I don't see anything wrong with any interracial pairings.

Your 2 year old daughter is not going to be indoctrinated by one night out with your mom and your mom's friend. Cool your jets. Also, some feminist marches are fringe/far-left circuses propagandizing for various bizarre ideological crusades. Others, like many of the recent anti-Trump women's marches, are pretty tepid and inoffensive. While nominally feminist they are more about expressing displeasure with the government than they are about propagandizing for some kind of "SJW agenda."

Christian Grey is a fictional character. Aziz Ansari is a real person. Therefore, Christian can't actually hurt them, and if any particular thing he does turns them off they can flip the page. Also, Christian's behavior and Aziz' are not actually very similar at all.

It sounds like she to break up with long-distance guy and make you her new boyfriend, but she hasn't worked up the courage to ask yet. Either because she still feels for him, or because she sense or knows you don't want her as your girlfriend. So: If you do want her to be your girlfriend, it's time to call the question. You say, look, when you're asking me not to see other girls, it kind of sounds like you want us to be more serious, but that's not possible while you're still with someone else. …

I'm gonna guess it's because you like reading. I love books myself! I would recommend branching out though. The various red pill books mostly rephrase and repackage the same ideas, and there's so much out there more rewarding than re-reading the same thing too many times.

"Now I feel that my reputation has been damaged and now they see me as lame." That's almost certainly the GAD talking. If they're being standoffish or acting weird around you, stop and ask yourself whether your anxious behaviors may have them wondering if you have something against them.

You described both "Sarah" and "the Asian" as attractive, but you said you weren't attract TO the Asian even though she is in fact attractive. You told Sarah to get away from you and then later insulted her for no reason. Okay, so you've had sex before. 10 points for Gryffindor. The question is: do you want to be spending your time chasing casual sex right now? Is that rewarding for you? If you like casual sex, you should try to get over your "hatred" and "disgust" for "bar women". If you don't …

People who are sexually abused in childhood do often grow up to have a lot of sexual partners. This can be due to a number of factors, including --Compulsive need to re-create traumatic experiences --Desire to reassert control of their sexuality --being trained to believe that sex is their value or purpose --going through a lot of breakups due to generally dysfunctional behavior or sexual anxiety and so on.

It's bullshit, basically. There's a chemical called oxytocin which is active in the brain during various friendly OR unfriendly social interactions. You'll see oxytocin increase during breastfeeding, during arguments, stressful enocunters with strangers or new social groups, and in some sexual encounters, among other cases. We don't really understand what oxytocin does or whether it does the same thing in all situations, but people like to assume that it helps you "bond" with children and lovers…

Fetlife is not designed to be a hookup site; in fact it was specifically designed to be difficult to use that way. People still try and occasionally succeed, but you're swimming against the current. Also, unless you have exceptional skills with rope or something, photos of women you've had sex with will probably not impress anyone on FetLife. You're much better off building a profile to highlight your personality and your best features than just showing off your conquests. Because women post sel…

Do you actually want to be having casual sex? It kind of sounds like you're disgusted by the whole scene, so why put yourself through all that? I mean, if I hated women I wouldn't spend my nights trying to pick them up; that just sounds like a recipe for having a bad time. I recommend that you reinvest your time in reading good books or exercising or teaching yourself a new language or reconnecting with old friends. I'd also make time with a therapist to figure out why you feel like you have to …

Racism is a big part of it. Also, depending on how Americanized they are, they might have been raised with cultural expectations about how to flirt or how to date. My other question would be to ask if you're comparing your Asian friends to White people with similar habits and lifestyles, or to White people in general? People of any race who spend their youths studying to the exclusion of their social life can struggle with dating for a few years while they catch up on life experience.

If you don't live together I think it's totally normal to want a night apart every once in a while. That's part of the whole "not living together" deal. Personally I tend not to sleep well when someone's in bed with me, even an established partner, so I get it.

Might be that she is enjoying it but is inhibited from showing it for some reason. Might be she's just not that into you. Might be she's kinky in some way y'all haven't figured our yet and vanilla sex doesn't really excite her. If you want to fix it you're going to have to get hr talking about things she enjoys, has enjoyed, wants to try, or likes to watch / read about in porn.

Dump her with prejudice and serve her notice to vacate. Unfortunately you probably can't legally force her out without about a month's warning depending on where you live. Get a restraining order if an only if it helps you get her out of your house faster. If she moves out, don't bother. Restraining orders off very little protection and in some cases actually put you in MORE danger than lying low and letting it go. Source: The Gift Of Fear, by Gavin de Becker.

