Psyhacks mentioned a study titled "what attractive women want" or something along those lines. The traits at the top of the list were "sexy"(probably meaning physically attractive) and "successful". The two traits at the bottom of the list were "intelligent" and "kind". Tells you all you need to know.

As someone who has hung around intelligent people a lot and used to put a lot of value on being an intelligent person and dating intelligent people...yeah, I would say I learned quickly enough intelligence is not a quality worth prioritizing in that particular way. Of course you want an intelligent partner and friends, but if that's the flag they fly and their chief trait which rules over all others, I'd advise most people run for the hills. And yes, earning potential would certainly come higher than being very intelligent within that realm. Intelligence is a trivial characteristic in comparison.

Moral virtue, that's kind of a toss up because it needs to be shared moral virtues. And they need to be practiced in the same way. Lots of people think they have a strong sense of justice, and I mostly think they're a cruel, arrogant asshat who lives their life thinking they're better than other people. But mostly moral virtue is superior to earning potential provided it's not an excuse for being a thumb.

That's not a question that can really be answered because it's actually pretty complicated. A woman wants a man who offers what is for her a workable package of traits. That means not only meeting certain specific to her thresholds on all three of those attributes but also having specific to her things within those attributes. That's just to be in the game at all.

Then after that you're looking at increasing levels of workability of the overall package.

Women ask "well how does that go?"

You could be incredibly wealthy incredibly moral and incredibly intelligent but if all those three things together mean you're a Russian on a collision course with Putin then you might have to just take what you can get as woman after woman looks at you and thinks you're an incredible guy but let's not.

Women's desire is very narrative. Women are constantly turning down men they feel offer them a terrible story.

Elon Musk likely has access to far fewer women than you probably think. He's a terrible story in so many ways. Poor Grimes... she's a laughing stock.

Considering that a large percentage of American women are liberal, I can't help but conclude that all these women couldn't care less about men's morals. If anything, many of these women label moral men as "bigots" "hateful" " misogynist" etc... So, for instance, if you believe that sex belongs in the marital bed, they're likely to accuse you of being a "bigot".. If you say that abortion is murder, they will call you "misogynist".

I value the ability to reach a level of financial income/comfort to have a family. This "level" will be different for each person.

Working full time, I make slightly more than the median income where I live currently, which is a pretty HCOL area. This actually is a decent accomplishment as I work in a field known for being overworked and underpaid. I just turned 35. I made the median income in my late 20s. For me personally, my ideal mate would make the same amount of money as me. If inflation wasn't going on, I would lower this standard to making a little bit less than me as well. I state these things because I am old enough and experienced enough to know how much money it takes to have a family and not be financially frazzled.

However, other people with a different "level" will disagree with me. I'm not particularly materialistic, introverted and Im quite simple. Actually many of the men Ive dated were more "bougie" in their tastes than me so it really depends.

Definitely not. Intelligence and morality/ethical values are paramount for long term compatibility. I’m a high earner myself though, so maybe if I was really struggling his financial situation would be more important to me.

I personally care a lot about moral and ethical values but being a good person doesn’t mean I want to date someone, it’s just a requirement for me to date someone. Having money and earning potential is also important because I like someone with goals and therefore earning potential. I have also noticed that people who come from wealth have no drive to succeed or improve so I’m not interested in them even if they had the same amount of money.

Obviously it’s different for every woman but for me, it’s all important and each thing must be true for me to consider dating long term.

For me, personally, intelligence is at the top of my list. Intelligence and a good income/earning potential tend to go hand in hand.
