First time posting here, so hopefully I'm not breaking any rules!

What I'm wondering about is other people's experience with waiting until marriage. Personally, I'm not religious, but a while ago I decided that waiting until marriage is something I want to do. My main reasons are that I believe it's a good way to show loyalty and devotion to your future partner, I'm not willing to risk pregnancy at this time, and I believe that losing your virginity with someone who you love dearly and plan on spending the rest of your life with would be exceptionally special.

More recently, I've been reading about human sexuality and things that make a relationship work. I have also had discussions with various people about this topic, including my partner. I'm having doubts about waiting, and whether it really is worth it. Many of these doubts stem from my worries of not having a satisfying sex life down the road, or having incompatible sex drives, something that you can't really predict before marriage, as far as I know. My partner is somewhat supportive of my decision to wait, as in he says that he might be able to wait under the right circumstances, but he doesn't agree with what I'm doing and doesn't understand why I would do it.

I'd like to hear about your guys' experience with choosing to wait or not to wait! All input is welcome :)
