Why does she have exclusive access to decide what is and isn't morally wrong or sexist? Trying to justify it by saying you have a valid cause doesn't excuse it, I mean how many people completely sidestep Johnny Depp to say that while they think Amber might have been wrong, there's still a lot of misogyny towards her. I mean there isn't but their own logic still works here.

The Gilette ad is sexist and ads on full display in train stations pathologizing men as a problem is sexist, I don't care that they are trying to validate it by pretending it's to protect women. We don't have ads labelling women as a general problem with killing and abusing their kids.

The other aspect is also that they are just wrong as others have pointed out.

Well for one thing, the song is based on the incorrect premise that “boys will be boys” is used to dismiss street harassment and sexual assault, when in reality “boys will be boys” is pretty much just used to explain things like why that group of boys just dug a really big hole for seemingly no reason.

Nobody looks at sexual assault, shrugs, and says “boys will be boys.” It’s simply not a thing. “Boys will be boys” means let the boys enjoy what they naturally enjoy, but nobody would ever use that phrase in the context of a boy harming other people.

Secondly boy’s will be boys and girls will be women is saying boys stay immature forever, but girl have to grow up fast because the threat of sexual assault matures them faster. This principle presupposes a boy’s life is just a walk in the park, he couldn’t possibly be exposed to any violence or abuse by grown ups and other kids, the only thing that could possibly cause a boy the kind of innocence killing trauma that ages you faster is sexual assault which boys don’t experience because they are boys.

Obviously this is horse shit. So to summarize: it twists the meaning of “boy’s will be boys” to be about justifying sexual assault, which it obviously never was. And it attempts to erase or minimize the suffering and abuse of boys by pretending it can only happen to girls.

I thought feminism hated the "boys will be boys" phrase for how it seemingly justifies boys doing inappropriate behavior (understandably). They are actually defending that statement now?

Contrary to some of the comments here, I know a woman who, as a child, was repeatedly raped by her sadistic brothers. This was in the 1970s/1980s. In response to her complaints, her mother would shrug and say “Boys will be boys, get used to it.”

Ava Max’s Queens & Kings reminds me of this. The lyrics of that song are supposed to be women empowering but they make no sense.
