Women can still legally surrender their babies to the nearest church, fire department, police station, hospital, or similar, even anonymously, so women still have the unalienable right to opt out of motherhood if they so choose to. The Jane Roe case has absolutely no effect on that idea.

It definitely pisses me off that a sperm donor is frequently lied to, manipulated, and trapped into the situation for life based on casual sexual encounters. I fully agree with that. I'd go so far as to call it a form of rape, in some cases.

Yet I do think it's not quite an equal comparison in that a body is not the same as a wallet though.

Sure parental rights is a discussion that needs to be had, but please do not use it as a counterargument against abortion, it does not work. Protest for men having more control over parental rights and just generally talk about it instead.

Although I strongly support legal abortions, and I think this is a step back. I do find the obvious hypocrisy interesting - how negatively people who claim to care about equality are responding to equality of reproductive rights.

My hope is that this leads to water cooler discussions and people engaging with these topics from an angle they haven't before and leads to an outcome where abortions become legal, but also that the legal framework takes into consideration some of the concerns that men legitimately have around this. Having children are some of the most significant financial decisions a person make in their lifetimes, and men disproportionally sacrifice their health to meet financial obligations (my body my choice).

First and foremost their are alot of married women that get abortions too , and it's because the couple don't want kids . Men are just as vocal about not wanting the burden of childern too. It's not a cookie cutter situation for all individuals or couples. Think it's very personable decision. At least people have blue states that they can go to ,getting the procedure done

The body is not the same as the finances. Women still carry more problems from pregnancy than men. It is detrimental to physical health and the body, you carry a fetus for 9 months while a man does not. Considering that many doctors can refuse to do an abortion, and all the psychological attacks will also be borne by the woman, not the man.
