Equality doesn't exist on a social level, and never has. This is of lesser importance than securing equality before the law where we don't yet have it, gaining equality of opportunity, and then safeguarding those things. There's likely never going to be a day where the courts don't sometimes give breaks to attractive female defendants, or that fathers don't have to work a little bit harder to demonstrate that they're fit to be in the lives of their children than mothers do

One of the most upsetting things is the recognition in rape cases that people freeze when forced to have sex and don't always fight back even if they could. Your mind and body don't know what to do as you are shock. This is a commonly used defense in rape and sexual assault cases against the argument "why didn't you fight back?".

And yet when it happens to a man it couldn't have been rape or sexual assault because he was a man and could have fought back... Even in a situation where the woman his much bigger than him.

Also, it's almost as if people don't recognise physical stimulation. A penis can become erect without mental arousal or stimulation. Just like an arm can produce goosebumps from running your fingers along it. There doesn't need to be mental acceptance or arousal, just physical nerve stimulation.

It's basic science that everyone knows but chooses to ignore.

The complainant did describe her being on top and too heavy (150kg) for him to push off. One thing is for sure, she would have gotten a community order if she were found guilty.

The article doesn't really say anything that to me would indicate misandry being a factor in the court decision. Sounds like the classic lack of evidence which is a well known cause of low conviction rates for alleged rapists. That being said I have no doubt that a lot of people saying this was the correct decision would be saying the decision clearly indicates misogyny if the genders were reversed.

The thing is, this kind of trial always ends with not guilty, no matter what sex it is. This is a “he said - she said” case that was used by a bunch of tabloid magazines to get clicks, that’s it. He says she raped him, she says she didn’t. There is no evidence of rape, or at least none was submitted to the court, so obviously no one would be charged.