Here's a recent article from my university outlining the feminist critique of BPD. As for sourcing my factual claims, you might actually want to start with Wikipedia. Their page on Borderline Personality Disorder has 180 footnotes! Some highlights: As is the case with other mental disorders, the causes of BPD are complex and not fully agreed upon.[33] Evidence suggests that BPD and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) may be related in some way.[34] Most researchers agree that a history of chil…

Yes and no. Listening doesn't hurt in that it generally doesn't make someone lose attraction to you. The women you're comforting most likely already decided not to fuck you before they poured their hearts out, so comforting doesn't cost you your chance because you had no chance. However, time is finite. Time spent bonding with friends is time not spent trying to get laid. In that sense it's a handicap.

The goodlookingloser article is flawed in the way most pua writing and much red pill writing is flawed; it doesn't present you tools to achieve your goals, it tells you what your goals should be. All his piece really says is that validation and sex are not the same thing, and that the more time you spend pursuing validation the less time you have to pursue sex. Since he's a pua he assumes that his readers' #1 goals is to have more sex. That's the context for his advice. if you want to a have sex…

I have great respect for Linehan. Developing DBT was an incredibly important achievement. It's a little too twee for me to try it myself but the evidence in favor of it is quite compelling. In fact, her work substantially contributed to my BPD skepticism. To be clear, though -- BPD skepticism is not a position I came up with on my own. Several of my close friends have at one time been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. None of them have the diagnosis now; they were all later diagnosed with other disorders, and treating those disorders resolved their BPD symptoms. BPD is diagnosed almost exclusively in women, leading many people to conclude that psychologists interpret men's and women's behavior differently and that borderline is just an illusion created by observer bias.

Sort of. Gattofila is right to point out that psych disorders are serious and complicated things, that you can't diagnose people you've never met based on one or two actions, and that people who are "normal" in the sense that they don't have a disorder can still end up doing "crazy" thing. Mania and depression are complicated things. Each is a package of different emotions and behaviors that absolutely can't be reduced to "happy" and "sad". Equating manic with happy is particularly foolish and m…

You say "realize they fucked up" but I think you mean "become irrationally convinced they fucked up". Very few "betas" will become "alphas". If they realize the guy they dumped has turned into a real catch, that's sad, but it doesn't mean they made a mistake.
/r/askTRP11/09/16 12:38 AM

This kind of thing is exactly why alpha and beta are reductive concepts and confused to the point of uselessness. To some people, alpha means "high status in general society" someone with wealth, prestige, and authority. To some people, it means "high status within a scene or social group". Someone with "cred", whose opinion is respected, who has a lot of friends, and whose friends follow his lead. To others alpha means "archetypically masculine outsider personality". Someone aggressive, dynamic…

It's good news in that she clearly still cares about you and values your approval. It's not necessarily good news in that it means you may need to change your approach. Something about the new you is more attractive to her than the old you, but the old you obviously cared about her, while the new doesn't. What she wants is for the new you to care as much as the old one did, which might be a paradox. The way forward is to combine aspects of both personas. You'll want to bring back a few of your o…

Not quite. While bipolar 1 and 2 do have phases usually last weeks, and still last several days in the "rapid cycling" variant, there is also cyclothymia, a bipolar-like condition with extremely rapid changes. Borderline is fundamentally different from mood disorders. People with depression or mania have almost no "affective lability", which means their emotions aren't changed by things that happen. You can't "cheer up" a someone with major depressive disorder - their sadness comes from inside t…

I'm not convinced borderline personality disorder is actually a thing. It wouldn't surprise me if it were dropped from the DSM within the next 20 years. If it is real, it's massively over and misdiagnosed, on people who actually have CPTSD (complex ptsd), bi-polar, or an unusual combination of depression with other situation, neurological, or anxiety-driven problems.

Perhaps you can't get hard with escorts because buying sex makes you feel shame, disgust, or anxiety (about the time pressure or about law enforcement or whatever) You might actually do better if you were with someone you know and like, and if you had a whole night in which to try a few times.

If you have a history of having sex with women and enjoying it you're not gay. You can call yourself bisexual, if you want to. If you start finding yourself attracted to men born as men, then bisexual would breathe best fit. If you find that you aren't interested in "normal" men, only in female-bodied people who live as someone in between man and woman, you needn't call yourself bisexual. You could call yourself straight or straight plus or heteroflexible or something.

Also there are a lot of antidepressants. In addition to SSRI, there's SNRI, NSRI, Atypical, and some old one like MAOI. SSRI are used a lot because they help almost everyone at least a little and their side effects are basically never dangerous, but other options are often better. My general policy with LDR's is that I view travel as resignation with the option to rehire. That is, my general pitch is -- if you're gonna leave town, let's just have a clean breakup right now. Long distance is hard, talking every day would just make us lonely and distract us from our real lives, and usually somebody cheats. When you get back, if we're both single and we both want to date, we can get back together.

