I think Moses is the problem, here.

[–]YelterSkelter 44 points45 points46 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What is even worse about this than the law that allows this to happen is the women who do this to these Dad’s

8000 years? What is he a vampire?

[–]Xx_undersc0relife_xX 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is a joke right? You'd get the exact same effect by giving him a 100 year sentence, why the hell 8000 years?

[–]Im-A-Scared-Child 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They usually give out sentences like that do if you win an appeal and get one of your charges thrown out you still won't ever get out of prison. The same reason why men can get multiple life sentences without parole

[–]TheSnowglobeFromHell 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think that it is set in proportion to the sum of money that he owes in child support.

What are you talking about? Aussies can't read let alone deal in money

[–]Im-A-Scared-Child 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because it's happening to men. Men aren't allowed to be victims of anything in our society. If it was happening to women there would be a massive human rights investigation

[–]TheSnowglobeFromHell 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They never even uttered a word about Assange, they aren't going to do shit about a case like this.

[–]MrDirk420 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Here is a thought. When a woman takes a man to court for child payments the man in turn should give the woman a bill twice what she wants for “stud fee”. That’s right guys. We need to start being financially compensated for our sperm!

[–]ShiZniT3 43 points44 points45 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

wtf... this is an abortion of justice. how is that allowed at all?

[–]kevintheredneck 32 points33 points34 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Some of the other laws in Israel are very discriminatory to men. If a woman cries rape, there is no stopping at go, it’s straight to jail. And they are held until trial.

[–]BigUnderstanding258 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As an Israeli i can agree with that statement

[–]goinsouth85 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Honest question - his child support obligation is 5000 shekels/month which comes ~US$1500 or AUS$2200 per month. Times 12 months and 18 years it would come to US$350,000 or ÀUS$500,000, not even counting present discounted value. Where do they get the sum of $3.5M?

[–]RonanFalk -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

They made it up or can’t do the simple math you did. Also, it’s unlikely there are hundreds of Australians of all things, who had children with Israeli women and are barred from leaving. Israel isn’t such a big place. I’m an Israeli and the figure of about half a mil shekels childcare is what I know. Also, there’s the question of how he could work and earn the money in a country where he has no work visa. There are enough bad things in the world without sensationalist journalism.

Edit: also, I suspect he didn’t pay child support before. Arbitrary limitations on freedom of movement are against constitutional law here. You’d need a valid reason to limit his movements.

It's nature. The new life has to take precedent ... by sacrificing the old.

[–]YelterSkelter 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then why doesn’t the mum also get this punishment?

[–]Linkinator7510 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The entire point of civilization was so that we could avoid nature's most cruel (in our eyes) laws!

[–]High-Fruit-Trinity 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh I agree. In fact, I was recently telling some conservative that same thing.

But Mother nature often prevails. Humans are wired to care more or less, depending on who's more important to the survival of the species.

[–]Linkinator7510 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's true.

[–]ShiZniT3 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

what the passive eugenics are you talking about...

[–]High-Fruit-Trinity 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Natural eugenics. That's why humans have less caring for men.

This is just SAD Man, he is a chemist unlike some illerate who is uneducated and doesn't contribute to society, it's not like he has murder somebody or something, why so much punishment?

Atleast he should be given a chance to earn money so he can pay the $3 mil Ranson.

Israel is not worthless now stop putting your stupid ideas here. This sub isnt about israel and Palestine.

[–]splashyDIAMOND 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

stop putting your stupid ideas here

Kindly apply this to yourself while talking about that hell on Earth of an occupied area. You're right, it's not worthless, it's worth a lot which it gets from dead Palestinian families and American taxpayers.

No one is saying this sub is about Israel commiting genocide on Palestinians. But the topic is. An Aussie is trapped due to inhumane Israeli laws which support it's own citizens over human decency.

[–]grimreefer213 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t want to hear shit about equality as long as men are having to do this shit. You can’t hold men to this unattainable old order responsibility and then turn around and be “equals”. I don’t see a single damn woman on Earth being asked to pay over $3m in child support, and she’s barred from exiting the country until it’s paid. If you want to be equals then do it on your own, with minimal support, you’re strong and independent don’t you remember? 100% responsibility with 0% authority is the definition of slavery, if you want to be “equal” to men then no more free dates, no more gifts, no free engagement ring, no expensive wedding, no spousal support, optional parental investment etc. If not then it isn’t about “equality”, it’s female supremacism.

[–]CaptBerlin 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Damm what a cis white man patriarchy right there.

