Are men the heroes?

When it comes to bad things happening in the world, we all know the story and whilst the details may change, one thing stays the same – men are the villain.

But are men more often the hero too?

We like to point out that most terrorists are men, but so too are the people who run toward them.

Men commit the most crime, yes, but so too are men the people who heroically give their lives for ours.

Yet we never gender those people, the hero’s. Why not?

Holy cow, I've never thought of this.

All of those amazing and heroic men that have rescued people in need, even featured on the news! Yet sick 'feminists' still go around saying 'men are trash', 'kill all men', 'men are evil'. And the media of course has to say that the criminal was a man.

This is mind blowing. And it also shows the male disposibility in our society too.

Its like the rightoids that always cry 'muh 13/50'. Men do not commit crime because they want to, but rather, because their situation puts them in such a position. The argument 'but men commit more crime ' is a very poorly thought out argument. Men are also the ones who give their lives to save and protect others.

Men are disproportionately more likely to be firefighters. Men are more physically capable than women by default, but they don’t just ignore that or use it against others. They regularly use their strength to help others who need it.

This is really interesting and I'm glad you posted it.

I have to wonder if it isn't somewhat hardwired for us to focus more on the well being of females of childbearing age than we do men. After all, the focus on children is the same whether they are boys or girls. There may be snap judgements involved where people unconsciously do what's best for the future of their society. Which would mean saving the rarer gametes.

I also think women's value drops as they age. They are still valued more than men their age. But perhaps the regard shown to younger women shouldn't be extrapolated to all women. Notice the Karen meme where older women are treated with contempt and anger. There is a consequence to women for reaching the age of unfuckability.

I agree that male courage and sacrifice should be highlighted and celebrated. To overcome bias and because men deserve to be celebrated.

That's what men do, and they get so damn little praise for it. Most don't even want praise, but if a woman did something like that, she would be cheered as a god damned saint and a superheroine, and she'd suck it all up, too. Strangely (or not so strange), there are no stories about women heros. There must be, but damned if I could find one like the guy in the video. . I just noticed he does it all wearing flip-flops! Not exactly foot wear that gives much traction. This guy is a real fricken hero!

EDIT 1: I just rewatched the video, and amazingly, it's the woman next to the man who sees the girl first. Does she even take a single step toward the girl? No, she puts her hand on the guys back to point out the problem. It sure proves my point!
