Somehow, a subsection of the internet, primarily The Red Pill, took that study, ignored all of its reasons for the small gap in young male and young female sex rates, and then decided to use a study showing 72% of young men are having sex to claim 80% of young men AREN'T having sex because all the women are riding "Chad"'s dick.

Firstly, the infamous "80/20 rule" has been around well before that male sexlessness study emerged. And it refers to 80% of women going for the top 20% of men. Not sex. Who's claiming 80% of men aren't having sex?

Secondly, notice in that study that the parameters are simply men who had sex once in the past year. Not men who had sex with any sort of consistently. If you get lucky and get laid once or twice in the span of 12 months, you really have no sex life to speak of. And you are certainly not experiencing any sort of romantic connection with a girl, which also contributes to male loneliness. That's the nuance that people miss in the study: the sexlessness by extension, illustrates a lack of companionship too.

Having sex once is one thing. Having sex consistently, say once a month, is a lot more difficult. If the study adjusted the parameters to that, what percentage of men qualify for having sex regularly? Certainly far less than 72%.

Let's name the real issue. The real issue is that sexually unsuccessful men don't want to be on the hook for their lack of success. As long as they blame society, women, Chad, their lack of a squared jaw, being short, bald, etc., they can let themselves off the hook and not have to do anything about it.

It is a decent proposition. You remain sexless but at least you are absolved of blame and responsibility. You get to go back to the safety of your video games, porn and angry rants on Reddit subs and therefore you never have to risk rejection or take any meaningful action to defeat your fears.

I havent yet heard the argument that only 20% of men are crushing poon. Ive heard that women consider 80% of men below average looking but ive looked into it a little and they only use dating app swipes as arguments. Considering that most of the dating app users are men, its not surprising.

Ive only ever heard the fact that 28% of young men struggle with getting sex. Not sure where you get that men claim that 80% of young dudes arent getting laid. Honestly ive seen that shit on r/4chan but lets not go there lmao

The 20/80 thing is a description of AF/BB.

In general, around 20% of men can be AF. That's all, the rest get BB action at best. The marriage statistic you quoted only supports this view.

Why has there been no study quantifying what % of young men engage in regular casual sex in college? Probably because it would get no funding. This is not a narrative universities want to validate.

Probably in 20 years a university will come along with these findings and everyone will collectively downplay it. "Well duh, we've already known this and here's why that's ok ... "

20% of women have sex with like 20% of men but they're still statistically having like 50% of the sex total. It doesn't matter what the fine details say but the actual problem is a large portion of people are unsatisfied.

I can buy that most women aren't fucking a new rando every weekend. But I also buy most men in this situation aren't going to solve it by taking a yoga class and doing a bunch of choreplay.

Which is to me the much bigger issue. Its not just that men have a warped perspective but that women who comment generally use it as a way to bitch about what the dudes they're already involved with aren't doing, even if a cursory glance would prove that them not doing that shit isn't the issue because they already crossed the most common hurdles.

Is the whole idea kinda fucky? Yeah. But most ideas posted here about the issue have the exact same lack of perspective so no shit all that ever happens on this clown college of a subreddit is people talking in circles to infinity.
