longstanding tradition of the Church being the Bride of Christ and other such imagery. So you're really cherry-picking at something without seeing the full context.

Also, January 1st is the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God in the Roman Rite. (I'm not sure in terms of the Eastern Rites.) So is it really a surprise the Pope might choose a more woman-focused quote, assuming Breitbart is giving proper context, on a day that honors the most important woman in the Catholic faith?

It would kind of be like complaining about a lack of mentioning mothers on the Feast of St. Joseph.

The Church one is true, though. I don't know if this is told in America, but where I live and other countries it's "Father God, Mother Church" (including Italy), and in lots of languages (including Italian) Church is feminine, not neutral. About the woman thing (not trying to defend him, of course he should talk about both) I think he's old fashioned "never hit a woman not even with a flower" mode... Not SJW.

The implication there is that the father is ABOVE the mother, as clearly God is more important than the church and the church's only purpose should be to SERVE God. Ask the secular pope about this, and I doubt he'd say the father is above the mother. Not since the 1960s infiltration of activists in the church will you hear that from any high-ranking clergyman.
