Because they're projecting. As feminists they intimately understand that as women they have no idea what it is to be a man. To live as a man. To be seen as a man. But this doesn't prevent them from being self-professed experts on maleness and masculinity. A few years ago, a Southern white woman tried to explain slavery to me, a Black man who majored in History in college. She became very upset when I accused her of “whitewomansplaining”. She started yelling that there was no such thing and I replied that there was no such thing as “mansplaining”, either until someone made it up. So, I was doing the same thing to define what she was doing. She ended the conversation and we haven’t spoken in years.

White feminists do the exact same things they accuse white men of doing but they expect to get a pass and don’t want to be held accountable. I enjoy calling them out on their bullshit.

There is actual toxic feminism out there in the world, yet people are here trying to redefine the word "mansplaining" to fit whatever narrative casts them in the role of victim? Christ, help us. The only other explanation is that you got accused of mansplaining by someone who ALSO didn't understand the definition. So, for clarification:

If someone accused you for mansplaining after they sought your advice then you're not mansplaining. If you forced your opinions or advice on others (men or women) without being asked, or without finding out how much the other person knows on the subject prior to discussion, then it's mansplaining. Easy, peasy.

But, honestly, can we not just rename this world so it isn't itself so condescending AND because enough women partake in this behavior that it warrants a proper name?

I order to explain this you have to understand the mentality of the people you're talking about.

These are the kind of people who cry about being treated equally as all others and then cry sexism when their choices go wrong, cry discrimination when they fail at something that a man finds easy.

These people whine about equality but don't actually mean equality they mean equity but not actually mean equity they mean equity for themselves.

Here's an example, they want to live in a world without men but want men around when they decide they want a man to serve them. Notice the cognitive dissonance there. They hate men with a burning passion but similarly want and admire the very thing they hate.

These people want a traditional man, chivalry, ambitious, caring etc but cannot grasp that traditional men want traditional women with traditional values.

Of course this is a little more depth but it helps to understand the mindset of these people.

So then they'll use mansplaining as an argument similar to somebody saying a fact about a race issue, when shouting you're a racist.

They use mansplaining in exactly the same way, which is to attempt to shut down an opponent, don't make the mistake you are not an opponent to them because you very much are, the word is used like any adhomenim attack, the idea being that you will try to defend yourself against a charge that is indefensible.

Like saying to an opponent, when did you stop hitting your wife. The only answer is to say I've never done that but people get caught out by it and begin to try to defend themselves against it.

This is the same with mansplaining.

This is done usually because facts are given which reject or refuse to accept the narrative, the person making the claims has an over inflated ego and sever lack of maturity. They see critique of something as criticism of them. Instead of using logical reasoning they'll rely on emotions and emotional outbursts to shut down any discussion and opposing viewpoints even ignoring experience in the face of reality in order to protect a fragile ego that relies on beating people because they lack the ability to work constructively with people.

In my experience it's when I'm genuinely watching them clearly struggle at something that I know how to do correctly. For example I once mansplained how to cut food with a large kitchen knife by holding the blade for more stability. She completely ignored it and continued to flop the knife around holding only the handle like a sword. When you run into people like this just let them fail. I know it's hard but they deserve it.

You need to understand that a lot of people, predominantly women, don't see the world in terms of facts and logic, but in terms of emotions and social relationships. So if you explain something to an inteligent rational person, they will be happy to learn and improve themselves. But some people see the notion of "truth" merely as a nuisence on the way of them performing their delusional narratives. Depending on the time of their mentrual cicle they might wanna feel superior to others while in next week they might wanna feel like victims. So misandry offers stupid people a narrative that encompasses all of that.

It's just a stupid insulting slur they've made up, like manspreading. Apparently, those two words have been officially added to a dictionary, I've been told. Then again, I can believe that as I lost an argument with a fat woman and I thought "fatphobia" and "fatphobic" isn't officially words and it's just made up words to insult normal size people. Well, still technically they are made up and are meant to insult people, but those two words have been added to the dictionary. Like "twerking" is now an official word.

I could argue all day why these words shouldn't exist and shouldn't be made official. But I can't be fucked with it anymore and I know the true meaning of words, of language is becoming lost. I get told I'm a racist because I don't believe in other religions, as I come from a catholic religious background, but I still have respect for other religions and understand that their beliefs are different to mine. Plus, how is it racist of me? I know white people and black people can join Islam or Buddhism. It's diverse.

God, I just want to throw old dictionaries at people when they say stupid shit...

I also have seen where they ask a question, how to do something, which is the best way, etc. all they want is a simple answer and if you explain why then you've wandered into mainsplaining territory. Unlike men, women typically don't care about the underlying reasons for why, especially when those reasons are technical and require analysis to understand. You can mansplain to a man and he'll appreciate the explanation.

My boyfriend explains things to me all the time. I don't say anything even if I know it already because I appreciate that he takes the time to explain something to me. He wants to make sure that I'm not confused, and I'm very happy about it.

These women think that men are always being patronizing by explaining something because they think that they’re being made to look dumb or ignorant when it most likely isn't the case.

Just yesterday, I had a conversation with my 13 y/o son that a man simply explaining something is not “mansplaining” and to never let someone accuse him of doing such. “Mansplaining” is fake and is really anyone describing a concept in an arrogant way. In a way that implies the other person is stupid. Women do it quite frequently.

This reminds me of a section in the book You Just Don't Understand by Deborah Tannen. She tells how a county school system did some looking at the kids grades and ages and did some graphing and saw that around a particular age the girls scores in math and science went down while the boys stayed level or went up. They couldn't see a reason why and called in a sociologist and she explained that the girls grades were going down right around puberty, and the reason she gave was that was when they were becoming interested in boys, and boys don't like brainy girls so the girls were dumbing themselves down to make themselves attractive to the boys.

My guess would be that the development of girls brains was slowing down in the areas of analysis while the boys brains were still growing in their development of analysis.

But the thing that's interesting is to note how she makes it the fault of the boys.

My understanding of mansplaining is men explaining to women about women's issues, not anything else. Women would be womansplaining if the women told us what it's like to be a man. That's it, nothing more. If a woman can't bear to be told something like instructions at work, or whatever, too bad. That's not mansplaining.
