IMO it was posted to WTF not because the poster doesn't think that men can be victims of rape too, but that the wording implies that you're not a real man unless you get raped.

Would "Even real men get raped" or "Real men get raped too" or simply "Men get raped too" have been better? I really don't like the expression "real man/real men."

Ok, not hard, imagine a poster stating "REAL WOMEN GET RAPED" and you can see why it is in WTF. The wording is obviously the problem here.

Maybe because to most normal people the saying "real men get raped" almost makes it seem kinda like a man should proud of having been raped. Like it's nothing to be ashamed of in the same sense that wearing pink is nothing to be ashamed of. That it's not exclusively for women in that sense. You know it sounds ridiculous.

How about just "men get raped too, an erection is not consent" or something like that. I'm sure someone here can think of something much better and more fitting.

Also the survivor rhetoric is just bloody stupid. Blatant parroting of feminist bullshit. There are no such things as lethal penises or vaginae. You have to wonder if the feminists who spread that around talk to each other and say "that penis nearly got me" or something.

Seems pretty wtf to me. Like it's implying that getting raped is a requirement for being a "real man" (whatever the fuck that means).

I looked at it and thought, "Wtf? why is there a nail in a rugby ball? How does that create imagery of rape?" So it seems appropriate.
