Sorry if I skipped the details. My kids are adults. They live with her because it is their home town they grew up in. I left, moved 68 miles away to buy a house. My kids come out to see me sometimes, but sometimes I want to see them, so I go there, pick them up, and we do something together. It sucks that they will not get their own places to live, but housing is too expensive for young adults there. My son is going into the service soon, and my daughter just broke up with her boyfriend and move…

I am getting pulled both ways here. I have members of a divorce group from church asking me "what would Jesus do?" And a sub reddit labeling me a simp and to ignore the EX because she wanted this divorce. Fuck it, I want to see my kids.

I had your same exact marriage. Communication fails, the wives start looking for a way out to be happy. Let her go be happy. Find someone that is happy with you.

My EX's dog died. This is the puppy she got when she moved out. She had left our family dogs with me. Took the cats. Anyways, I am sad for her and the loss of the dog, I love all pets and they have no idea what is going on. She has sent me a text saying how sad she is and that she misses her dog. My replies offered condolences and a kind word. There is no reason to be rude, at least for me. You are kind to let her come over, but it isn't going to help you heal. You did good, let her see what her…

8nuears ago, $285 an hour, was warned to walk in the court room, would be $10k. Settled in the cafeteria. Over all might have been $8k or $10k in billable hours and other fees.

I didn't make a one season before I started doing all the holiday decorations myself. I did down size the Christmas tree and went with a small fake tree on the table. I like it, it breaks up the year here in Cal where the only thing I get for natural seasons are hot weather or cooler weather. I buy at least 1 pumpkin spice coffee in November.

This guy gets it. A simple 1 page cert that we can frame and hang on the wall. He'll put it in a shadow box with led lights. Show it off with pride, men!

Sir, if your girlfriend did this, would you park in front of her house and blast love songs from a radio? The fuck you would. Get your balls back, file for the divorce, and make her wish she never pulled this shit. You can always remarry...someone else.

I am joking. Imagine having a piece of paper that said "Official Certificate of Divorce" with a small paragraph of text and then signatures under that, printed in landscape and ready to be framed and hung on a wall.

You got a certificate? Like a DD-214 that people get when they leave the service? I don't have a certificate. Do I have to mail away for it? How many box tops do I need?

Weight gain from depression after having to put your family pets down, alone. They reminded me of my EX and all the good times. It was like loosing her all over again. My kids were with me. It's been almost 32 months, I gained 60 pounds. I am now working with a doctor to get healthy again. It is slow going.

Shit, I don't have this problem. I bought my home a year after the divorce thanks to covid work from home rules. I would say buy the cheapest house you can and rent that thing out. If you can buy it with land, enough for a van or RV. Park the van/rv on the property. Fence it off and wait until you can afford the mortgage and kick out the renter.

You are going through the motions of the divorce. I bet most of us have felt this way. The loss of purpose affected my big time. You will recover, and with some work, you may find someone to start a new relationship with. Hopefully, the process doesn't repeat.

I liked my MIL, she was a single mother and loved her kids. Made bad choices with her relationships but never married. Smart girl. Smarter than us men, you could say. She even told me her daughter was asking crazy during the divorce. Maybe the lack of a Male role model caused my EX to think she would be better alone or maybe I didn't listen to her and I was the cause of my divorce.

Is it possible that women over 45 with children now see that their retirement is going to suck if they don't remarry, and that is why their attitudes have changed? I am just putting this on the table to think about. In retirement, if the mortgage is paid off, theb1st SS check covers property taxes, low utility bills, and food. You need a 2nd SS check to cover clothing, auto insurance, auto maintenance, medical bills, student loans, credit card bills, divorce lawyer bills, 😀...I can go on and on.…

I don't know. I know nothing about her personal life after she moved out. I was nice and spent our 1st Christmas at her home for the kids. It was almost normal, but it also wasn't. A few years later, I had to go help my son fix the sprinkler at the house. Still no talking about our personal lives to each other. Again, it felt normal but also didn't.

