The courts would see that as invasive. Essentially your money does not go directly to the support of your child, but maintaining the lifestyle your family would have had were you and your partner living together. Unless your ex is negligent or abusive the court wouldn't care about her Vegas trips.

I'm sorry but sometimes I find child support a joke. Child support should only be paid when a large lifestyle change will happen. When my folks got divorced it meant a large change. But as the years went by my mother was doing pretty well while my father was hurting financially. The financial support was minimal in comparison to what she made. But often tough for him to make. I love my mother but there was a point where it was like really? Just give him a break. You can go to Hawaii but he can barely buy a kit kat bar. He always said he wished he could just make a deposit into a college fund for me instead of writing a check to her. Because then he actually knew where the money was going. Which as a kid who has to pay a substantial amount to go to school would have been awesome. But now he keeps making his payments, instead to go to my schooling. He's an awesome father.

Talk to your caseworker (if you have one) and express your concerns. Make sure to phrase your concerns in such a way that you are looking out for the best interests of your child.

Are these parties occurring on your weekend or hers? Make sure you've got solid documentation about the fact that she's skipping out on being a parent to go party.

I was just talking about this with my friend. I was saying that I wish there was a way for me to give my money directly to my daughters, instead of to their mother.

But then, as long as the kids are getting what they need (food, shelter, clothing, fun, etc.) then my money is providing for them, though perhaps indirectly.

If I hear that my kids aren't getting what they need, then I will raise Hell.

I think a campaign to pass legislation which requires anyone receiving child support to have to account for the spending of that child support on the child each month should be lobbied for by the MRM. The same exact punishment for failure to supply proof of spending should be the exact same as that for a person who fails to pay child support.

The effect this would have, whether passed or not, would be to bring the discussion to the masses on the fairness/unfairness of child support. The hypocrisy and abuse of rights would be blatant.

My fiance has a wonderful 4 year old girl. I consider her my daughter she considers Me a dad but im not. Her dad lives with his mom (i think to help with bills) he leaves for weeks at a time. Went 4 months without seeing his daughter. I get sad if i don't see her for acouple days in a row. And she went to Disneyland with her grandma i was waiting at the airport to see her. He left for a week long camping trip with 2 girls. I can't say i blame him lol but. He hasn't ever really paid child support i think the state tried to make him pay 60$ a week. I made my woman contact the state and not pursue child support. Because it does him no good to pay it and be broke and it does us no good to rely on something we didn't earn. Now we are all happy. Follow my lead if your in a similar situation.

ignoring the fact that even if you had detailed reciepts of your daughter's mother using "child support" for anything but the child no court would do anything, what state are you in (i assume NV)? quite a few states allow for the person paying the "child" support to require reciepts to see where their "child" support money is going, and if it's not going to the child they can in theory have the amount reduced, even though i've never seen it happen (anecdote time! : roomate is divorced and lives in kansas, where it's required by law for the reciever of "child" support supply reciepts upon demand. roomate requested, saw that only about 1/4th of the pay he was giving the mother [he's required to give her 50% of all his wages above min. wage] was actually being spent on the child; the rest was on alcohol / dates / jewelry. he took it to the courts who basically told him to fuck off).

It's HER child support, since she's looking after the kid. Yes, you paid it. TO HER. BECAUSE IT'S HER'S.

So no, you don't get to know how HER child support is being spent.
