Society seems to regard men as having a high potential to commit sexual crimes, reflected in some feminist rhetoric, a lot of discussions about rape, how people react towards male strangers alone at night or when they interact with their kids, airlines' policies about who can sit next to unaccompanied minors, etc.
I've seen feminists passionately defend this perception, insisting that, even if the fears are greatly overblown, it is the product of "rape culture" (a laughable concept -- 99+% of people view rape as heinous) and therefore understandable.
However, most of those people, being "politically correct" and progressive, are also the sort who will vehemently attack the notion of people reacting in much the same way when encountering blacks in similar situations.
It seems as if the fact that men are a "traditionally privileged demographic," somehow this -- let's be honest what it is -- sexism is somehow more acceptable and valid.
"Oh, but many of these women were raped or know someone who was raped."
The experience didn't turn me racist in the slightest, but I've been mugged and violently pistol-whipped by a young black man. I don't think that would either legitimately or in society's opinion excuse me of any anti-black racism, and I fully appreciate that it was the fact he was a criminal not that he was black.
Likewise, fearing men in a general sense is stupid and sexist. Fear sexual predators, who are quite often women as well, just as other crimes are quite commonly committed by other races than blacks.

Another thing is when you take men's rights issues and break them down into race, these same people who ridicule our issues would see them as legitimate civil rights violations. For example, MRA's will talk about how the family court system is biased against men, how child support guidelines are unjust, etc. Critics of the MRM will take those comments and use them to ridicule us, act like we're whining.
But if you break it down into a race issue, and you show how disproportionately the child support system affects BLACK MEN and other non-white men, how child support laws lead to the incarceration of black men at a rate as high or higher than the drug war, then these same people would be outraged and see it as a huge injustice.
But it's the same issue. When we talk about family court reform, that's what we're talking about. Black men's experiences are part of that. But it's like some people don't care unless it's made into an explicitly racial issue. When it's just about "men", they don't care.
In the same vein, take any joke that is typically hurled at "men" as a gender and put a racial label on it and see how it sounds. People think nothing of saying things like "men are pigs". And if you call people out on that, they act like you're making something out of nothing, like it's no big deal. But put the word BLACK on that and say "black men are pigs" and holy shit you just became Hitler.
What these people don't understand is that when you say "men are pigs", you ARE saying that black men are pigs. Because black men are men. When you say "men", you're saying all men. But they don't see it that way, because in their minds, when they say "men", they are thinking about white men and to them, it's okay to be bigoted toward white men. But they still won't say "white men are pigs", because then it would become an explicitly racial thing, and would show them as racial bigots. It's more acceptable to hate men as an entire gender than it is to hate individual races of men, even white men.