You don't have to dig far. These almost all play out the same way. There could be a "How to for dummies" book that explains what women do step by step in their divorce. The main thing you need to do and you have done is realize she isn't your wife anymore. She is this new stranger you don't know living in your home with your kids. Think about this. Imagine a random woman coming into your home and starts degrading you. You wouldn't stand for it. You would do your best to get her out a d away from…

LOL...Maybe that is what she wanted, or maybe I wasn't what she wanted anymore. That doesn't matter, she is still the mother of my children, and I feel I shouldn't degrade her in front of them. I am not a very religious man. In these instances, "What would Jesus do?" always pops in my head. Sometimes I try to be good and do the right thing, and sometimes I fail and make and ass out of myself. ...ride the carousel 🎠. "Oh My God"

Therapy was my first baby step to healing. Then making my own choices for myself before the needs of my family was step two. Now I am on the mend, not healed but I am taking steps to lead to healing and not self-destruction. Time has been the biggest factor. Sometimes, I had to sleep the week away just to get out of bed.

1st - Don't act on any negative emotions. They will pass with time and you will laugh about how upset they made you. 2nd - talk to a therapist or a stranger at a bar, maybe a buddy at a bar is best. Talking brings things back into a perspective you can control. 3rd - Even if she didn't do shit, the law is the law. Get a good lawyer. You will recover, life will return to normal, woman will still want you.

No male role model when growing up. Her mother never married and her Dad only called on her birthday. She bonded with her mother, never with me. When there were issues she took them to her mother and not me. She kept me out of her loop of personal information.

My best pal has offered to get a whore because I don't fuck around. It's been 8 years, dated 4 woman from 24 to 50. 2 of them basically raped me. I said, "I love you" before her divorce was settled. Just be you, do what you want to do. If you want to be alone, do that because it is your life.

This. Because you want to be the provider and your brain chemistry is all out of whack, guys end up in these types of relationships. You get attached to the kids, take some of the burden off the Mother and she does a 180 with her free time and fucks other dudes while you are at home with the kids. RIGHT?

Well, that isn't totally true. 1st example l, my Mother in law was always at our house. She almost lived there on her time off. But this is ok because I liked her. 2nd, my son is 22 and is hanging out with my right now. It is possible to still spend time with family after they have grown up.

A red traffic light is a red traffic light. We all know this. A divorce is the end of a marriage. Plane and simple, that marriage is over. Time to move on to the chapter of your life.

My Mother in Law was extremely supportive during the divorce. She thought her daughter was having a midlife crisis. Her brother was having his own issues with his wife and asked me how to prevent himself from getting divorced. To this day, I think she just lost it and wanted to try and rewrite her story. It hurt everyone and I was helpless to stop it. I wonder if divorce wasn't an option, would she and I have been able to work it out.

I found 3 women to hook up with but my EX left me so mentally damaged that I was no good to any of them. I am 5.10 and was 235 when I dated during that time. None of those women cared about a 6 pac. But for me, I still felt like I was cheating on my EX. The women are out there. I met a woman at the dog park last week and we just talked. She made me feel like wanting to try dating again. Don't give up.

I am not sure how she is doing. I heard her say her credit score was bad. Mine is excellent now. She gained all the weight she lost before she left but so did I, just last year due to illnesses and depression eating. She lives with he Mom. On the plus side, she has a new Chevy truck. I still drive a 19 year old Ford. Neither of us are better off I would say. Had we worked it out think might be better. I just don't know. I try to not think about it.

Had to sell our home for $735,000. She wouldn't wait a month to let me buy her out. The home is now worth $1,350,000. Thanks babe, I hope you are happy now. I left town and bought a house. She stayed there and is renting. I forgot the lawyer fees and moving costs and lost 401k savings, whatever. Don't get remarried boys. Just don't do it. Girlfriends until death.

Right, and we are left with our thoughts. We don't want to break up our family, yet there she is doing it "Sort of". I was thinking about this tonight. Bad breakup are because we were not educated about how they should be done. No one wants to look that shit up. Going forward it would be a good idea for Parent to teach their kids. Going on 9 years now. I tried the online dating. Meet a few women, but I mentally wasn't ready. The last woman I saw 2 years ago was nice, but I didn't feel any connection. It was a coast to coast fling, and when she called it off, I just said "Ok". I got two labs a year ago and they file the void. I am an introvert, taking them to the dog park is the closest I get to socializing with people.

You file for the divorce before she does and move on. There are no Fairy Tail endings here. Just family court and a ton of wasted money on lawyers. If your kids ask why. Tell them that sometimes adults don't see eye to eye and it is best for everyone for them to go their separate ways. No one is at fault. It just happens.

Don't feel bad for her. She is no long your wife and no longer the person that married you. She is a completely different person now. She might feel pressure from the men she dates now to get a boob job. My EX wanted boobs too, and no matter how much I told her that she was perfect, she wouldn't drop it. Now, what she thinks about her body is not my business.

