I'm making this CMV because I will offer a couple of points that need to be addressed to make me consider BP beliefs.

First, I will clarify that I did not have trouble with women even before the TRP. I am currently in a RP LTR and happy. I do not hate women, nor am I bitter. I currently work in STEM. I was in the fire department, in college I was in a fraternity, I played rugby, I was in the merchant marines, and I've volunteered, so I've done many others things as well, and I have friends from many different groups. TRP never helped me prescriptively, there was just a lot of stuff I agreed with, and I saw that some men needed help. The beliefs they had were ones that most people I know had, but they were simply being frank about it, or using heuristics in a hyperbolic manner when necessary.

That's not to say I haven't met BPers, but they tended to be young, feminist types found on college campuses or in certain cliques in some cities, far from the "everyone else that isn't TRP" they claim to be. Even many of the ones who act BP seemed unhappy with BP thoughts when given the full chance to express themselves. It's that it seemed to me to come from a more entitled, ignorant group that many people eventually grow out of once they have responsibility forced upon them.

I suspect most will just chalk this up to confirmation bias, however, I would wager its the same for the BPers who think everyone is BP, and RP is just a small section of the internet. So I find it very interesting having debates on PPD. To me, it seems TBP is waging a war on reality. Here are my main grievances:

  • RP has a systematized model that accurately describes human relationships, including both the RPers and the BPers that deny its existence. I have interacted with a large number and wide range of people, unlike what is assumed about TRPers before they start lifting, and it seems to fit with a large majority of people both RP and BP. To deny the trend, leads me to believe BPers are the ones with truly limited interactions, and are suffering from confirmation bias, how is this less plausible than RP's supposed confirmation bias? If you don't deny the trend, and deny the explanation, where is your model? ("Special snowflakes" is not a model.)

  • TBP has a pseudo-religious ethical philosophy with unsubstantiated extensions of moral duties to others, much like faith, even though many claim they don't have a religion. This is often a black box and is an answer that can not be questioned. Why is there no justification for this, except what can only be described as faith and groupthink? Especially when it is further claimed that it does not come from faith. (I am not religious either.)

Finally, I will note that I don't condone any moralizing that TRP does either when they extend those duties to others (even though many agree), it is not what I am agreeing with. If you use moralizing examples without first justifying that ethical philosophy, it will be pointless.
