Corporations do what will make them the most money. Almost like that's the entire reason they exist. I am sure they spent quite a bit of time and money researching which voice people, men and women, liked the best. That the winner was a feminine voice is irrelevant. If a masculine voice had won out, they would say it's the PaTrIaRcHy or something. The corporation didn't care about the gender issues, they only cared about engagement and popularity....y'know...the things that would make them money. To put more on it than that is just projecting.

I don't completely disagree. It could definitely be postulated that women's suffrage, Feminism, or whatever you want to call it, was a ploy by corporate and governmental powers to get the other half of humanity working for them and paying taxes.

The old methodology was that family is the core unit of society and family, and women's roles in it should be protected.

By dividing the family (they are coming after the kids now) and deconstructing traditional worldviews and priorities, you end up with an atomized society of depressed and resentful worker/consumers who look to consumerism, career, and government for fulfillment. It's literally the perfect plan.

EDIT: I will also add that it is well known among those in the elite realm that, if you want to subvert a society, you do so by first manipulating women. This is because women are generally more suggestible than men, and tend to want to follow the "cultural tide", therefore they are easy targets. They also control reproduction, which is the most valuable commodity of any civilization.

EDIT 2: This (women's suggestible nature) is also why women, traditionally, relied on a male familial figure (usually father or husband) to defend them and keep them from being taken advantage of. What has potentially happened is that those who wish to subvert society in a certain way (for their own power grab), told women, "hey, these guys are holding you back, they're oppressing you, you should be free from them". So that led to "women's liberation", and here we are in the world we're in today where everyone is alienated from each other and they are looking to corporate and governmental power structures for meaning and salvation.

Women are seen as passive and non-threatening, so I can't say it's surprising that they're using female voices for these. Fictional AI assistants almost always use female voices as well, now that I think about it.