You know, we shouldn't let these women off so easy with the "I am not happy and want a divorce" excuse. When did words stop holding their meaning? She said, "Until death do us part" in front of all her family and friends at the wedding. Don't forget God if the ceremony was in a church. Now, 5 years later, it does mean shit and she gets to state free! Dude. Christians. Yup, I went to a local male support group for men at church. I would go a few times a week. I also got a therapist that helped me get through the first few weeks. Then, finally, a family group therapist. Once she left the house, I had support from friends and roommates. I managed to get my son to school and graduate. Staying active really helps. A "rut" is what I call them. I even had them in my marriage. I had to break the daily routine and do something new. New restaurant, or new type of food, walk somewhere new. You don't win when it comes to her spending. You purchased something that increased in value and is still in your gun safe. That's 50/50, it's all 50/50 at the time the papers are signed. Now you can say the bedroom set is equal to the value of the 1911 and 870 shotgun. She gets the furniture and you take the good stuff. If you can manage it, remove all emotions from the conversation. Approach this as a transaction with a bank to pay off debt. If the relationship is over, then it is over but don't get angry or sad about it. If you can talk about filling the divorce papers, 50/50 splite of the financial situation. If there are kids, it will be difficult, but try to come to an agreement. Once someone talks to a lawyer, the shit storm starts. When you get home, let it out and decompress.

It gets easier. Surround yourself with people that want to be with you and find value in who you are. Worked wonders for me. I am an introvert so it was work for me to get out there. One thing that made it simple was having a pet to take to the park.

It will be ok. I have been divorced for 8 years. My Daughter was in college and decided to live full time with her Mom. Kids don't know what parents go through in a divorce. They can shut down and ignore both parents. They are hurting too. Give her time and be there for her when she comes to you. My Daughter and I talk all the time now. Now that she moved out of my EX's house I get to go see here when I want to.

I wasn't happy with having to be angry with her. Not just upset but pissed off and she was ok and moving on. We tried the separation under the same roof for the kids but that failed. Guys if she asks for a separation just say NO and list the house for sale in the morning. Separate the bank accounts. Take the 1st offer on the house. Make her move out.

I was this behavior from my EX Wife's Father. It tore her up when he wouldn't make a simple phone call (before texting) on special days. He moved on with another woman and the kids he had with her. Finally, my EX had it one time and went off. There was nothing I could do to make it better, but hold her. Kids need parents. At your age, with a comfortable retirement pending, not divorce. Just buy a 2nd home or rent a small place and spend time there. All your time there. If she cares one bit she will try to be with you. Don't give a lifetime of labor wages to a lawyer. You can move and date someone. Heck, even take a 2nd wife. Don't, but you could mentally in your head.

Yes, I sad work at it. I am sorry but relationships take work. It sounds like both of you have a short fuse. Try to find out what and see if it can be fixed. I would take a Doctor prescribed sleeping aid to get 6 hours of sleep. I also road my dirt bike on the weekend. I still was involved with my Son and his football and wrestling. It is all a blur now. I took pictures to help me remember. Man, I hated my EX during those days. Now things are better. I have my own house, I just go…

Well, are you okay with breaking the wedding vows? If the answer is yes then go do what ever you want. Nothing any of us say should matter in your search of happiness. When you do it have everything planned out. Tell her you are leaving and hand her the divorce papers to sign with all the Financials information included on a Saturday morning. Try to do it with a city clerk to save money. Tell her there is nothing she can do to change your mind and walk out the door. Like quitting smoking cold tu…

That needs to be printed on the front page of every wedding certificate. "Are you sure you want to get married? Do you still want to get married knowing more then HALF of marriages fail? Y/N"

That is a reach. I heard that an EX can go after your Social Security payments when the EX retires. Imagine then taking part of the Social Security payment of your new wife(why anyone gets a 2nd wife is beyond me) claiming it's part of your property, thus rightly hers.

My kids are now adults. They elected to live with my EX because she didn't charge them rent. I assume my EX had help with the rental payments from a boyfriend. My kids would come see me but I wasn't going to hang out with them at my EX's house. Now one has moved out and I get to go visit her. The other is still with the EX and is milking it. Smart kid. Oh I was livid with my EX after she filed. She moved out, took the stuff she needed and left me to deal with selling the house and so on. I was that guy that would give her water in the desert. Now my kids are adults, I have had a few relationships. Done some therapy. Listen to people more experienced then myself. She texts me out of the blue with a question. I answered it and all those feelings of hatred are gone. For my kids and my grandchildren I am going to see if I can be civil towards her.

