I’m not, but I’ve had success with speed dating. Not to much the organised 3 minute then switch events - more of the single events where you go and mingle. Feels more organic, and with your previous knowledge you have an advantage if you’re purple.

When I found myself single for the first time since 2006, I decided to check out OkCupid because I remembered it from when it was a website with mostly personality quizzes.

It is now a full-fledged dating app but what I really like is the number of questions designed to get at your interests, your lifestyle, and what you're hoping your relationship will look like. Not only are you answering the questions for yourself, but you can also indicate how your potential partner would ideally respond to the same question and how important a potential match's answer is. I'm a nonsmoking vegetarian, and while it's important to me that a partner does not smoke cigarettes (so gross), I don't really care whether they're a vegan/vegetarian/omnivore -- and I was able to indicate that through my responses.

The more questions you answer, the better an idea you can get of whether someone might be a good match for you. There's also some great search features (as someone who is childfree by choice, I was able to eliminate not only people who have children, but also people who think they want them someday) and you can limit your visibility to specific audiences as well.

Anyway, I'd intended to use the site to find some casual connections more than anything, but I met someone pretty great and we've now been dating for about two years.

I've just stop trying to meet women for dating in general. Tired of being so disposable and replaceable, like trash going in the garbage. I would have one date with them, then I would say one thing they don't like or agree with, and they don't want to follow up with another date to try to find out more about each other. That's what I mean about feeling like trash thrown in the garbage. Try to be my friend at least, goodness.

It's not about that. I don't want anyone else to have a say so about the women that I meet except myself. I don't want my friends to "hook me up" with someone that they know. I like being spontaneous because of natural attraction between me and the woman alone, not because of a third party.
