I get great satisfaction from her reaching out to me for resource type stuff and making overly stupid or petty excuses on why I can't help.

Like, "my car is making a noise can you look at it?". I'll reply with "Sorry, I'm busy taking a nap". Or, "Hey I'm helping a friend move can we use your trailer?". I'll reply with, "Sorry, my buddy's great grandma is using the trailer to haul her zero turn mower right now".

Yes! She cheated in horrific fashion, flying cross country to meet a HS classmate while I stayed home with our kid. Filed for divorce sometime after returning, but wouldn't move out and went out most weekends. Watched her phone blow up with new numbers, tracked the phone bill to see THOUSANDS of text messages each month. Seemed to land with one guy before finally agreeing to separate (I tried making it work for months of this before finally hitting rock bottom and couldn't witness anymore.)

Once separated, I start working out, seeing a therapist and kind of started enjoying my new free time. I started attending some "meet ups" based on my interests, not dating focused. Ultimately, I did start dating and spending time with one person in particular. By this time I'm in our house full time as chose to leave "to escape all the bad memories." She ramped up friendships with my neighbors, and sends me a picture of my lady friends car in my driveway from said neighbor's doorbell cam. I don't respond and she keeps pressing the matter, but I don't bite.

I could cite another dozen psycho instances from this period, but ultimately I get the "I messed up, I still love you" text. And the best part "I'll stop seeing my boyfriend if you'll stop dating and work on us." What a great offer! She hesitates to finalize her portion of the divorce and finally asks "Is there any hope for us?" I simply reply "No."

I think my ex has too much pride to ever admit she was wrong (she's never apologized in 30 years).

Maybe I'm just lucky, and I wish her all the best, but in every area of life, things seem to have gotten significantly better for me while they've only gotten worse for her.

I'm in relatively good health, she says it's hard to get out of bed and claims to have "severe depression and fibromyalgia."

I continue to work at a good job, she was denied disability and now drives for Uber.

I got the house, she rents a room.

I've literally been having the time of my life with someone more positive, more attractive, and better educated. Meanwhile, the ex has been on multiple dating apps for 6 months and hasn't had a single date. (Of the two guys who showed some interest, one was a scammer and the other was an unemployed ex-con.)

I think many women get a hard dose of reality post-divorce.

No, but she got what she asked for.

We lived in Mexico, so its life on hard mode.

We had a pretty nice life, two cars, 2 business, beachfront house (rented), a very high end gov job, about to finally save enough for a down payment on a house, iphone, ipad, ugg boots, expensive sunglasses, english bulldog, you name it.

This is a very very difficult life to get in Mx.

My job required me to travel a lot, she used that time to sleep around, fuck my employees, take my kid to dates with her BFs (plural), guys stayed at my house when i was traveling, she stayed for days on their houses.

When i found out due to my Mexican social conditioning left with nothing but my car, my clothes and my laptop.

She lost everything in less than 2 years, ended up living in a slum, with one of the guys that washed cars on one of the business.

But she fucked me up pretty good, i been clawing my way back to a good financial position ever since, but for the life of me i cant get myself to work like i did, i coast by with some sprints from time to time , but haven't been able to be the bad ass i was at that time.