I LOVE BROWNIES! With that said during the awkward separation stage when she was acting 21 and I was trying to keep my job, she made me brownies. Cost of living for her and 50% custody. She will want to move to the East so be ready for that. You are in the military and could be deployed to Guam at any moment. You will also be forcing her to get a job. She is not going to like you for that. Equal rights and all. It is 50/50 if you fight about it. More if you get lawyers. You will be better off paying more to make her happy if you can and keep the house. If the house was yours before the marriage you should get it minus the equity she paid into it while you two were married. If you put her on the loan in the refi the I think you are splitting it is she forces it. Offer to pay her to let you keep the house. They all tried to hook me up with some other divorced chick. It was grand for a bit. Then the depression set when I was ordered to sell my home and move. Many years later I am almost ok again. 👍 Life has ups and downs. Enjoy the ups when they are here and know the downs will not last for ever.

Here is something to think about. When the paper work is over, when you are back on you own, things will get better. There will be days it doesn't seem that way. But it does happen. You will go to bed one night and the next morning feel ok. There are steps you need to follow to get to this place. There is work you need to do. You can do it and be better for it. Don't let hate, anger and fear rule you. Love yourself, love your children and forgive those that have wronged you.

You need someone else to come in and look at this from a business perspective. It sounds like you are letting feelings get in the way and are also worried a out getting screwed. Most definitely get a lawyer due to her statement about coming after your retirement. Don't give her anything and force a court to order you to pay her "pussy use" tax. Then pay what is fair for Child support. Ask for 50/50 custody because you can provide a room with your proven income.

Everything purchased prior to a court ordered child support plan will be considered a gift is my understanding. You might want to finalize the divorce and child support next. If she goes on state aid the state will come after you to pay. Fear what Family Court can do you.

The hardest part is jumping pasted all your feeling right to reality. Your current marriage is over. You two need to separate now. Take 6 months apart. Calm down. There is nothing wrong with a Girlfriend or two. The issue is once a man gets married, there is rarely a upside to him getting divorced but there is always one for the female. She gets half a man's wealth, child custody of 50% or more, and future payments of spousal support. The Male gets a studio apartment, a bad credit score to rebuild and a life long payment plan for nothing. You don't get this with a girlfriend. I got the EX to agree to not selling until our Son graduated High School. The day after it was listed for sale. So you can work together on this. My new girlfriend did a refi on the her house to pay off her EX. Now she owns the home and her daughter gets to stay in the family home.

It us always about the grass. You are not a Cow. Talk with your wife. Tell her that you want to move and are inviting her to come. If she says "No" then there is your answer. Say something stupid like "YOLO" and pack your bags. Fuck what anyone else thinks, it is your life and it is all about your happiness, right? Now grab a pair and get to moving.

It has been 8 years. I have to deal with her because my Adult kids live in her house. She wants me to feel comfortable visiting them and staying as long as I want. I think I hate this concept. Come play family at her house but leave when it is time for her to be with another guy. It doesn't sit right with me. I don't think it ever will either. It's best that I only have memories when she was with me then this new situation that she wants. And what sucks is it make me feel like the Asshole. I hav…

15 she jumped on my dick. 20 I put a ring on it 23 my daughter was born 28 my son was born 41 she want a separation after my daughter left for college 42 she moved out and just took stuff, a week later came back for more. The divorce was settled after my son finished Highschool. I have been with a young girl, a older married poly girl (it is weird, don't do it), and a divorced woman a few years younger. She is great and might be the final GF. I would say the marriage/divorce cost me a million in…

I meet the girl I am seeing over a work phone call. She is 2 years divorced, allI did was listen to her, added my 2 cents and we fuck buddies now. It might grow into something serious too. We have a blast together. And get this she likes me for who I am. Unfucking believable.

Your feeling are real. Keep talking about them to your therapist. Maybe this will help. Your time with her is over. You will find someone new and you get to start a new fantastic relationship. You might not want that but it is the reality here. Lay out the facts, black and white. No gray areas and process them. No Hollywood love story endings here. This shit happens, it is part of life just like getting the oil changed in your engine. Remember that food tastes good, sports are fun to watch and t…

Could be, we got married young. Did the stuff society told us to do. It was when I gave up trying to make it work that things changed. A married man can only be rejected in bed so many times before things change. We became more roommates with kids so she made the call. She asked for nothing and left. Down the road the lawyers divided everything up. Now life goes on. I will not remarry.

