[email protected] Abstract Four experiments confirmed that women's automatic in-group bias is remarkably stronger than men's and investigated explanations for this sex difference, derived from potential sources of implicit attitudes (L. A. Rudman, 2004). In Experiment 1, only women (not men) showed cognitive balance among in-group bias, identity, and self-esteem (A. G. Greenwald et al., 2002), revealing that men lack a mechanism that bolsters automatic own group preference. Experiments 2 and 3 found pro-female bias to the extent that participants automatically favored their mothers over their fathers or associated male gender with violence, suggesting that maternal bonding and male intimidation influence gender attitudes. Experiment 4 showed that for sexually experienced men, the more positive their attitude was toward sex, the more they implicitly favored women. The fact that men have such antipathy for each other in our society is fascinating.

Evolutionary biologists have suggested that cooperative, friendly relationships between men and involved fatherhood are two of the things that separate human beings from the primates we evolved from.

Now that we're doing away with both, I wonder what kind of mindless, vicious primate we're going to devolve into.

Ah well, consciousness, advanced technology and not getting eaten by bears were fun while they lasted!

Possibly this is rational. Consider the gender roles men and women are supposed to fulfill. The male role is pretty horrible in most ways. If a man actually lives up to it they are unlikely to be overly cool. I don't mind stereotypical men that much either. Nothing to talk about. Of course men didn't chose this role but that doesn't change the result. Luckily many men my age are pretty reasonable in regards to gender norms.

I would expect that is purely biology. If men are evolved to protect territory and donate sperm, then it would make sense for you to like the people you have to fuck and dislike the people you have to fight.

I would say this is part biological and part due to environmental influences (parents and relations in school are probably huge factors) Without going into details, I'll say that I've personally experienced some of the worst of both genders, so I really have no reason to play favorites in any way.

You might say I dislike women a bit more, but that's because of social factors regarding their behavior. Where I live, most of the women I deal with are vain, shallow, and it feels like they only give a damn about men until they have their own wants and needs secured. You're probably in the same boat except you're surrounded by crappy men?

Faced with a man I know nothing about, and a woman whom I also know nothing about, neither of them displaying any outward indication that could be associated with a certain specific personality, I can say with certainty that I would not favor either of them over the other.
