I was recently reading a post in my college forum of a girl saying that she suddenly felt repulsed and felt “icks” about her boyfriend but could not understand why. And in the reply section there were several other girls who related, even some who broke up due to feeling that unexplainable “ick”. Basically, their man was not doing anything observably “wrong”, but they still felt extremely repulsed by him, which is the second-worst thing that could happen in a relationship, just behind feeling resentment.

This once-again confirms alpha/beta dichotomy. I’ve seen countless posts on social media about “icks” and women suddenly being repulsed or even hating by their partner in relationships, typically by younger women who are clearly not ready to settle down with a beta yet in a committed relationship. They want something exciting, more “alpha” in their dating strategy. Until they reach the maturity of being ready for commitment.

I’m reminded of a post I read here a couple weeks prior that made excellent points on what alpha/beta means: neither are inherently “good” or “bad”. You NEED both. You need to hit the gym and be the right amount of cocky, but also build a good income and have actual interests and a personality. You need to know how to care for and pay attention to her, but also know how to take the lead and put your foot down when the time comes.

It’s the perfect blend of excitement and stability you need to strive for. The type that’ll make her want to fuck on the first date, but she holds it in and fucks on the third date because she also wants to keep you around. If you’re too much on one extreme of the dichotomy, then you’re only experiencing a small slice of what you could experience in the dating world. And clearly, the men whose girlfriends have repulsion and “icks” are too much on the beta extreme, too stable, too comforting, almost flatlining. Add some spice.
