I want to take a moment to applaud the Daily Caller for their dedication to journalistic ethics.... notice that on their title it says that he says she falsely accused him of rape.

HuffPo on the other hand: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/03/emma-sulkowicz-mattress-rape-columbia-university_n_5755612.html

Columbia University Student Will Drag Her Mattress Around Campus Until Her Rapist Is Gone

website inspired by the accuser.: http://www.carryingtheweighttogether.com/

A facebook post of theirs:

Criminalization is NOT the answer! Check out this piece by our Director, Zoe, and friends at Know Your IX: "Proposals to eliminate or weaken the campus system in favor of a criminal response will harm survivors. These ideas ignore the fact that rape is a form of discrimination that keeps us from accessing education. They empower the same systems that are perpetrating violence against communities of color and LGBTQ people, and separating immigrant families. They rely on a system that is already failing to deliver justice to survivors... We believe that a strong, civil rights based campus system is integral to ending this violence once and for all."

Do you agree with this position?

And some background info: The accuser received an award from the National Organization of Women. The premier feminist organization of the US.

She was invited to the State of the Union Address by an American Senator (Gillibrand)

The school in question is being sued on account of their alleged participation in the harassment, by allowing the accuser to use this stunt as a grade able art assignment (performance art), and by also allowing a hostile culture to develop against the accused.

Would this assignment and the following harassment been allowed to happen if she was a male with a gripe against a female? Discuss.

Edit: changing the flair to discussion as I want Purples to give their opinions as well.
