I've remained distant from strict red pill ideologies. While I don't think I will ever adopt the lifestyle 100%, as I've grown older I have shifted towards it in some surprising ways. Some of these ways include experimenting with new/healthier foods, genuinely wanting to be around more women, and taking clothing/beauty more seriously.

Going on this topic, I want to ponder the idea of male friends a little bit more. My interests outside of my field are a bit male dominated- boating, hiking, cooking (talking more restaurant industry), politics, archery & shooting, metal music, etc. I don't think this makes me any less feminine, but I've encountered a lot of guys in my life, some truly great people, others not so much. However, one thing I have noticed is that if I spend a lot of time around them, they develop some sort of attraction and I detect it consciously/unconsciously and want to distance myself. The only times this doesn't happen is when the male friend is more of a role model (has happened in my science research or politics), he's smitten for/dating someone else, or we don't talk that much. I have had far too many male friends I thought I was super close with try and make a move on me. Perhaps I've hit a point where I'm done with going through that cycle, but I've found a lot of personal growth in surrounding myself with more women. It took me a long time to find compatible ladies to be friends with, but once I got deeper into my research and understood my passion for nature on a deeper level more compatible women started appearing.

I have other female friends I see surround themselves around guys and I used to be the "only male friends" chick as well. My questions are the following... What are some reasons a woman would do this? What are the thoughts that run through a man's head when he sees a lady surrounded by other guys?