[–]frustr8tion 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Well duh, of course you don't see it here. It's in all the Middle-Eastern countries where men rule everything."

[–]Inevitable_Brain9852 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The worse part is if you read it, the only way this could happen is if the woman takes him to court. Even if he is actively there taking care of the child she can sue for child support.

And what I find most concerning is what happens if a woman accuses a random man. They said they do not check a man’s financial situation before forcing payment which is 100% or more than what he makes. So who knows if they would even bother to check for paternity. Meaning this is potentially a risk to every single man who visits the country.

[–]420Riffs 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So how come he's the only one who has to pay $3 mil? Shouldn't the female other parent also pay $3 mil? They are both the parents? Dumbass sexist society. Unacceptable. I hate that our community won't riot together for innocent guys like this who only tried doing a good thing.

Feminist communities would have had their counterparts freed the next day.

[–]WolfeBane84 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Kinexity 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It never was. It's only good for orthodox Jews. If you're not one of them it's going to bite you in the ass sooner or later.

[+]BigUnderstanding258 -10 points-9 points-8 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Dude i eat bacon and im pretty damn fine in israel

[–]Kinexity 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Your day has yet to come.

[–]BigUnderstanding258 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why am i getting downvoted? Btw most orthodox jews i know are fine and dont care if i am not doing what they do. The guys you should watch out for are the ultra orthodox my friend! Those... Are just somthin else

[–]Kinexity 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Because I wasn't talking about bacon. It's not about doing things that orthodox Jews don't - it's about not being an orthodox Jew. The point was that in Israel if you're not an orthodox Jew there will be SOMETHING that will sooner or later bite you in the ass. The whole point is that they are happy with the laws there and others not necessarily.

[–]BigUnderstanding258 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And what about the druse ppl? They are living good life here

[–]EcocentristicEchoist 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

It's really not.

Don't get me wrong, there are tons of perfectly decent and good individual people there, there is some very beautiful architecture and culture, iirc there are places that are beautiful (I'm not much of a fan of desert landscape personally, but they've got a few beautiful places even imho), etc... but their government/how it's run/who influences it... Different story.

It's very similar to the USA in those ways, tbh.

[–]goodmod[M] 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Actually quite a few women opposed their right to vote, on the grounds that it could lead to female conscription.

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 87%. (I'm a bot)

In a section titled "Court jurisdiction", it warns that civil and religious courts in Israel "Actively exercise their authority to bar certain individuals, including nonresidents, from leaving the country until debts or other legal claims against them are resolved".

"Israel's religious courts exercise jurisdiction over all citizens and residents of Israel in cases of marriage, divorce, child custody, and child support," it says.

The State Department warns the US Embassy "Is unable to cancel the debt of a US citizen or guarantee their departure from Israel when they face a bar from leaving the country until debts are resolved".

Sounds like he wants to leave and skimp child support, fair enough law?

[–]YelterSkelter 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

No, it sounds like he doesn’t want to be stuck living in a small country spending piles and piles of money in his kids he probably won’t even be able to see and also will maybe even lose his job over, its ridiculous that you think this is fair

[+]Beltox2pointO -25 points-24 points-23 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Like wise it's ridiculous you'd be fine with someone leaving a country to avoid paying child support....

[–]YelterSkelter 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

But the funny thing is he would’ve been paying child support in Australia so if he didn’t want to pay it why didn’t he leave Australia instead?

[+]Beltox2pointO -19 points-18 points-17 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

What?

[–]YelterSkelter 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Him and his ex lived in Australia but she moved back to her home country and he moved back with her to still be able to visit his kids, that makes it fair to assume he was paying child support in Australia and that means if he actually did want to skip on paying child support like you claim without any evidence he could’ve skipped out from Australia

[–]Beltox2pointO 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

You mean... before they broke up? lmao.

Lmao so mad.

[–]Werwet10 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

Apart from this case...generally speaking...why should fathers alone pay child support? If you need child support from your former partner...then you shouldn't be keeping the child. The one expected to pay for the child should get to keep the child and the other parent can have visitation. There are many instances where the custody is given to women and the husband is not paid maintenance even though the law says he needs to be paid maintenance because the wife earns more with a statement-"Maintenance to an able bodied man will promote idleness."

[–]Beltox2pointO -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

Wow that's a bad take.

[–]Werwet10 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

Oh yeah? So much better than the dirt shit opinions that you have that even you can't word it out.

[–]Beltox2pointO -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Pretty sure the dog shit you step in each day can form a better opinion than "why should fathers alone pay child support"

As if they and they alone do, as if there shouldn't be a responsibility to parents, both men and women, as if men don't roll over and don't take a parental role after divorce.

