Sometimes much, much better. Single father here, son's mother jumped state and hasn't so much as called in a year. Deadbeat moms just aren't publicized because people don't like hearing about sad or uncomfortable things.

It's ridiculous that this even needs to be studied and written about like this. It's common sense! Of course men can be great parents, haven't we all seen awesome dads in action? That people need scientists to confirm what they should be able to see with their own eyes, because TV doesn't resemble reality whatsoever, is sad.

Oh, and P.S. I rage when people say dad is "babysitting" when he's with the kids. It's called parenting, people.

Dads at home are always called layabouts, unlike mothers ( hardest job in the world) . Raising kids is tedious as he'll though.

Yeah, the secretive family courts are still biased against fathers though who are usually the main bread winner.

What a horrible title - it is using 'mothering' as synonymous with 'parenting'. This just re-enforces the prejudice that mothers are superior parents to fathers. Fathers don't mother, they father. And fathering can be as good as, or better than, mothering.

8th Continent Soymilk has this bullshit essay on the sides of their cartons that starts out with "Good job, Mom." The whole thing is addressed to mothers, and only mothers. Their customer service department responded to my complaints of how narrow-minded this wording is by saying "We just want to honor mothers for all their hard work :o)". Sometimes I feel like link-bombing them with stuff like this.
