OK, is anyone else bothered by how they are stereotyping the COVID-19 situation as "women are more effective than men"?

I prefer to have the draft abolished entirely since I consider it to be a violation of personal autonomy. Extending the draft to women would just be extending the suffering.

But if there had to be a draft, I agree that women should be eligible for it.

With all due respect, I like your opinion but that is complete lip service, as you are a random feminist on the internet. Lets look at what actual feminist organisation did when the draft and conscription (forget the draft, this is much worse) issue became real:

Look what the actually said, their acutual statements, and what they did:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Egalitarianism/comments/g5z8cc/feminisist_fiercely_oppose_gender_neutral/

Since society is gynocentric, having women conscripted in military would have huge benefits for society as we are far less likely to go to war as people couldn't tolerate women of they nation dying in mass. No one gives a shit when 1000 men are dying per week in Vietnam, turn that to 1000 women a week and fuck were stopping that way today. Just as 22 veteran suicides per day no one gives a shit

Disagree. Extending it to women is the best way to ensure it's never used and ultimately ended.

It's like if we said if there's a draft we'll draft all the sons of rich people/politicians and send them to the front first.

Suddenly we'd discover the cost of war is too high.

In some countries like South Korea or Finland the draft is necessary.

NOTE: On Twitter, the general consensus among women replying to this is "NO, WE ARE WEAKER THAN MEN!".

I mean, I thought the "equal rights" meme was just men and women messing with each other, but some of them are actually REALLY opposed to it.

LOL, forget asking feminists online and women, lets see what feminist ORGANISATIONS actually did, when the shit hit the fan e.g. Norway:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Egalitarianism/comments/g5z8cc/feminisist_fiercely_oppose_gender_neutral/

Add that to the post.

I think this is true as physically. But this argument can't be used to oppose juridical, social and class equality among men and women.

If a healthy man were to be drafted but not strong enough to carry his weight, the military would PT him until he was. No reason for women to be different. Their upper potential is lower than men's, but you don't need to be a powerlifter to carry a rifle and some gear.

No one cares, draft all women

[–]AskingToFeminists 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The draft is generally a terrible idea for our time, and will be more and more, with the needs of war going from supremacy in numbers to supremacy in technology. Should it be maintained, yes women should be included, but it would be better for everyone to just get rid of it.

With modern equipment, a trained voluntary professional is much better than a barely trained conscripts here against his will.

Studies of historical records have shown that most conscripts didn't shoot their guns, iirc, in old times.

I mean the challenge is that a multigenerational war of attrition is a major factor.

In that scenario, yeah, you want your women to hang back anx birth as many children as possible so you have soldiers again 20 years from now.

The problem is firstly, that this is a feudal mindset. Human lives belonging not to individuals but to a nation, to be spent at the whim of the elite.

That's not how our society and civilization aims to function anymore.

Secondly, multigenerational conflicts are fuckin terrible and less and less frequent.

So no, because a) no one should be and b) that's not how the world works in our era anyway

draftwomen

[–]thereslcjg2000left-wing male advocate 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t think the draft should exist at all. But if it has to exist, I do think women should be eligible. Maybe not on the front lines given that women on average are physically weaker than men, but perhaps for medical roles or similar things.

[–]rannerbeer 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I suggest we make the draft women-only.

Women, being the main beneficiaries of society need to step-up and earn their privilege.

Lmao

[–]a-man-from-earthleft-wing male advocate 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If men are, then so should women.

But better would be to not have a draft at all.

Yes
