"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

And as much as men love male company we’re rubbish without women. Our lives rapidly descend into chaos without them. Men need women. They make us better people. They help point our moral compass and they smell nice.

What a load of shit. More tradcon bollocks.

[–]ABeeBox 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm in a relationship and feel shit, I can't break up either, and if I don't find a way to escape, when it comes to divorce I'll lose half and more of what I'll ever own.

[–]Sihu94 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah man thats the hardest. I cant imagine on the level of marriage but recently broke up with my ex because she was not contributing to the relationship and wanted to be independent. Sometimes the hard decision is the right one.

It's probably because your wife sees your post history.

[–]ABeeBox 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because ofcourse that's the most reasonable conclusion you can come to.

[–]vwatchrepair 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow. That line is hilarious. Pretty sure I've seen the stories of women drowning their kids and other atrocities. And they smell nice? That's second in line to morals? Wut?

[–]Huffers1010 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When my partner of a more than a decade takes an eleven-hour flight home that she's had to run to make after a long day at a moderately physical job in a very hot country, she doesn't always smell nice.

[–]Scandi_Navy 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well the spirit of the article seems to have focus on stopping a war. So its not that I don't get the sentiment. But men are only slowly starting to wake up, it hasn't even started yet.

His final statement though is something I've been saying for a while. There are roughly equal men and women. There is no lowering or raising standards. You can not beat this math problem and also want a family. Only by walking away.

That automatically also means someone from the other sex is alone. They can try to chair dance all they want but the music stops for everyone. If your goal was sitting down, then you lose if you are still standing.

Men need women.

Tradquq bullsht 101 there !

[–]Sr_Nunes 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Nah.. I'm really well as a single.

[–]MuchAndMore 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Lol same. I'm actually working out of town right now and am still on Facebook dating atm. (I know) and I get like 7 matches a week. But I don't find the time to talk to any because I'm so busy. So it ends up driving them nuts.

It's helped get in the door and as much as I WANT to be the empathetic caring dude I am the unintentionally ignoring them has hilariously made me more desirable. It's literally insane.

I got asked out to watch some Netflix on the couch yesterday for today and had to turn it down as I am 4 hours away right now. Chick has been messaging me like crazy since.

I'm so happy single I don't really want to put in effort anymore. I might when I get back but I'm kind of done. I should really take my profile off dating.

[–]delocalelectron 35 points36 points37 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well, that's going to make us rush back to the killing fields of matrimony, shame-faced.

[–]Shuddemell666 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What tradcon nonsense:

And as much as men love male company we’re rubbish without women. Our lives rapidly descend into chaos without them. Men need women. They make us better people. They help point our moral compass and they smell nice.

We are lost without women./s

[–]OnThatSigmaGrindset 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yeah, the author of this article emitted absolute failed male energy with that paragraph.

[–]vwatchrepair 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Imagine swapping male/men for female/women in a statement like this? On second thought, why imagine. Let's do it.

"And as much as women love female company we’re rubbish without men. Our lives rapidly descend into chaos without them. Women need men. They make us better people. They help point our moral compass and they smell nice."

[–]bottleblank 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

...they smell nice?

Could you imagine the creep factor if a shy, anxious, nerdy guy said that?

He'd have a reputation for being a rapist before you could even say the word "autistic".

[–]almostadaddy 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Be Handsome.

Be attractive.

Don't be unattractive.

[–]Big_Chocolate_420 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

this part was especially cringe

women can give a purpose (many can't find one on their own) in life. generally women generate more chaos then reduce it

[–]RatDontPanic 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Men and women generate chaos equally. The more arrogant gender tends to create more. In the past that was us, now it's women, and if we don't watch out it'll be us again. Chaos is a human thing not a gender thing.

[–]pappo4ever -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Date a shemale and you will realize than chaos is a biologically female thing.

[–]pappo4ever 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men need women. They make us better people.

It's true women make for a more balanced life but, 'need' is a little too much. Women on the other side...

