kind of seemed like any other sports montague to me, just had loads more women in it then usual. I'm not sure I'd have considered it sexual at all until someone said it. didn't even look sexy, I wouldn't say many of the women in that vid were attractive. they were just doing their thing which is cool. choice in music is dubious though but fuck man with male sports there's all kinds of clips like this.

Sexist hypocrites, that's all these people are. It's ok to ogle male bodies, not ok to ogle female bodies. Feminists, the sooner the world gets rid of you the better.

When the news was covering which male swimmers had the nicest packages in spandex, it wasn't objectifying, it was "admiring instruments." (Let's not think about how instruments are objects, in more ways than one.)

When NBC releases a video "sexualizing" female Olympians? "Meaningless objectification" and "creepy."

Erin Gloria Ryan of Jezebel led the charge, calling the clip "creepy":

Okay, if Jezebel is being treated as reputable and applaudable on mainstream news websites... we've got a lot of work cut out for us.

It is so amazing how feminist hypocrisy seems to have no limit. Every time I see a feminist article, I think that there's no way the level of hypocrisy can be any higher. Then another article pops up and completely shatter's the previous record. These people are so unbelievably delusional, I honestly cannot believe some of the people on this board try to tell me that feminism isn't "all that bad".

After watching the video that seemed much more like a highlight reel than a sexy olympic women reel... I don't know what other people saw, but I saw women making great plays, competing and basking in the glory of victory in their respective sports. There was less sexual objectification in that video than any swimming (male or female) match.

Porn-tastic music!? That sounds like improv jazz to me.

What was interesting was that most of the comments didn't really seem to think the video was terrible. Most just had a problem with the music. Some pointed out that Yahoo had a gratuitous amount of pictures from the "objectifying" video. The only people that had a real problem that I saw were Jezebel, some Rosenberg woman (not sure who she is) and the author of the article.

I wouldn't say it was creepy. And if there was some commentary to justify the slow motion or at least some obvious reason why there was slow motion (like a goal, or the high jump shot), then there would be no problem. I think the main issue with the video is the "porn music". That above all else is what makes this montage more of a soft porn video then of an olympic video. That said, I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to look at attractive athletes - male or female. We are hard wired for that.

While the video doesn't actually objectify women (though the music is a little pornish) and there shouldn't have been such a large backlash to it, I don't get what this has to do with men's rights. Is this a criticize feminism subreddit?