She had processed the separation and divorce as most women do. She told me that I would adapt to our new modern family. I don't see that happening but enough time has passed that I am willing to be civil. I know I will have events with the kids and I don't want to be that asshole Ex. The 1st question was about a loan. We are on question 4 now about what type of Sprinter Van she should get for her two dogs. It is strange that she would ask me for advice after taking me to court not to have to tal…

It's been 8 years from the point she wanted a separation. My kids are adults now. They still live at home so in order to see them they have to visit me 68 miles away or I go see them at her house. I swallowed the bitter pill each time I go to take them out for dinner or whatever. Then out of the blue my EX sent me a random question about something. I unblocked her a few years ago when I moved and forgot all about it. I replied with my best answer and you know what, that woman still has a place i…

No it is not worth the pains of a divorce. Just be boyfriend/girlfriend until she doesn't want you any more. Then the break up is easy. She takes what she purchased and you change the locks. The next time she enters your house give a clear warning before pulling the trigger.

Dude, I know you because I am you. PM me if you want some support from a guy that worked to the very end to save a broken marriage. Understand that she is not the same person anymore that you are still in love with. That doesn't mean she is a "Cunt" but she is not putting you or the needs of the family first. It's been divorced years, I feel like my recovery is on track.

Dude talk about winning the divorce lottery as a Man. You get Alimony, child support, the kids, 50% of the house if not the House altogether because the kids need a stable space to live and grow up. Wipe away the tears and cry later. Right now WAR has been declared. Get a lawyer and unleash that Hell hound on her. You also get half of the retirement and half here Social Security pay when retirement comes. Do not remarry. Every pay raise she gets is more money in your pocket. I know you are an em…

He is right. I was in your place. Ready to leave but I did family therapy thing. Guess what happened, she left because I didn't look at fixing myself first. I was focused on what she was or wasn't doing. It has been 8 years. I went though a cycle of emotions, got sick, lost my job, had a girlfriend, lost the girlfriend and I am still working on myself. I was forced to sell after she just left on weekend. There was not talk a out what to do with the house. I was on unemployment at the time with my old job agreeing to rehire me in a few months. Once I got my job back, I rented out the extra rooms to make ends meet. Then the divorce papers came. I think she waited for me to have a job again so she wouldn't have to pay alimony to me. I am in a better place now. Left the town and own a home with a mortgage again. Bit is miss that old house. It was …

My lawyer said you don't lose equity in the family home until there is an official separation paperwork signed. I am in California. I had to give my EX half of everything. It sounds like you two need 60 or 90ndays apart with shared custody. Once she has cooled off the talk a out the marriage. More then likely it is over. Time to move on. Join a support group. No, that Soulmate shit is romantic mumbo-jumbo. I do think you can find someone that checks most of your boxes but not all of them. Then you have to compromise a little and that is ok. As for marriage part 2, nope not going to happen. I am currently dating a girl that knows this and is ok with it.

Take a moment and step outside yourself. Remove the emotional damage you are experiencing. Try to get her to argee to a simple divorce at city hall. I doubt there is a ton of money to split up. Make a 50/50 split of you can. No lawyers if possible. Don't try to save the relationship. She has processed all of her emotions and moved on already. I am sorry this happened.

The good thing is the kids are adults. The bad thing is she let's them live with her. This has created a wall where I can't visit them. They do come see me on the special holidays and sometimes just out of the blue. My kids are good people. I moved out if town so I wouldn't run into her. I was also able to buy a house. BTW, VA loans rock. Yet I still can't get this chick to move out of my head. I have a garage project I will go work on and see where I am at in a few weeks.

Now it is time for you and I to start a new chapter of our lives. We don't have to forget but the choice has been made for us. Staying busy helps with the stress and loss. So what is the buy out? Example: mortgage balance is 500,000 and comps in the area are 750,000. She would have to refi the house on her own for 750,000 and pay me 125,000 to leave if she wants to keep the house. Am I correct?

Ninth, DO NOT DATE OTHER PEOPLE. Don't party. Don't go out. See lawyer for advice. WHY NOT? CA is a no fault state. It doesn't matter if you date in court, does it?
