I think this article shows, that out of the gender specific/exclusive scholarships, 10 out of 11 are exclusively for women. Which is a different statement than the title suggests.

I knew this was a thing but I had no idea how blatantly biased these scholarships are and how egregious the gap in the numbers is. Combine this with the studies that show how men are graded much lower for the same quality of work in elementary and high school... society is really doing everything they can to keep men from succeeding and push women into avenues for success... completely undeservedly. This makes me fucking sick.

I posted a list of all scholarships on I forget what sub, clearly showed women had about 10x the cash and triple the number of scholarships available. In fact, I even took the extra step to add up the single mother ones alone... a woman can MAKE about 100K in cash after paying for school from just scholarships (there are none for single fathers).

I was downvoted to hell and got about 20 messages saying I was sexist and hate women. All I did was provide a source and did math...... :/

Title is misleading. The majority of scholarships are open to everyone. Of the few that are restricted by gender, 10 out of 11 are exclusively for women.

while this is a serious issue, i think articles written this way only hurt the cause.

There are typos, references aren't really provided and misinterpreted, the link to save services doesn't discuss much about the study/methodology, and only includes the worst ~30% of schools.

I believe work like this hurts in the long run, as it doesn't lend itself to being taken seriously

My friend’s dad’s friend is head of a research team for a local university. This was in like 2018 or so, but due to a diversity program got assigned 2 women (unqualified, but diversity). He said they didn’t just not do their job right but actively inhibited their research. He complained about it all the time. That’s that I guess…

They lead in pretty much every measure. Higher high school and college graduation turnout, more scholarships 10x over, and the big one they’ve been harping on for years: pay. If they’re under 35 they actually earn about 8% more on average than their male peers.

They have nothing left to attack us over (at least not legitimately). They’ve gained absurd advantages in every possible regard. They get more financial benefits; they get better education; they get catered to by teachers; they get high paying, non-labor jobs at much higher rates; they get more time off; they get more options for federal and state aide; they win 90% of custody cases and 5 out of 6 alimony cases; they get lighter sentences for the same crimes; they make up 25% of homeless people and a mere 7% of workplace fatalities; they literally live longer than us on average, by about 5 years.

And despite all of that, they are less happy overall than they’ve been in 50 years, and somehow we are still marked as the Great Oppressor.

An August study from 2019 of 215 universities found that female applicants literally had an 11 to 1 ratio of scholarships.

The headline of the article isn't even backed up in the article itself, let alone being true. The article references gender-exclusive scholarships, not all scholarships. ~~You dumb fucks.~~
Men's rights are a serious issue; things like being socialized to emotionally self-destruct, unrealistic body and social standards, issues of divorce/childrearing, men getting sexually/physically assaulted, mental health, etc. It's deceitfully spiteful drivel like this that makes men's rights look like a sham movement.

Incorrect conclusion. A better description would be "10 out of 11 sex-specific scholarships are for women", as the study only compared female-specific vs. male-specific scholarships. It completely ignores non-sex-specific scholarships, which dwarf single-sex scholarships entirely.

(also, while I saw no mention of it, I suspect they're intentionally excluding sports-based scholarships, else the male-only numbers would be significantly higher due to the higher participation and popularity of male university sports (read: football and basketball))
