I don't believe that Feminism is a hate group. However, I do think that they can be flawed much like we can be.

If you could strip feminism to its core ideology, it has some legitimate value. However, in practice, a movement becomes indistinguishable from the people that you attract to it.

I, for one, have not come across any feminist space where there aren't pervasive undertones of misandry, if not outright explicit misandry. At best, feminist spaces are a safe space for hateful conduct, but most of them seem to surreptitiously revel in it.

LWMA often express hatred toward feminism. Feminist groups often express hatred toward men. I see a pretty major distinction there.

What parallels do you see between the actions of feminism and the actions of LMWA that make it hypocritical to call feminism a hate group? What do we do that they also do? I'm not contesting whether or not feminism is a hate group, I'm asking why it would be hypocrisy.

At one point, I agreed with you. Now, not so much. There are only two reasons I don't call feminism a hate group.

1: Some of its members are genuinely responsible for positive progress. It's worth noting that a shockingly large portion of feminists who were responsible for that change throughout the 20th century have since dropped that label since they no longer agree with the movement's goals and motives. Some great egalitarian feminists still exist even to this day, but they're heavily marginalized by the extremists and thier supporters.

2: I want to make sure I have absolutely ALL of the information I need to confidantly take such a strong and unpopular stance.

The more I learn about feminism, the more I see resemblances to right wing hate groups, as well as shit takes that would immediately be called sexist if the genders were reversed, but it's hard to call out a movement which is still viewed overwhelmingly positively, let alone label it a hate group. I do really appreciate the people brave enough to be honest about it though.

By the way, I have to ask: What flaws to we have in common with feminism?

If a hate group is a group that advocates for denying equal rights to certain people, then feminism is a hate group.

Just like a group that opposes gay marriage is a hate group.

Well, sorry to say, but you're wrong. Feminism has always had a strong streak of misandry. The 1848 Declaration of Sentiments from the Seneca Falls Convention already blamed men as a class for oppression of women as a class, which is a clear falsehood and historical revisionism, and in doing so laid the groundwork for the patriarchy myth.

Feminists activists, academics, and policy makers have overwhelmingly expressed misandrist ideas.

Sure there are many regular people who just identify as feminist because they believe the propaganda that it is a movement for equality. But they don't have even close the amount of influence that the misandrist feminists have.

So yeah, I think it is fair to say that the feminist ideology is hateful.

There are exceptions, such as Christina Hoff Sommers, Camille Paglia, Cathy Young, and Steven Pinker, but they are marginalized. So we won't equate all feminists with misandrists, but as a movement it overwhelmingly is.

I don't buy this simply because it portrays feminism the same way they portrays us.

Most individuals have views on a spectrum that don't perfectly align of left or right and they all highly depend on economic,social&cultural variables, rather than an ideological affinity to Left or Right.

You can't dismantle something that doesn't exist. The way Feminists define a "Patriarchy" is absurd. Yes, majority of politicians are male and they do what the FEMALE VOTERS WANT THEM TO DO. Where's patriarchy? How are Women being excluded from the Power Structure?

If there are people in that group that hate men and AREN'T excised, what am i supposed take from this?? Their silence&passive acceptance of man hating in their own spaces is proof of their guilt. Feminists have no rights to complain about misogyny when they provide shelter to misandrists.

No, an actual hate group does not get to be elevated to the same shelf as those they hate just because both sides are pointing fingers.

You stumble across a farm. On one side of the fence you see a man writing in pain, clutching his guts as they slowly spill to the ground around him. On the other you see a man holding a bloodied axe. Both men are screaming at the other and calling each other murderers.

Are you seriously telling me you'd take in that scene and say "Well, I guess we just don't really really know what happened here since both sides are telling the same story"?

The main reason I’m hesitant to openly call feminism a hate group is opportunistic. In most discussions it’s hard enough to make clear it is a flawed ideology, so then I prefer to leave it at that. But I don’t think feminism is better than other groups called hate groups either. There’s people who don’t hate all Muslims but clearly have stricter standards for Islam than for Christianity. There’s people who don’t hate all gays but do think they’re abnormal and sex-crazed. The attitude of feminism towards men is comparable, so whether you call them a hate group or not, there’s nothing hypocritical about doing so.

This is a problem that affects all groups and categories, not just feminism and MRA. Feminism is a "set of movements and ideologies" with no exact agenda or definition. Same as MRA. On one hand, you can fall for the Hasty Generalisation fallacy - all feminists hate men. On the other hand, you risk the No True Scotsman - no true feminist uses #KillAllMen. Or you could try the Cherry Picking fallacy - did you know nazis build great autobahns and hitler was a vegetarian?

My answer is that you have to look at the core values of the group. Feminism, contrary to what they tout, is an anti-equality movement. The patriarchy theory at its core is a hateful and sexist theory. Of course there are feminists who are for real equality and disregard the patriarchy theory, but they are a minority.

The ideals of feminism are wonderful, but for every 1 feminist that believe the ideals, I've encountered 19 that just wanna get back at men, attack me for mundane shit like saying policeman instead police officer, or not stand up for the men's rights they claim they do.

Another problem is that the men's rights they do champion, categorically benefits women in some way. But if you mention things like abolishing the draft and paper abortion, you get attacked, told to shut up and just let feminist fix everything the way they see fit.

Also it's wrong to say most leftist don't support mens rights. If someone doesn't support mens right, they are by definition conservative. It's a paradox to call yourself leftwing oriented and not believe in more rights for men (but not just the few that are greenlit by feminists).