There's no reason to wait and no reason to rush. Do what makes you happy day to day. Maybe you'll be 30 when you start dating, maybe you won't. They have more and closer friends, closer ties to relatives, are more likely to take care of the sick, and display more teamwork and co-operative organization. This is precisely why women "hate" each other. They interact with each other more, and need each other more, than men do with other men. Familiarity breeds contempt, as they say, and you dependence breeds resentment. Women annoy the crap out of each ot…

For me, this means that to apologise to a woman, there must be a damn good reason for it- a reason you should have avoided in the first place By definition, when you apologise to anyone, there's a reason that you should have avoided. No reason to withhold a sincere apology for an actual error --just don't dwell on it or waste time justfying it. Get it done and move on.

In general, try to lose your virginity in a safe location and with someone you're pretty sure you want to fuck. If you're anxious and paranoid you may not be able to get hard or get off, or you may get off almost instantly. That shouldn't have to mean anything more than "try again next time," but when their first time doesn't go well some guys get really shaken.

It doesn't make you a bad person to have casual sex with girls with no chance of a relationship. This is generally true, but it depends on how explicitly they signal that they want a relationship and how balanced they seem. Once someone drops the L bomb, things get dicey.

My experience has been that women don't notice so much about whether a dick is below average, average, or a little above average. They think of dick as either "huge" or "normal." A small number of women are afraid of huge cocks and consider them deal-breakers. There's a small number of "size queens" who have psychological fixations on big dicks. For them 5x4 is a dealbreaker, but 6x5 is probably also a dealbreaker. There's a slightly larger group of women who love the physical sensations of bein…

A note about pills with a reputation for dick enlargement. I have a big dick. I used to have a job with an advertising company. They would mail me empty bottles of various supplements. I'd get my camera, hold the box up to the screen, and say I'd been taking the supplement for a month and my dick grew 2 inches. Then I'd whip out my huge cock for proof. Made a couple grand that way.

I tend to think in terms of how how many times to try / how many Serious Talks I'm willing to have more than how long to wait. People in general don't change much unless forced to. They coast by on their old habits until there's a shakeup. Depressed and anxious people are especially unlikely to spontaneously reform. Depression makes people lazy, pessimistic, and afraid of change. Anxiety & obsession make people inflexible and repetitive. The good news is that I have found such people often respo…

You're starting on hard mode dude. To get a shy girl out of her shell you typically need to either start as a friendly acquaintance and give her time to get used to you being around, or you need a ton of confidence and initiative to get things rolling. If you want an easy start, go for someone outgoing.

Poppycock. From an evolutionary perspective, a man stays with a woman rather than fucking and running so that he can invest resources in the well-being of his child. If he has the a no-cost opportunity to father children on someone else, it's to his benefit, because even with 0 support from him it might survive. A man who does father children with more than one woman will have to decide which children to invest in, and the optimal move is to raise the children of his most-desirable partner.

She'll blame herself and it's hard thinking I'm gonna add to that It's good to be concerned to do what you reasonably can to avoid causing needless suffering, but in the end, only she can take responsibility for her well-being. There's also a lot of fun stuff people don't do in porn because it doesn't look like anything's happening. Most, though certainly not all, women love it if you rub their clit with your hand while you're fucking them. As for how many many of today's marriages will end in divorce, we really can't know. Someone did a basic extrapolation which suggests that if trends continue, about 1/3 of 21st-century marriages will end in divorce, but these projection are incredibly unreliable. However, if you're weighing the risks of marriage for you personally, you should know that the divorce rate is massively different for different types of people. I think it goes both ways. On the one hand: prisoners, homeless dudes, and guys with drug addictions, developmental disorders, or serious mental illnesses, tend not to get married or stay married. This means that even if getting married had no effect on a man's life, married men as a group would be doing better than singles. Another factor to consider is that studies which compare all married men to all single men will not distinguish benefits of marriage from benefits of long term relationships…

Where do you live? If worst comes to worst, know that she almost certainly can't kick you ought overnight. In most on America if you've ever given her money for rent she's your landlord and has to serve you with written notice to vacate, generally with 15 or 30 days warning depending on where you are. The average married man is, statistically, happier, healthier, and wealthier than the average bachelor. This is a fact. However, correlation can go both ways. Part of the reason men who are married are more likely to be wealthy is that men who are wealthy are more likely to get married. Same probably goes for health and happiness, to be honest.

