They do not need anything from you if your name is not on the mortgage loan or deed. She can use her tax papers for a mortgage, but you will need to sign off on a claim release or quick deed if it is bought within marriage even of your getting divorced.

Anything that is acquired while still married is community property under the laws.

Talk to your lawyer about this and do not give anything until you get info back from your attorney.

My opinion is that you should not give her the statements. I don’t see the logic of it. She can show them her statements.

If they truly do need your statements (seems odd) and it is only to prove that you are sending over the CS payments then it sounds like you and the government now share a similar tool.... BLACK SHARPIE. Redact everything that isn't exactly what they need to see. Leave enough to prove it is you, then cross out / black out every line item but what they are requesting.

Now you are playing nice in the sandbox (if you want to) without giving them all the extras they don't need. Your dates on your statements will line up with her dates on her statements and that should make everyone happy with the what is being requested.

She needs to show them her bank statements with the CS money being deposited. If you tranfering to her acvount make sure you put a 'child support' memo on the transfer.

Most of the time the mortgage provider will accept a signed and notarized Affidavit stating you are/are not paying CS

As an underwriter, I've come across many loans for divorced individuals. Different lenders have different guidelines so I'll only speak on the ones I follow:

the only time we require a spouse's bank statement is to see if the mortgage is current and the spouse was the only one on the mortgage (we can't use credit reports as documentation and the obligor has to make the payments)
child support and alimony are documented through court orders; we NEVER ask for bank statements for these. And yes, I have seen women qualify for mortgages purely from alimony.

One story I'll tell you though: wife was awarded house in divorce but husband was only one on mortgage. We found out the property was in forbearance and wife didn't know (we can't close on houses in forbearance). Since the time passed and the wife was obligated, the husband said screw her when it had to be brought current
