This actually isn't about shared custody at all. It's about incredibly inappropriate boundaries on the part dad's new partner that undermine the relationship between the child and his/her real mother. Nursing creates an intense bond between mom and baby - a bond that a baby has NO BUSINESS having with dad's new girlfriend. Custody arrangements have been changed for far, FAR less nasty shit than this. I wish this woman could affords a lawyer.

Incidentally, cross-nursing is discouraged by health professionals, because it is a known vector for infection. Mom and baby have a lot of the same resistances, and "good bugs" and "bad bugs" living in similar balance in their bodies. That kind of direct fluid transfer between an infant and another adult is physically dangerous to the infant. This is one of the reasons that milk banks pasteurized donated milk, even though all their donors are screened for disease. It decreases the nutritional value, but is still better than feeding baby "raw milk" from an unrelated stranger.

I'm glad this girlfriend is far away on the internets, and not where I can get my hands on her right this moment. Stupid, worthless, willfully ignorant, insensitive CUNT. If she had cared enough about that baby to talk to a doctor or midwife about what she intended to do, then she wouldn't be doing it, regardless of how eager her new man is to hurt his ex.

(I know that I should actually be more angry at the dad - looking out for his child's best interests is HIS job, not his girlfriend's. Maybe I'll get there upon calm reflection.)

This post gave me a idea.

Maybe we should push for a law that forbids a woman to have sex with any other man or woman other than her babies biofather , if she breastfeeds, until after the baby has been weened from the boob.

The reasoning would be the same as 2x. She could contract a disease from the pool boy or thug or whatever and then pass it onto his son through breast feeding.

It's all in the best interest of the child.