You should just ask her what she means, seriously. But I can make some suggestions. Porn is about visuals; real sex is primarily about sensations. In both cases, people tend to want some change-ups and variety in the experience. In porn, this means changing periodically to something that looks different, while in real sex you only need to change to something that feels different. The point is that it's not about what's best for them, or what they deserve, it's about what's best for the poor kids working the drivethrough.

If you want to help someone, it's best to a assume that their goal is to de-escalate. Never escalate more than they want you to unless you're certain they're in serious danger that they're not prepared for. So after you suggested calling the cops and they said no, threatening the harassers was almost guaranteed to make matters worse. People behaving badly are generally ashamed on some level of their behavior, so usually the only intervention needed is to make clear that you see what they're up t…

No. People with less power invest more energy in their appearance, and people with more power invest less. Eastern European countries are generally more patriarchal than the UK is. Women can't get jobs that would pay a living wage, so finding and keeping a man is critical. They work hard on their looks because they have to. Men in eastern Europe know women need them. They're less likely to worry about looking good because they don't have to look good, they just need to have a job. In the U.K., w…

The only thing I found that works is detaching myself from those situation/those people, but does that make sense? Yes. Even if I display amused mastery all the time, is it normal to feel down when someone tries to fuck with you? Also yes. Especially if it's more than one person. It's good to try to let one critic throwing shade roll off your back, but if you're being ganged up on and no one defends you, you're in a hostile environment and should try to go somewhere you're appreciated.

You need to remember that "beauty" is not the same thing as "attraction." Every culture has a beauty ideal. "Beauty," basically, is whatever people in general like to look at. It's what we paint, it's what we expect our actresses and dancers to look like. It's acceptable for women who roughly match the beauty ideal, or at least try to, to go out and be seen in public. Women who don't try, or fall short, are shunned or mocked. People who are beautiful are often treated as though they were talente…

A waiver wouldn't mean anything unless it comprehensively described every single activity or sensation that could theoretically happen during sex. Someone can agree to fuck you, but not in the position you want, or for as long as you want, or whatever. If you force them it's still rape, even if they agreed to have sex. Therefore, even if someone signed a consent form, they could simply accuse you of doing something not covered by the form.

its not a rational decision. Having children isn't rational or irrational, it's a matter of preference and desire. You might as well say having sex is irrational. When using condoms, I always add lube to the outside before penetration. Even if the woman lubricates naturally, condoms seem to soak it up. Not continuously, there's oral and massaging and play. Eh, for me, 90 minutes is about right for good sex but only 30-40 minutes of fucking. At some point I have to stop lest I chafe all my skin off. That's why I acknowledged that they could have 50 "orbiters." The question is, how many men do they know that they could imagine ever wanting to fuck? I maintain that for most women the answer is around 5.

Male Feminists. . . men with low self-esteem who are desperate for attention from women, and more successful men who (consciously or subconsciously) adopt feminism as a strategy to get laid. Every ideology has sincere converts, and that includes feminism. Many men become feminist for selfish reasons, but some act from altruistic conviction

My only counter argument that these are not socially acceptable whereas sex positivism is. The counter-argument is that rape and murder are clearly and unambiguously bad for human happiness and for the social order. Sex-positive culture has more ambiguous results, and I think it's arguably happiness-positive or happiness-neutral.

Totally. Today's Mel Gibson dating a woman 35 years younger than him is a perfect consequence of how the misandric Marxist-feminist zeitgeist destroyed age-similar dating and pairbonding. Wealthy old men have always fucked beautiful young women. Feminists did not invent this.

If she's had that many partners she's going to be needy because none of them seemed to stick around or things never worked out. Yep. Works in reverse too -- her neediness might be driving men away, forcing her to replace them frequently. So the question is , how do I grow a pair and get over this BS irrational fear? Should I get tested for autism? You don't sound autistic. Autism impairs the ability to pick up social cues. You know that tension you feel in the air that makes you feel "this is the moment she wants me to kiss her"? An autistic person might not even notice that tension was there. You do notice, and flip out -- that's anxiety, not autism.

Feminism has never been a unified school of thought. There are distinct subgroups and subcultures. It's not a matter of 2nd-wave good, 3rd-wave bad. There were reasonable and unreasonable feminists in the 80s; there are reasonable and unreasonable feminists now. Yeah, I dunno about the stare-down thing. The safe, general advice, when you catch a woman's eye from across the room, is to hold her gaze for 1-2 seconds and then look away. Looking away shows abundance and independence, and gives her the space to make up her mind. The 1-2 second delay it to make sure she knows you see her, and to avoid seeming like you feel guilty about looking.

