I think there are some men who in reaction to discrimination against men blame all women, but I think they are a minority and I think overall users here note that feminism and women are not one and the same and that all women shouldn’t be blamed for the anti-male actions of feminism.

Also important to note is that the men who do form an anti-woman attitude are for the most part doing so in reaction to discrimination against men, not because of some kkk like organization telling them to hate women.

Lastly, context matters. There are many Reddit subs that blatantly promote misandry. That’s by far the bigger problem related to sexism or gender hatred.

Here's the thing about opinions. Every single one of us thinks we're normal and our opinion is dead-center. This is because we only have one frame of reference, and that's us.

My family think I'm a far-right-wing misogynist (as do almost all women, most of my university friends and most redditors). I did a political compass test and it came out 1 point right of dead-center (10 points being the max). So I know I'm not.

I did the test again, putting in the answers that my family would have done, and they came out 9 points to the left. They are literally about to fall off the political compass, they are so far left. But they think they are normal, and dead-center.

No wonder they think I'm far-right, I'm a full 10 points to the right of them!

Switching to men's rights, we have a similar situation: most people think that they are dead-center when it comes to equal rights. Unfortunately I haven't come across a similar gender-rights-compass test, but it would be fun if someone found one. I reckon that almost all women and the majority of men believe that they are dead-center on equal rights, when in fact they are far far to the left. Men that post in this Men's Rights reddit are closer to center, but will look like they are far right to anyone else.

Yes, men who advocate for more rights for women may get scared that by supporting or even reading men's rights forums they will become far right bigots, but that is largely due to their own frame of reference being SO far to the left.

From what I’ve seen, there isn’t any real anti woman men in here. Plenty of anti bullsht men though, it just so happens that there are a lot of women who also carry a lot of bullsht.

I've seen a few posts that say that they feel like they are starting to feel unsettled towards women.

This is not to say that they are pin point exact misogynists, just that I feel lingering too long here will depress you, even more so if they have also experienced alot of what this sub talks about.

We definitely need more awareness and discussions around this, because these aren't bad people saying this, they just feel trapped in. I feel for them, since when you get stuck in a cycle of such bad experiences from men, you can start to feel like everyone is like this after a time.

Perhaps the sub could do with more uplifting pointers and discussions, as well as teachings unto a more positive mindset, for proof that the whole world isn't what you see in social media.

No. I think that this maybe a safe haven for Men specifically on Reddit. Lord knows how many subreddits their are of women bashing men. However, when all you see in the internet is misandry than it’s only a natural human reaction to start to despise the people that basically criminalize you for being a man.

Yeah I’m gonna be honest and say it happened to me. Of course I still hang around women and treat them as I always have, but the hate is still there. My hate is really only for feminists though so it might make sense why.

There's plenty of people here calling out anti-women nonsense. There's also plenty of support women who are MRAs. One of the first top recommendations for people who want to learn more about men's issues is to watch Cassie Jaye's documentary.

Women like Karen Straughn, Erin Pizzey, Janice Fiamengo, Alison Tiemen, etc are regularly recommended as sources for good information.

I would say that good engagement with this sub is not going to cause anyone to become a misogynist. Superficial engagement might reinforce people's preconceived ideas, especially if they are only looking for things they agree with.

It’s pretty much guaranteed to happen. People with Trauma (like those who were raped by woman who never saw justice) generally hold resentment towards their trauma perpetrator. It’a how a lot of racists and homophobes gain their extremist beliefs
