Not to defend /r/creepshots, but was Creepshots any different from ihollaback.org, a site that allows anonymous posting of men and then charges those men with crimes of harassment and assault, and permits no takedowns of their pictures? (x post with AskReddit)

I would say ihollaback is worse, since it actually defames the people it features, and often promotes violence against them.

R/creepshots was no better than www.tubecrush.net, http://bostontcrush.com , or http://subwaycrush.net, to name but a few of the female orientated sites that feature pictures of males taken in public and posted without their consent.

Feminists say nothing about these sites, or worse, defend them.

I've been saying that for months. SRS attacked the post I made that pointed this out - because it highlighted their double standards and hypocrisy.

I think /r/ladyboners would be a more appropriate example since they are both on reddit so both should follow the same rules, they regularly take innocent pictures from /r/aww etc and make similar sexual comments that were seen on /r/creepshots

The difference is false information (even if it isn't all false, there is the chance for part of it to be). As others have pointed out, there are other subreddits which share a lot in common that are a far fairer comparison.

Is anyone actually looking at this website? There aren't pictures, identifying information, names or anything like that. It's just women telling stories about how they felt creeped out by their encounters and tagging it with a location. No one is being charged with "crimes".

Are we really comparing this to a community that takes pictures of women without their knowledge or consent and puts them up on the internet, forever, for the sexual gratification of others?

I get trying to tamp down the irrational aspects of feminisim that can sometimes crop up, but this seems like a particularly poor fight to pick.

This kind of nonsense is exactly why this community has such a terrible reputation.

In public a person does not have expectation of privacy. There is nothing wrong with taking someone's picture and uploading it to /r/creepshots, neither legally nor morally.

I think it was different. Creepshots posts pictures of people who haven't done anything wrong. Hollaback posts pictures of people who are at a minimum, accused of harrassment. However, r/LadyBoners is a horrible corner of reddit where women appropriate men's pictures for their own sexual gratification without consent.