At what age do most children start following the news? DOMA was 20 years ago. I was 6. Some of today's 20-year-olds hadn't been born. Matthew Shepard was killed 17 years ago. I was 9. I didn't hear the story until we read The Laramie Project in high school. The people who grew up with that are thirtysomethings, not twentysomethings.

I honestly don't understand military men who get married. Army, Navy, and Air Force leadership are social conservatives of a more genteel type. They respect married men way more than single men. If you're an officer hoping to climb the ranks, you need to get married. Also, the armed forces give tons of benefits to married couples, especially when it comes to housing. For low-level soldiers, living alone is not an option. If you're married, you can live with your wife; if you're single, you room …

If we're going to accept that any mother who murders her kids must (by definition) be out of her mind, then we've basically just legalized infanticide Se tried to kill herself along with the children. If she hadn't, I doubt she'd have gotten off with 8 years. I'm not saying the decision is correct, I'm just saying the precedent isn't "anyone who kills her kids must be crazy,"it's at most "anyone who tries to kill herself and her kids must be crazy."

Does she want to? Women almost never sleep with a couple just because they want to fuck the man. They can easily fuck single men. If a woman offers to sleep with you and your girlfriend it's usually because they want to fuck your girlfriend. If your girlfriend isn't interested in the other woman, but also doesn't want you to pay too much attention to the other woman, there's really not much in it for the other woman, is there?

Women complain about their appearance demands more, but really all they have to do is not be fat. Lot's of skinny guys are not fat and nobody notices them. I think the difference is with a work contract you sign a contract that states what you must do to get out of said contract (2 weeks notice, for example). You're also being paid by said employer for your services from signing of contract to resignation letter + 2 weeks. Also, if you break a contract your employer may be able to sue you for money, but they're not allowed to send armed men to force you to work.

When you sign contracts to work for an employer, your not allowed to back out in the middle, or else you can get sued. Why is this any different? Because "getting sued" is different from "being physically assaulted." Is there anything I can do so I'm hitting that depth from the get go? Rather than just attempting to shove my dick farther in than it already is at the time Yes. "Side to side" is a kinda odd request. I have two moves that might apply. 1: There's a technique you can use to make your dick feel thicker than it really is: turn your hips a tiny bit to the left or right before you thrust. Your dick will slide it at a slight angle, stretching her vagina sideways a little bit more than usual. Be careful! This is a subtle technique and it's easy to go too far. You don't want to be diagonal and start jabbing her in the side of the vagina. Anyway, with that girl, …

Okay, I've never actually explained any of this to someone before; I'm making this up as I go. I hope it makes sense/is useful/works for you. 1st Rule: Think with your hips, not your dick. Your dick has very little ability to move by itself; generally, you move your core, and your dick moves with it. A lot of men don't pay attention to their body when they fuck, because they're only paying attention to the sensations on their cock. They don't think about how to use their hips, they just go on in…

There's no reason to assume she has another guy lined up. She may or may not. It doesn't really matter, from this guy's perspective. I've known plenty of women who dumped a guy and stayed single for a while. Hell, I apparently "alpha widowed" my ex for at least 2 years, even though she broke up with me by announcing that I had 18 hours to get out of our shared apartment, in the middle of the night in our 8th year of dating.

"Because I don't have time to date" is never true. It's usually not a lie, either. It's just a thing you say, that doesn't really have an objective truth value. Choosing whether to date, like choosing whether to do anything else, is a cost/benefit analysis. If someone says they're dumping you because they don't have time to date, it could be a cover for something else. But usually it just means that the benefit of dating you stayed the same, but as they got busier the cost increased until it was…

Go no contact. Block all her accounts and whatever. If you both show up at the same event, acknowledge her presence with a standard smile/nod/whatever as appropriate, but don't ask her any questions, or respond to anything she says with more than 1-2 words. If other people move and you're left standing alone with her, just walk away immediately and be somewhere else.

There are a few websites that list therapists by area. Psychology today has little profiles for them with pictures and a box where they can describe their practice. Pick a male therapist, ideally one who mentions anxiety, autism, and/or sex among his specialties. Tell him that you sexual frustration and resentment is one of the topics…

You won't get great answers here as there's a confusing but strongly worded rule against making moral claims here. However, no matter how high your ethical standards are, it is possible to have multiple partners. You could read The Ethical Slut, if you like, for a pretty uncontroversial (widely accepted by feminists and by non-feminists) example of a non-monogamous philosophy.

