I live in a country where people get married around my age, and many of my friends have. The sad thing is that once my friends get married, many are not around the rest of us anymore. Furthermore… Once they have kids, it's like they died inside on the rare occasion they come hang out. But that’s a different topic, (re: doing everything at home including childcare and a full time job.)

I promise myself to never sacrifice my friendships like that. It's decimated my friend group and it is so cringey to me to see these girls on social media have almost no friend time, they ONLY hang out with their husbands.

The good news is that due to this sub I do now know how to recognise a HV friend and have found some really amazing ones recently. We’ve discussed this phenomenon and have all denounced social death after marriage. We’re free women, and no one is going to take that from us!

Water your friendships! That’s one of my new favourite personal dating boundaries. I love it.
