The movie itself I mean I don’t really have a problem personally, but the way it is celebrated by feminist is super weird, because MRA would not do the same movie with roles reversed for sure…I’m a big believer in do whatever ya want with art, everyone’s free to express whatever crazy shit they want too lol even if it’s totally against the truth or what I believe 😂, but leave the weird cult mob mentality out of it. Sorry for my text block lol

I pretty much gave up on megan fox after she fought with michael bay over the appearance of her thumbs (or something like that) and got herself kicked off the transformers series. What im trying to say is: i didnt watch it. Figured it wasnt worth the time/money.

I dont think the movie is inherently bad since there are tons of horror and action movies have both men and women being killed. The fact that its considered a feminist movie due to the fact that Foxs character kills men should tell you what you need to know about modern feminists.

I liked the film but to give you an answer on why they don't see an issue with those type of movies, it's because they are ''punching up'' which is a big cope out in most cases it is just a way to justify terrible behavior, granted I see movies as art so I couldn't ever see something an woman-hating or male hating, it's either a movie or it isn't and we have a rating system for that on websites.

The ending of 'Play Misty For Me' (1971) is interesting. Then, there's the final scenes of 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' (2019). Although these films show violence against women, it certainly isn't celebrated. In the first, the guy is taking on an armed, female stalker. And, in the latter film, there's a huge release of tension. The audience knows that, in the real-world events, those women went on to cause even greater bloodshed. By contrast, Jennifer's Body takes the usual horror trope of faintly sexualised killing, and reverses the usual sexes. Didn't expect originality from anything described as 'feminist' did you..?

Saw Diablo Cody and horror and didn't see it. Juno is overrated and the dialog was oddly written.

2007 Teeth about a girl's vagina with teeth, was just more interesting even though it was a feminist spin, was still enjoyable even though it was guys getting their penis bitten off. It is fiction. I am okay with female leads. Kurt Russell defeating something from outer space is on par with Sigourney Weaver defeating something from outer space. It just needs to be a good story. Though not as common as the final girl trope, there are also final guys. Evil Dead has always been Ash being the final guy.

If a slasher sees two teenagers making out, he provides and equal opportunity for both to die. I don't see that as a gendered attack.

As a young woman, it makes for good catharsis for all the weird teenage stuff. Things like insecurities, body image issues, confusion at betrayals from friends and predatory older men trying to get close to you. I don't think the deaths of the men are taken very seriously by the movie at all. It's just as serious as a slasher movie. Definitely not for everyone, and I don't really understand why its considered feminist at all.

Instead of trying to make a better world, whether that was their intention or not, people like feminists fall into revenge. This let’s kill and subjugate all men type thing. Idk

The movie isn't considered feminist because men get killed, it's considered feminist because it centers on a female friendship and touches on a few feminist subjects every now and then. That might seem like a low bar but that's literally all it takes.

The boys that Jennifer kills are all shown to be good people. They all get lured into sex by Jennifer but none of them overstep, deceive, or try to take advantage of her. None of them are shown as sleazy guys who are trying to use her for sex. Even the typical "jock" was just a guy mourning his friend. The movie also shows the victims' families mourning for them to underscore the tragedy. The only male characters portrayed as bad are the band that turn Jennifer into a demon. Jennifer is the villain of the movie, not the hero. This is not sub-text. It's patently obvious when watching the movie. You should stop watching movies through the MRA lens.