If most or all rape survivors had a consistent set of behaviors, you would need to take that into account. For example, if all rape survivors had huge N-counts, then if your seemingly-conserv…

Giving practical advice isn't right or wrong in the abstract, it depends on the woman. If she wants advice and will follow it then providing it is good leadership. Are you hot? Again, "stay in your lane" is the fastest (though not the only) path to happiness. Either make yourself hot (TRP focuses on lifting, but style is at least as important), date someone else plain, or date someone hot-but-crazy. Hot-but-crazy is always an option.

Give him a one-sentence denial. "Not how I remember it" or something, and leave both of them the hell alone. Absolutely don't try to contact the girlfriend, it can only feed the narrative that you're the one starting shit with her.

I'm autistic and also a "natural Chad" or whatever. I honestly think autism made me more effective socially than I otherwise would have been. The downside of autism is that you need to put time and energy into consciously studying people and their reactions. The upside is that once you do, you may find that you're better at reading people than some neurotypicals.

This is good advice. I'd add that there's a difference between "inflicting punishment" and "demanding restitution." He said it would "cost her" not that he would punish her, so he can just ask her how she plans to make it up to him. Ostentatious, magnanimous forgiveness is also an option.

Yes, she was looking for commitment. Whether you handled it well or poorly depends on your goals and values. She may very well dump you, either right now or soon, but not because of a tactical misstep. If she dumps you it will be because the terms you've offered -- she must commit to you, you won't commit to her -- are not acceptable to her. If you aren't willing to commit and aren't willing to share, then you did the best you could. If continuing to see her is important to you, all you can do i…

Again, and still, you forget the crucial point: Although OKC women call most men "below average," they do not disqualify those men from consideration. The small number of men rated "average or above average" don't actually get all the women. Women send messages to "below average" men and reply to messages from "below average" men.

Because the word "attractive" can mean one of two things. You know how guys will rate some girl's instagram pics like "8/10 would bang" or "4/10 would not bang"? I call the first half of those ratings -- 8/10 or 4/10 "comparative attractiveness" and the second half -- would or would not bang -- "real attraction." Or could it be because there aren't actually that many men interested in random one night stands? My view is that TRP greatly exaggerates the number of men who spend all their free evenings hanging around in bars and clubs trying to woo stranger women into bed. Teachers get fired if they've ever done porn. You definitely don't hear about porn stars getting fired from other jobs nearly as often though. I'm not sure if it's because teacher is a common post-porn job choice, if it's because teachers are at a high risk of being recognized, or because people care less about it in other jobs. Another factor I just remember: Women choose different men for different purposes. Women seeking causal sex prefer very masculine-looking men, but women looking for husbands or LTRs prefer more feminine-looking men. When asked to choose one male body and call it the most attractive, women might choose an intermediate between the "ideal husband body" and the "ideal hookup body." In my opinion, abuse is defined by choice, not by harm. People can and do choose to accept abuse, either consciously or by denial. A consensual beating is not abuse if (a) the person beaten is not seriously injured and (b) the person beaten is happier, not less happy, as a result. There are self-destructive people who will ask people to injure them seriously or who will ask people to do things which make them unhappy. Giving those people what they ask for is abusive and wrong.

That sounds fair and she didn't want me going down on her which I found bizarre It's actually very common for women to turn down an offer of oral. There are 3 common reasons. It's not physically pleasant for her. The women who like oral the most tend to have average or less-sensitive genitals. To have an orgasm they need their a lot of stimulation right on their clit. If a woman has highly sensitive genitals she may think it's painful or uncomfortable when you touch her clit directly. She will g…

How much is it affecting your enjoyment of sex? If you can live without the blowjob and the sex is good, I recommend that allow her to build comfort before your next move. The next 1-2 times you have sex, don't even mention blowjobs. There's a good chance that she'll give you one spontaneously the second or third time, especially if you've been going down on her and she's enjoyed it. If she hasn't initiated it by the third time, that's when you want to get more assertive.

You can't know what's up with her. Is it possible that she's latching onto random guys in a misguided attempt to recreate the emotional intimacy she lost? Sure, it's possible. It's also possible that she just really likes sex. As for masturbation, in the long run (decades) ejaculating at least 3 times per week is good for you prostate health, but taking a month off won't kill him. Just know that most women you share your fetish with will not respect you. FTFY. Most women aren't into submissive men, but the ones who are are really into them. Competition for those women is fierce, so you do need to be very assertive outside the bedroom to get with them. I'm glad I'm not a submissive; being a dominant has made my life a lot easier. But if I were submissive I wouldn't run from it.

