Be careful. In laws are aware of their daughter’s intent to profit of ill gotten gains at the expanse of husbands.

How did you guys develop any appetite for intimacy after the divorce? I’m afraid that my thoughts of perpetual celibacy may be unhealthy.

Not divorced yet (filed Feb) , but no regents so far. After I first filed would have these random waves of guilt and anxiety. The first few times I had to go back to the house I would pull over first and collect myself so I could maintain grey rock. Now I sometimes feel 'negative' about it, but never think reconciliation is a good choice. We had 17 years to try to do that. I don't feel any regret about the divorce but I do feel concern about her. She's going to leave debt free and with $500-650k cash, but that's it. She hasn't worked in 12 years. So will need to get a job. And she loses me (high income, house chores, taking care of her). I was simping hard, but it's going to be a huge lifestyle downgrade / hit for her; and I am honest enough to admit that 'concerns / worries' me. On the other hand my lifestyle just keeps getting better. Once the divorce is over I'll save ~$160k+ per year being single, and that's going into investments & setting up passive income steams. I'm skiing again (after 15 year break), far less stressed, more mentally & emotionally fit, working out more, visiting family, even took 2 trips to Thailand with my best friend.

And while I will NEVER marry again, I am interested in companionship. A travel FWB or holiday girlfriend sounds awesome. I am 48 y/o, dual doctorate, private pilot, martial artist in great shape, high earning, 6ft, love traveling, etc. She is a 44y/o, overweight (BMI 33), chronic pain, horrible attitude, with possible BPD. I'll be fine, I doubt she will find another man of my value.

Good for you man. Finally someone that is moving forward. You are right just companionship should be good and that's the way it should be. Instead signing a contract to be imprisoned by

I have been married twice, so wish I could vote twice. Of course, the second divorce is a lot harder to answer as it was she who first said that she wanted a divorce, moved out, and then seemed to be dating someone new pretty quickly. I was then the one who ended up filing the divorce papers. It hurt like hell to know that she moved on so quickly, but somehow I still find myself wishing I could hug her again from time to time.

The first divorce needed to have happened before we even got married.

Fuck that go hug someone new

Easier said than done when you are a big fat guy.

I couldn’t handle it anymore. Loveless, ungrateful, selfish, conniving, narcissist who only care about her and kids well-being, use me as a bank. No.. I had no choice but to leave. I was too depressed enduring for 13 years mainly for kids but it was too depressing. No regrets.

[–]FunkyTownMascot 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I would like to add that I would've endured the marriage for another 7-8 years though to be able to see my kids every day.

[–]phalo 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That crossed my mind, but I think the damage to them wouldn't have been worth it. I want my kids to see a healthy loving relationship and that was NOT my marriage!

Bro that doesn't sound....good? hahah unless you were being sarcastic

[–]FunkyTownMascot 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My marriage wasn't that bad. She just wanted to pretend she was single and 21 again to hit the CC despite being a mother to young children.

She met up with a recently divorced friend and got talked into going back to the streets. She then had a solid 2-3 year hoe phase.

Would like to hear from those who said yes. Anyone?

[–]MartyMcFly7 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ditto. I'm assuming these are from men who didn't want the divorce.

[–]Grand-Expression-493 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah. Makes sense.

[–]phalo 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Voted no before I saw the not divorced yet option, but 100% the right decision for me and nothing is going to change that before it's final.

[–]MartyMcFly7 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

While I regret that things didn't work out, I'd say my life is much better now. Life is too short to be stuck with someone who doesn't love you.

[–]CrazySanta7 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where is the 'F no' option?

[–]dday_throwaway3 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My only regret is not initiating the divorce sooner.

[–]azwildcat74 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Regret some of my actions that led to divorce but not the divorce itself. We should never have been married, just too incompatible. I miss seeing my kids 100% but it’s been great to get to date again and feel actually DESIRED. It’s been great to do whatever the fuck I want to do when I want to do it when I don’t have the kids, it’s shown me why I was so unhappy before now that I’m removed from it and getting to pursue my interests for myself again.

[–]Ptsdveterannavy 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes I regret it like I'd regret catching diarrhea

[–]Small_Quarter_3673 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Look man I don't want to make it sound easy. If you keep dwelling on things you can't have anymore it will make it worse. As far as you being fat you can control that to a certain degree
