Hi guys, I'm using a throwaway because I don't want this shit wrecking my usual account.

My issue is this: There are numerous accounts on reddit whose sole aim seems to be the misrepresentation of this movement by pretending to advocate for MR when really they are spreading false beliefs etc.

One example is http://www.reddit.com/user/viperz This individual posts in other subreddits urging them to come to MR where we support misogyny and rape. Click on their username and you'll see that all they do is falsely represent this subreddit.

Example: Gang rape video goes viral, shocking South Africa by shazbazin worldnews [–]viperz -7 points 2 days ago* "You forgot to mention that many of us MRAs want to legalize rape. We have discussed that many times and reached the consensus that it should indeed be legal. Rape is a perfectly legitimate reproductive strategy. Moral relativism tells us that if we just do it enough it will be right eventually."

I know that the general rule is "don't feed the troll" but I think that things like this have to be an exception. This individual is doing active harm by delegitimising this movement in the eyes of anyone who comes across their bile. I'm not advocating any sort of deletion or anything of that sort, but maybe a group of us could "follow" them. My general idea is that any time viperz or any other similar troll posts something that "represents" MR we could follow that up with posts pointing out that the individual is not representative of the true views of this subreddit. This wouldn't infringe on the rights of the troll, but would stop abuse and misrepresentation of this subreddit. I'd also be interested in the mods opinions or another solution.