You're actually brain dead if you question why child support exists.

[–]Werwet10 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

First of all...many countries have fathers alone paying child support as a norm even if the woman earns more. Just cus there are many cases where women give child support doesn't take away from the stereotype that men are the ones generally asked to give child support. Unemployed men are even asked to beg, borrow or steal to pay child support to an able bodied and earning woman and in the same country...men are not given maintenance because it would promote idleness(literally overriding the law) So...you're wrong there...fathers often lose custody and often pay child support by default.

And...child support as you know it...needn't exist. The one who is ready to pay for the child..gets to keep the child..as simple as that. There is no unnecessary time wasted in courts to determine the child support and for cases to be filed. If at all any case should be filed...it should be about who gets custody. I can see you didn't really understand the main point I had made and no use talking to you...

[–]Beltox2pointO -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Holy shit this is a terrible take again.

No, dude. That's not how it works.

Child support is there, for the child. It's irrelevant how much the mother earns.

The father pays it, because the mother is generally the one that cares for the children more often and custody courts take that into heavy consideration when giving custody.

Both parents wanted the children, otherwise they should have avoided having them, there are plenty of choices there. Being trapped is shitty, of course, bit it's not an excuse for children to go without.

[–]Werwet10 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Ooh Sexism alert there. If women are regarded as primary caregivers...they shouldn't be out there shouting feminism. Do you also believe women should have shorter or no sentences cus they are primary caregivers? Men are more than capable and infact do a much better job of taking care of their children and the statistics show that.

That's right...both parents wanted children...so you can't automatically give the mother custody just like that. The father has the right to bring up his child. You sound so absurd...i don't know how that supports your opinion.

Maybe you also belong to the group of people who believe.."The man has a job and the woman doesn't...so she should be given custody cus she will bring up the child. The man doesn't even have a job and the woman does. He is not even capable of getting a job and taking care of himself, how can he take care of the child?"

Ooh Sexism alert there. If women are regarded as primary caregivers...they shouldn't be out there shouting feminism.

They're not regarded as primary care givers, they literally are, in the majority of cases...

Do you also believe women should have shorter or no sentences cus they are primary caregivers?

Irrelevant?

Men are more than capable and infact do a much better job of taking care of their children and the statistics show that.

Much better job is a bit rich, pat yourself on the back much...

This isn't a big deal if you actually were intellectually honest about it.

That's right...both parents wanted children...so you can't automatically give the mother custody just like that.

Custody is, in-part decided with the childs well being in consideration. A large part of that is consistency from before the divorce. Another thing you might to look into.

The father has the right to bring up his child.

Irrelevant.

You sound so absurd...i don't know how that supports your opinion.

Projection.

Maybe you also belong to the group of people who believe.."The man has a job and the woman doesn't...so she should be given custody cus she will bring up the child. The man doesn't even have a job and the woman does. He is not even capable of getting a job and taking care of himself, how can he take care of the child?"

Irrelevant.

Maybe you need to update yourself to the modern world and statistics. And..the things you called irrelevant...are my inferences based on the opinions you put out and you even agreed to one of those inferences which is the most sexist one even in the MRA and feminist circles. Go on with your sexist mindset.

I know the stats about your claims. They're weak at best, and things are irrelevant because they're not related to the discussion, you're just filling the void with useless information.

If women can abort the baby, men can leave. Get your misandry out of here piggy.

[–]Beltox2pointO 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

This is after the baby is born, not before. Try and keep up.

[–]Starmind0 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Sweetie, I don't care. You're still limiting men's options and justifying the disgusting misandry by the law. Sit where you belong.

[–]Beltox2pointO1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Nope. Not a single time did I do that.

[–]Starmind01 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You just said abortion is ok but a father leaving isn't.

[–]Beltox2pointO1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

After its born leaving is bad, yes.

Male "abortion" rights are different to leaving a child.

[–]Starmind01 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

But do I care? No. Men should have the right to leave the child if they want, just like how women can freely do.

[–]Beltox2pointO1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yea, actually you should. Abandonment without fathers consent is a pretty big issue for menrights.

In reality though, a woman abandoning a child is actually both parents giving up rights to the child and handing it to the state. Neither parent can just do that and expect not to pay child support to the other.

[–]Starmind02 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

A woman abandoning the child is both parents giving up the child's rights? Explain yourself.

[–]Beltox2pointO1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

As in "in the view of the state", which is why fathers losing their rights in that regard is an issue.

Shit like this makes it even easier to support Palestine than it already is.
