In the past month I've posted two links from this subreddit to Facebook. My trans-man friend asked me what was up with the sexist posts. He hadn't actually read them and when I explained he took back the "sexist" label.

My ex-girlfriend recently discovered feminism and she commented on the recent post about male sexual liberation. All she said was "This is why we need feminism."

I'm positive she didn't read one word of it.

To me these reactions just show how important this movement actually is. The fact that "Men's Rights" as the conotatoin of sexism is ridiculous.

Recently I read a story (from here maybe) about men getting raped by women in Zimbabwe and part of me said, "they probably thought it was hot". I know that's completely wrong but that's our culture right now.

Thanks to you guys I'm more aware of this than I was before. I am grateful.

UPDATE: I may have misunderstood her comment. She says that feminism is rights for everybody.

I've never heard these issues brought up by feminists but I haven't dug that deep into feminism.

So now it seems she supports Men's Rights but maybe just wanted to let me know that feminism is all-encompassing? Or that feminism is good enough?
