There is, but the biggest problem is the antagonism towards it. Case in point, major organizations like the UN decided to make "World Toilet Day" the same day and promote that over IMD on Nov.19th.

Our accomplishments as men in terms of contribution to civilizations across the world (history, commerce, medicine, religion, etc.) are ubiquitous.

A downside to that, however, is that history written by men and society predominantly ruled my men can downplay or ignore the contributions of women and the problems they face today.

Women's Day is just a day to say "hey, check this shit out", that's all. Nothing to get worked up about.

This morning in class my teacher asked us “do you think that it is fair that there is no mens day? Because we celebrate women’s day for the brave women of our world but what about all the men who have died in wars protecting their countries and in factories making goods for people” and a couple of girls from the back went “well yeah” and when questioned as to why they could not come up with an answer. Society has made it seem like men do not deserve respect and recognition for all they have done for us to the point that children thing, like, actually believe it. Anymore, “gender equality” just means more power/fame/respect to women (in most cases anyways) instead of actual equality.

Ik that there is a mens day but I’m pretty sure my teacher didn’t know abt it

Look at the news today.

First lady of Ukraine states that "the war is deviating to the Ukrainians, especially the women and children". This may not be word for word accurate but words to this effect.

Even in a comment that we all understand and take innocently, you can still see the disposability of men. Our thoughts and feeling don't matter and out lives are counted on spreadsheets. This won't ever change.

I guess from a males perspective it would be shocking. But do consider that women had to fight for their freedom pretty much while men were just given it for being men. According to what I'm seeing, there is a mens day, which I do believe is well deserved. Both men and women deseve a day to be appreciated because it's not easy being either gender.

Honest and practical answer that's sure to piss many of you off: because you don't make it matter.

As your previous answers have already stated and there is an International man's day. There is also an International man's month... Movember anyone?

But now my question to you is: How will you celebrate this day made just for you? Will you sign up to the Movember campaign? Will you donate? Volunteer in some way to help the cause?

If I seem cynical it's because the only time I ever hear men mention International Men's Day is when International women's day rolls around and many men become upset and feel left out until they are reminded that they already have a day, they just don't celebrate it. And you don't need a major campaign to celebrate, something as simple as a "Happy International Men's Day" text or DM from you to all your buddies and vice versa is enough to suffice to make a holiday a national big deal. But men just don't and so the day gets buried until the next women's day rolls around.

The thing with celebrating women's day is to remember the inequal world we live in. Women are often the most vulnerable in most societies. This doesn't mean men don't have their own problems, but at this moment it's women that suffer with gender based violence, lower pay, pushed to be at home, being fired for being pregnant and even being killed in the name of honor. Very rarely these things happen to men. This is why there's is Women's Day.

I think it's to do with how mothers day becane a celebrated day before fathers day and with that ordering people don't celebrate fathers day, and then they put that same logic to men's day.