Fnord may be an endorsed contributor but in this case he doesn't know what he's talking about. I've worked in the BDSM scene, dated in the BDSM, and socialized in the BDSM scene. Most kinksters will tell you they've been kinky since childhood and often long before they started watching porn. They'll have stories about being turned on by the bondage scenes in, like, Disney movies and children's books. They'll have stories about making Ken tie up Barbie. It's not the porn.

If we're talking about a specific fetish, like gloves or boots or latex, then scientists currently think that fetishes are learned. You can acquire new ones late in life. However, you can also acquire them very young, before you're even conscious of sex, and once you have them you can't really get rid of them. If you're talking kinkyness overall -- being a submissive or a masochist or a sadist -- it does seem to be like sexual orientation; unchangeable and set very early on.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is what you want. It's one of the few talk therapies with real science behind it and it's proven to be the best there is for depression and anxiety. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is new and probably equally good, but it was very much designed by women for women. I don't see how 3 or 4 address the problem. The problem is that she wants to have sex with you more often than you do. If you have sex with other people, that won't make your girlfriend less horny.

100,000 people can be wrong. If you pick 100,000 people at random and poll them, their consensus will usually be correct. But if you poll 100,000 people who actively sought out relationship advice aimed at the unsuccessful and insecure, you're going to get an unrealistically negative answer. It's true that looks play a huge rule in casual sex. It's probably only very good looking men who can have ONS on a routine basis. You may need a genuine red-piller to explain passive dread. I'm really a purple guy, and stuff like dread is part of why. Based on what I understand it to be, I find it distasteful and unethical. If you lack abundance mentality, your partner can mistreat you because they know you don't think you can do better and are afraid to be single. So maintaining abundance mentality will inspire them to treat you well. "Dread game" takes that and turbo-charges it. Instead of merely showing your girlfriend …

"Being a bitch" to one specific man is not sexism. Also, I'm aware of the academic definition of -isms as the systematic oppression of one group by a dominant group, but I reject it as unhelpful in non-academic conversation. It doesn't reflect the dictionary definition or common usage. I'd prefer that people refer to it as systemic sexism or institutional sexism. It's undeniably true that women are capable of being prejudiced against men or hating them as a group. Women who hate men are much rar…

The thing with "passive dread," for my perspective, is not that every piece of advice within it is bad. A lot of the actual actions they recommend using to instill dread are good things to do. The trouble is that "dread" is a twisted and mean-spirited way to think about it. It's good for your partner to know that you can live without her and you're prepared to leave if the relationship goes bad. That's good for you, in that it discourages them from selfish or manipulative behavior. It almost mak…

I'll need a little time to dig up the actual studies. For now, let me quickly review some of the findings. Basically, the strongest evidence that something more than natural inclination keeps women out of science is that women get progressively rarer When surveyed, middle-school girls are more confident in their math skills than high-school girls. This suggests that they're absorbing a cultural message that math is not for girls. IIRC, women are more likely to transfer out of STEM majors than me…

I'd say that it's neither all due to cultural sexism, nor simply the result of inborn preference. It's true that the small number of women in physics is not itself proof that women in physics are discriminated against or that the culture discourages women from going into physics. However, it happens to be true that women in physics do suffer discrimination, and we have plenty of evidence for this beyond mere enrollment numbers. Abundance mentality can mean one of two things. TRP uses it this way: Belief that the world is full of opportunities, and therefore the stakes of any one scenario of low. When applied to relationships, it means that although you like having a girlfriend, you don't fear losing her, because you're confident that if you break up you will be able to meet someone else. When you have abundance mentality, you're more attractive because you don't seem dependent or clingy. Many TRP posters would disappro…

There's two routes. Talk to your GP. They may prescribe you a drug, or refer you to a psychiatrist, who will prescribe a drug. Get a therapist (social worker or psychologist; probably an LCSW). Talk to your therapist. They can diagnose, but not give out drugs, so they'll have to refer you to a psychiatrist. That's a bigger time and money investment to get your meds, but they'll be making a much more informed choice.

I always end up in the middle on this one. Sure, the feminists who said there was no inborn difference between men and women were wrong. But it seems clear to me that inborn differences between the sexes are much less powerful than common wisdom would have it, and that popular beliefs about what those differences are can be wildly off-base. In general, I think acting as if men and women were the same is the most sensible way to go.

There is an idea in mainstream society that most women do not orgasm from penetrative sex, whereas for a man it's pretty easy to blow your nuts. It's biologically necessary for men to have orgasms* if reproduction is going to happen. Female orgasms are not strictly required, and to some extent they only happen because men and women are built off the same template; female orgasms are basically the unsupported MacOS version. *okay not 100% strictly necessary if you're into milking.