[–]spelczech 18 points19 points20 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Women want men to be:

-Emotionally available

To what end? So you can throw it back in our faces in the next argument? For you to share it with your friends? For you to lose attraction for us, as we are now not the strong, stoic man you fell in love with? Or do you mean just listen to you and your problems without judgement or comment?

-A good communicator

Right back at you, ladies. How many men here have tried to get a partner to tell you what's bugging them only to get: "nothing", or you will find out from your friends something is up with your SO rather than from your SO directly.

-Share similar values

The only item on the list that is undeniably true. Couples with similar values have better, longer relationships.

[–]manicmonkeys 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The emotionally available point is especially spot-on with my ex wife. It's such a trope, because it's so often true. I'm in a long-term relationship with an amazing, self-aware woman now, and the difference is night and day.

In the end, it comes down to the adage to the effect of "Don't pay attention to what women say they want, pay attention to what they do"

Im single now and since i dont have to waste money on nonsense bullshit anymore, my bank account is quite swelled now from all the money usually spent on bullshits i dont need. If thats useless, then yes, i am useless.

[–]dshakes6628 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Crap like this is why the only women I’ll hold doors for anymore are older ones. These new young psychopaths can do so much without men let them handle it all. Not my problem what they’re mad about.

[–]DecimatingDarkDeceit 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

  • Shaming / Chastising men back into the plantation / serfdom huh ? tradcons tried it, never worked

[–]DavidByron2 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men are responsible for everything bad, obviously. Standard feminist dogma that has nothing to do with the topic of relationships.

[–]pappo4ever 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Absolutely no remorse nor pity for lonely women. They consider us trash, they deserve what is coming to them.

Evolution will take care of them, they will die-off massively, and only good women will reproduce.

[–]bbog_37 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

When society collapses and it will collapse, the expectation will be that men rebuild it. Then maybe women start having an appreciation for men again but I won't be surprised if nothing changes.

[–]RatDontPanic 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

, the expectation will be that men rebuild it.

LOL fuck that, let the women build their perfect paradise. Then when they fail we men and sensible non-misandrist women will rebuild.

[–]Poet_2413 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The original article only refers to men who are unhappy with being single and feel lonely which appears to be a growing group of people. On the other side there is also a growing group of single women who are very happy about that, in fact they are the happiest subgroup. So it’s neither about men who chose to be single nor about unhappy women who desperately want to be in a relationship but about analysing why one specific group can’t seem to find a partner and feels bad an the other one don’t want one and feel good.

[–]alclarkey 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

It's really not that complex. As men we are constantly judged for being single. It's used in slurs against our character and credibility. Single women on the other hand are encouraged, "You go girl", "I need a man like a fish needs a bicycle", etc.

For men being single is a scarlet letter, for women a badge of honor. It's no wonder men hate it and women enjoy it.

[+]Poet_2413 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s a good point. Men might be considered as not having a good character if they aren’t in a long-term relationship. However, women also hear things like „when will you get married? When will you have a baby?“. I also think it’s fascinating that there’s research showing women benefit less from relationships and marriage then men do. I guess there are different sides to it like always.

[–]shit-zen-giggles 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

For the most part the author reproduces the situation correctly. His critiques of the primary reference are on point.

I find it somewhat disappointing that everyone here just jumps at that one paragraph that fell short.

[–]el_jefe1978 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you. I mean, I get why the guys hopped onto that paragraph (it's bs) but we've gotta look at the picture on the whole. Ultimately us men and those women need to do better. I see this everyday due to my job. I see too many feminized men and way to many masculine women. I still have faith in both, although it's dwindling tbh.

[–]Billy-Batdorf 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

why would you post something so gay in defense of heterosexuality.

[–]Anih1list 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The original article actually claims the OPPOSITE of what the linked response thinks it does. The original blames male loneliness on rising standards due to dating apps, and says NOTHING about toxicity. It proposes improving emotional communication and job skills, which is just a good idea in any situation. I actually have a problem with the idea individual action by men can counteract a systemic trend, but I can make that criticism because I ACTUALLY READ THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE

[–]almostadaddy 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Broken people come in both sexes, and many of these broken people like to blame the other sex for their own dysfunction.

I think that about sums it up.
