Emphasizing men as solely "actors" doesn't help when the real issue is our inability to recognize men when they're abused(acted upon) by women and thus help them.

Help not just the ones who externalize the abuse they suffered but also those who internalize it.

Jackson Katz says call it "men's violence against women."

Because lesbians never commit domestic abuse.

"By focusing on men as perpetrators or potential perpetrators, most men shut you off right away," Katz said. "They say, 'I'm not the problem. I'm a good guy.' What we need is more men with the courage and the strength and the integrity to speak up."

Do you know what happens to people who stand up to psychopaths? They get their asses beat.

Once leaders, especially those in stereotypical masculine professions such as the military and sports, start taking a stand against domestic violence and sexism, it opens the door for other men to do the same, Katz said.

Because challenging a psychopath's manhood is totally going to get him to be peaceful and not provoke him to further acts of violence. How stupid can you be?

And the way Katz implicitly denies the existence of male victims of domestic violence and gender based violence is a big part of the problem.

This idea is really pernicious. I have never committed violence against women. If anything, I've been the victim of women's violence against men. I've certainly been the victim of violence against men per se. So how is it my business to stop violence against women. I can't stop these people practising violence against women. It's not my responsibility. We already have laws against it and the government is trying to stop it.

What about the violence committed in our name against the populations of states we attack and occupy: Panama, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and Pakistan to name a few. Here I have some responsibility. We can do something to stop our governments practising this violence.

But silly feminists are too busy with their own women-serving power hungry guilt-trip on men to give a fig about actual victims of violence we could and should do something to prevent. Self-preoccupied little dirt weisels. They should be ashamed. They don't care about anybody except themselves.

Besides, false allegations of rape and violence produce their own kind of violence against innocent men. Do they care about that? Do they squat?

I find the seminar an interesting idea.

However, the lack of balance in seminars makes me care less about their plight.

No one seemed to care when my male friend died from breast cancer. I don't seem to care about their plight with that disease anymore.

It is unfortunate.

Yeah. Jackson Katz...another example of why it is never good to argue with a zealot.

Guys like him, Byron Hurt, Hugo Schwyzer...oh, not Uncle Hugo...he's been excommunicated from the church of feminism. But anyway, these guys who have the hubris to take their personal experiences and claim them to be typical for all men are just broken examples of people.

And all of these misandrically perverted dialogs do the same thing; frame men as the sole perpetrators of domestic violence, rather than looking at the whole picture. And the simple truth that puts paid to this entire lie is the statistics of women on women DV in lesbian relationships as compared to male on male DV in gay ones. If their lie was truth, then lesbian relationships would be an example of paradise...but we know better don't we?
