Cancer funding is a weird one to bring up. The fact is that prostate and breast cancer combined bring in a disproportionate amount of money compared to stomach, lung, pancreatic, and colorectal. (I heard on the radio that in Canada breast/prostate bring in 300x more funding than the other 4 (most deadly) combined.

I have no problem with the concept of male privilege. Yes, males do have some privileges.

I have a very serious problem, though, with people who unequivocally state that male privilege exists without even considering that female privilege also exists.

Modern society seems to anxiously lap up any concepts that try to justify why women should be escalated at the expense of men, and embracing the concept of male privilege, alone, is one of the biggest and most popular of these concepts. It's disingenuous to the extreme and I'm sick to shit of it.

I've never in my life seen one fact and data driven argument for the existence of male privilege. Yet, as we see here, it's trivial to make a compelling facts and stats based case for the existence of female privilege.

I formally challenge anyone on SRS to make a statistics driven case for the existence of male privilege in modern American society. A challenge that I'm certain will go unanswered, as the only statistic they can throw at us is individual income.

Feminists don't argue this point.

They try to claim, before the argument even starts, that it is impossible for women to have privilege.

Then they don't need to defend any claims of privilege. They can simply say that it is impossible and write off anything so outrageously obvious that common sense says otherwise as 'benevolent sexism'

Even when they make the flawed argument that "because the top 1% is a male majority, men are privileged", it's like they are completely oblivious to the fact that those men still, first and foremost, serve a female majority(catering to just about every female whim, demands and entitlements women generally have) and generally get to where they are as a direct result of both social gender male expectations to be responsible leaders/caretakers(because, you know, when shit hits the fan it's always nice to have someone to blame or take all the burdens) and as a result of men competing, and striving, to meet women's personal and financial expectations. Funny how those statistics where men are majority in that top one percent and concepts of "male privilege" often gets so misused or misrepresented to justify or legitimize misandry; while all the statistics where men are clearly at the bottom, in considerably larger numbers and in far more ways, just get ignored.

The statistics he cites aren't usually brought up when feminists discuss privilege. Or they'll say " The Patriarchy Hurts Men Too^TM " and leave it at that. In effect this article talks past the things he even [linked](www.amptoons.com/blog/the-male-privilege-checklist) to. The disposability of men and boys is a separate (still important) issue and should be brought up independently of feminism, and not as a reaction to dismiss it.
