I guess it depends on where you live, but when I was in college I was in a sorority that regularly partied with some of the fraternities and some of the guys would joke about and brag about doing that exact thing, so I don’t see the issue with wanting to be sure that doesn’t happen. Best and most likely case scenario is that he didn’t, but the worst case is that he did and she’s now incapacitated and can’t leave. This could all easily be solved by just waiting until your date gets there to order their drink.

Why would I order something for someone I don't know before the person arrives and agree with it, and can actually see the drink being delivered?

I've had dates that had sex with me at home that didn't drink anything from open bottles for safety, they asked for beers instead. I didn't find it offensive and they still gladly had sex with me.
