The whole "White guys brutalized the world" idea is really starting to frustrate me. If you look throughout human history "white dominance" (England and French empire for example) are really quite recent. In fact, Mediterranean cultures thought "white guys" were inferior and barbarians, fit to be slaves or to be slaughtered.

At that is only Western history. Asians, Arabs and Greeks all had massive empires that brutalized the known world.

Even among the white empires, it was all about the ruling class, with poorer men being used as pawns for the profit of the rich.

If you live in the US you absolutely do benefit from a couple hundred years of slavery and you absolutely do enjoy "white privilege" if you're white.

Does that mean you should have to "pay" for circumstances out of your personal control (IE: the station of your birth)? No.

But lets not pretend that advantage doesn't exist. The US has anything but equality of opportunity.