Many animals only have the urge to have sex when they're actually fertile and able to reproduce. Any mammals that go into "heat" or estrus, for instance. Human-style sexual pleasure, orgasm, and constant horniness are massive overkill in terms of encouraging pregnancy.

2000 calories is indeed too much for a lot of people, especially adult women. WebMD and the USDA recommend ~1800 for sedentary women aged 26-49. Obviously your needs will vary with your height and weight, metabolism, gut flora, and precise activity level. I have no trouble believing that 1600 is your ideal intake if you're a small woman. I guess they don't explicitly blame genetics there, but the obvious implication is that people's weight is outside of their own control. Remember that not all biological factors are genetic. We've recently found evidence that the bacteria living in your intestines have a huge effect on your weight. Hormone levels also affect weight, and while your genes do affect your hormones, so do drugs and the environment. Drugs are a big one. Lots and lots of drugs cause weight gain

What's involved in "holding someone responsible?" What does that mean we should do or not do? Say or not say? Anyway, people make choices, but not free and unconstrained choices. When you get afraid or anxious, ask yourself what exactly you're afraid of. Force yourself to spell it out in words and then ask yourself how likely it is. Because of my height I can never be a "hot" guy. This is not quite right. It's true that most women prefer to date men who are taller than they are. However, only a few women think "the taller the better." Most would rather have a man with 1-5 inches on them than a man who towers over them. If you're unusually short, that will limit your options. But in my experience, it won't make you less attractive to anyone shorter than you. I've known some short men with model-good-looks, and they did great…

There will always be people smarter than you I don't think that's his problem. The classmates getting better grades than he is may not be as smart as him. The optimal IQ for academic, professional, and romantic success is 130. Above that, people actually start doing worse and not better. @OP, what you're experiencing is a very common problem for gifted children as they enter adult life. You've correctly noticed that because you're not used to challenging work, your discipline and study skills ar…

Cognitive behavioral therapy. Part of the answer to any kind of obsessive thoughts is cognitive behavioral therapy. especially if you're someone who has strong anxieties about a variety of things in your life. Read up about it before going in, if you like. A lot of the techniques can be practiced on your own as well as with a counselor. And from the intensely negative self-judgments it does sound like you may have a tendency toward anxiety or depression. The thought that you didn't "deserve" to …

The psychologist Dabrowski did long-term studies on children who survived traumatic experiences like their house burning down, a parent dying, etc. He found that stress and trauma can have positive or negative effects and that there is currently no way to predict who will do well and who will do poorly.

its way easier to smile when you have no regrets or emotional baggage Really? I think it's easier to smile if you have something to smile about. I'm not with my high school girlfriend now, nor would I want to be, but some of my happiest memories from high school are of time with her.

Start with Plato and read western classics (philosophy, literature) all the way up to the modern era. I don't think I'd recommend that an American teenager try studying the Greeks on his own. Between the cultural differences, the historical details, and the language barrier, it can be quite hard to get much value from them. Plato is especially difficult reading, and is easy to misunderstand because Socrates is such a troll. If you want to read philosophy on your own time, I'd start with the Enli…

If by "cancel. . . social media" you mean "literally take down your Facebook," that's crazy talk. Don't waste time on it for sure though.

No, it isn't not good enough . . . blah. Too many negations. Your body is good enough. No one you're going to be meet should really be "out of your league."

It's NOT though. Even if you grab someone at random from a crowded nightclub, you've already chosen to draw from a carefully stacked deck.

I'm not sure we disagree? Finding an aspiring SAHM with whom he's compatible could very well happen for him. It's not rare. But he should be prepared to face the possibility that it might NOT happen, and think about what he would have done if his ex had been excited about being a working mom instead of grudgingly willing to consider it.

People here love to talk about "agree and amplify" but I'm a big fan of plain old "agree". Seriously, "haha you're probably right." would have been a fine answer.

Are you more worried about misreading people or about being misread? Are you looking for help interpreting other people's body language or for help mimicking it? (I'm autistic. And a Chad, or a natural alpha, or a sigma, or whatever jargon)

What can I do to ensure that I dole out details when I want and how I want? Decide in advance what those details are -- what you're comfortable sharing and what you'd rather not. Then give out the info you're willing to give out cheerfully and pre-emptively. You usually won't get interrogated if you are already talking.

/u/human_enquirer Thanks for reading. There's a lot of solid observations in your post as well. I think we might be talking past each other a little bit, though. The way I see it, there are two questions to ask about welfare: "how much should we spend on welfare programs?" and "how should we organize them?" I'd like to focus on the second. Milton Friedman was an American economist and a conservative Republican. He was not a "big government" guy. He didn't want to add Universal Basic Income to th…
